And since I watched Poldark 2015, I had to watch the original because of my pens, probably one of the few in the Russian Federation, and probably my comment on the saber will remain the only one here)
There is nothing much to say about the series itself, the film adaptation of the books by Winston Graham, there are essentially no differences with the 21st century version, the only thing is that the new version is longer, but this is possible due to the larger number of books, 5-7 books were released at the time of the first film adaptation, and in total like 12 were written about Poldark. The difference in the series is essentially only in the video sequence, the original is still from the 70s. If you are not a megafanat, then the modern film adaptation is enough for your eyes)
By the way, I will note a couple of disadvantages in this film adaptation. This is the unexpected appearance of Ross's aunt Agatha, here she appears out of the blue from the second season, from episode 17. In the new film adaptation, her role is more correctly integrated into the narrative. Well, the replacement of actors is also not in favor, for example, the actor playing Dr. Enis was changed in the second season. But in those days, as I understand it, such substitutions were much more common than they are now.
P.S. Besides the two TV series, there is also an English film from 1996, an adaptation of one of the Poldark novels.
