Noah is a New York City schoolteacher and novelist who is happily married, but resents his dependence on his wealthy father-in-law. Alison is a young waitress trying to piece her life and marriage back together in the wake of a tragedy. The provocative drama unfolds when Alison and Noah meet in Montauk at the end of Long Island.
I read the standard description and watched it for 20 minutes. Got it, it's not mine. Some kind of boring and unattractive eroticism. A couple of days later, I came across an article explaining that everything is more interesting there.
The series is narrated from the point of view of two characters, Noah and Allison. Their versions of what happened do not overlap in many ways, although they tell about the same events.
They tell their stories for a reason, but to a detective (a very interesting character) investigating the murder of someone unknown to whom. The intrigue is growing. Therefore, in fact, we do not know what is true and what is false. After all, no one wants to appear as a bad person in the eyes of a detective and tries to whitewash themselves.

It is also interesting in the series that the "sharp turns" (one such occurs in episode 6) are not taken from the ceiling, but we are hinted at them from the first.

мне кажется в жизни все точно так же, столько всего происходит внутри нас, между нами. строятся и рушатся мечты, ломаются и создаются жизни, а что-то, как эта закусочная остается на своем месте и просто стоит.
этот фильм очень жизненный и не для молодых и влюбленных сердец... а для тех, кто похоронил хотя бы одну мечту, кто порвал на лоскуты свое сердце, кто не утонул в море жизни... кто продолжает искать и находить себя, и верить...
очень наглядно показывает, что не все в жизни так одонозначно, что всегда сыграет свою роль человеческий фактор. каждый из нас воспринимает реальность на свой вкус и лад, что-то мы игнорируем, что-то действительно не замечаем, а что-то очень сильно приукрашиваем. из этого и состоит жизнь, из наших собственных "правильных/ошибочных" суждений происходящих событий...
