An adventurous adventure comedy with two main characters. Arthur Daly is a crooked little businessman, extremely greedy, very pretentious, rather cowardly, terribly selfish and very unscrupulous. And his minder* is former middleweight boxer Terry McCann, who has a broken sports career and two prison sentences behind him, with his principles, is very honest, loyal, responsible and almost trouble-free.

Terry is the main star of the series. Possessing the best qualities of a true Cockney - cheerful, resourceful, brave and witty, he seems like a noble knight against the background of his boss, an enterprising rascal and a shameless bugger. The cunning Arthur not only does not hesitate to take most of the money earned by his assistant, but also does not hesitate to rent him out as a security guard or bouncer to anyone, sometimes completely random acquaintances. The variety of these often dubious business trips does not let either Terry or the viewer get bored.

It was delivered, filmed and mounted quite simply, not very dynamic and intense at the present time. They play mediocre, but neither the genre nor the mise-en-scene require special acting skills or depth of images. The costumes and decorations are modest, but absolutely authentic. Solid realities and authentic life, discreet signs of a far from prosperous city and curious signs of the time in general. All kinds of pubs, clubs and street trade. Morals and language. And what are the types, types and types here! They are very colorful, though a little exaggerated. However, the lyrics, in my opinion, are even better. Witty, funny, and often downright politically incorrect jokes have become a real highlight of the series.

It turned out to be a funny, intelligent and positive comedy with an embellished and slightly affected, but sympathetic atmosphere of the near-criminal life of London in the 80s, with good stories and picturesque characters, with interesting situations, very successful dialogues, excellent humor and wonderful main characters. And a nice song in the credits.

Language. They speak well, naturally, but it is not always clear)) Often incorrectly, sometimes extremely quickly, almost always not very legible, individual characters with terrible accents. I come across slang. Subtitles, in my opinion, are necessary, but they were found only for the 1st season. Sometimes it's very difficult to understand without titles. And without these text jokes, watching loses half the fun, no less...

* (Minder) Basically, it's a bodyguard, an assistant, but not really. A real, classic miner should not only protect the boss from any small and medium punks, but also help him avoid any dangers at all, resolve situations, and sometimes even interfere, stop the boss before he makes serious mistakes. However, bosses, as a rule, do not hesitate to load them with all sorts of other tasks.

** About the name "Mechanic". Yes, there is no adequate translation for this slang word in Russian. But the "Mechanic"?! Well, at least let it be "Babysitter", "Guardian" or "Errand Boy". I absolutely do not understand how exactly the "Mechanic" was formed?! However, as soon as they didn't translate, I came across "Motorist" and even "Miner"))

Interestingly, one cool character gets into the car and says threateningly, "I'll be back." And the main one will put it down. The hero replies, "You watch too much telly." Interestingly, the series was released six months before the premiere of the Terminator in cinemas, not to mention on TV.
