Çalıkuşu (1986)

A wonderful film adaptation of the book. The music enchants and complements the atmosphere.

I have repeatedly read the book "Songbird". And this series is her best film adaptation. Atmospheric, not at all drawn out, with great music and gorgeous actors. I can't imagine another actress playing Feride. Aidan Schoener did not play, but lived this role. The only thing I don't like, both in the book and in the series, is the ending. The insidious cheater Kamran is not worthy of such a girl. It would have been better if she had stayed with Ihsan Bey, but that's just my opinion.
