Doctor Zhivago (2002)

After reading the book, I decided to watch all the film versions of Doctor Zhivago, I liked this one the most! Keira Knightley is very young here, but she got used to the role so well, she seemed to be created for films of past centuries, and the story is so exciting, there are deviations from the book, but this does not spoil the finale, I was very touched and liked this mini-series.

Often the plots of the Russian classics leave me indifferent, but here I just got into the story.
People of that era had difficult destinies, it was difficult and scary to live. Love and family values were indeed a welcome outlet in such a difficult time..

I am categorical about cheating, but it was interesting in the end to find out who Dr. Yuri Zhivago will stay with. And the whole series was sorry for Tonya.

The series was shot very well and beautifully, the music was chosen superbly.

I liked the actress playing Tonya - quiet tenderness and dignity. Kira is always Kira, with the same facial expressions and sharp movements. The actor who is Alive didn't come in either: I don't even know what exactly is wrong, some kind of excessive sweetness, or something, I constantly remembered that I see an actor who is trying, not a character. Komarovsky is good!!

Sam Neal as Komarovsky is amazing! He played the nasty guy well.

This version is more open than the first condensed film adaptation of 65, although there are discrepancies with the book.
In the beginning, I thought I wouldn't like it at all, but no. Very good. I think I'll review it sometime.
It remains to watch the last one of the 2005 TV series.

I really love this particular film adaptation of one of my favorite books. Even despite some discrepancies with the original, despite the unrealistic locations of the Russian countryside, etc. and so on. I like this low-budget TV version with the emotions they show. You absolutely believe them. And most of all, you believe Hans Matheson (Zhivago), one of his looks conveys all the storms of emotions in moments, and this is very cool - what is called "playing with his eyes" - he turned out to be the perfect Zhivago in my opinion. Kira is young and beautiful and at the age of 17, at that time, she gave a great game. Neil himself is great. Einaudi's music is amazing.
