I'll leave a spoiler comment here after watching the 5 seasons.
I started watching the series, responding to comments on imdb in the style of "the best comedy this side of the Atlantic" and "the English version of "friends," only better." So, the British, of course, are more restrained than the Americans, but they also have quite good comedy series, so I don't understand those who call this series a "comedy." As for me, it's the purest dramedy (drama with funny inserts). Therefore, if you expect to ride with laughter every episode, roll by.
At the same time, if you like to watch dramedies - to observe the lives of three couples, the difficulties in their relationships and their adjustment - then you will get hooked on this series. I don't really like dramedies at all, but I watched the episodes in one gulp.
In short, it's a very good series for fans of dramas and dramedies, with a good plot and acting. It is perfect for viewing in order to "improve English" (there is no Russian translation and is not expected).

The series is about the complicated lives, all kinds of joys and sorrows of three couples in Didsbury, a suburban area of Manchester. A story about the complexities of their personal and friendly relationships, about the problems of family, marriage, career, sex, children and adultery.

A comedy-drama urban soap opera. The characters are waiting for entertainment and trials, victories and failures, holidays and adversities, curiosities and misunderstandings, in short, a variety of everyday stories, sometimes touching, often banal, mostly quite trivial, but sometimes quite dramatic, and sometimes even tragic.

It was delivered and shot quite simply, mounted without long empty "long notes". Great dialogues, good casting. They play very well, with a perfect minimum overkill. All the characters are living, characteristic personalities. And Nesbitt's character is a real gift and decoration of the series.

It turned out to be an interesting and extraordinary "urban soap-melo-dramedy". Funny, sincere, romantic and realistic at the same time, with a good balance of humor and seriousness. Despite the scriptwriters' efforts to come up with new events, situations and problems, the series seemed a bit monotonous to me, sometimes boring and not particularly interesting. But I admit, sometimes it was really funny (or, conversely, sad), and there were some very witty jokes and lines.

Language. They speak well, naturally and a lot. There are practically no terrible accents, but there are also quite noticeable ones, sometimes they speak quickly and not always intelligibly. Some characters like to express themselves quite difficult, almost all like to practice their wit. Subtitles are very useful.

I must say, I didn't like this ending very much. I started watching this series as a comedy, and although I realized quickly enough that it was a dramedy, I still perceived it as a fairly light and optimistic series. For 5 seasons, the moral of the series was in the style of "you can have ups and downs, problems, casual relationships that you will regret, but if you are really a couple who loves each other, you will be together."
The last two episodes have deployed the whole message of "you can get together and disperse, have children, buy a dream house, but somewhere around the corner your truck is already waiting."
I still have to watch season 6, but I didn't want to watch even this episode after the previous one.
