Factually accurate and based on extensive historical research, it reveals how the greed, lust and ambition of men like Caesar, Nero and Constantine shaped the Roman Empire. It describes how Rome destroyed Carthage, was conquered by Caesar, how it suppressed the Jewish revolt, and converted to Christianity. CGI is mixed with compelling drama and spectacular live-action battles to tell the definitive television story of how the Empire was formed, how it achieved maximum power, and why it eventually failed.

The poor crossing of the Rubicon by twenty soldiers was disappointing...
It's strange that Caesar's rise to power was stretched out for 50 minutes, and his entire reign and death were put in two minutes. Where is it about what he actually did? Or are all Caesar's achievements, in the opinion of the creators, a usurpation of power?
It's interesting how they introduced the main characters. But there was no such thing in the Nero series. And in this series, it didn't play out in any way, why would you do that?
Little Tiberius is so handsome, an adult doesn't look like him at all.
Poor Tiberius...A wife, a mother, even Maton...Everyone denied and doubted((
At the end, there are very beautiful shots of the destroyed works of art.
Overall, the choice of the episode's theme is not the first time puzzling. If this is not the end of the empire, why show exactly that with words about the end..?
