Overview
Czars of the bizarre, Mark Frost & David Lynch have concocted a second series that shows the perils of live television during the "Golden Age of Television". Complete with the usual odd assortment of strange characters that would normally be associated with a Lynch / Frost production. Music for the series was composed and conducted by Angelo Badalamenti. In an attempt to revive his failing career, movie star Lester Guy has agreed to star in this new live variety show for the Zoblotnick Broadcasting Company (ZBC). The owner of the network sends his nephew, from the old country, to direct this show...

While mixing audio for an episode of the second season of Twin Peaks, Lynch suddenly had an idea. "The idea of people trying to make something successful, but it doesn't work out that way, came to my mind!" In the wake of the initial success of Twin Peaks, David Lynch and Mark Frost were a tasty morsel for television companies. When they got from the ideas of the series "Live" to the ABC television network, the latter was happy to make an offer. The show was a half-hour comedy of the absurd, in which many of the cast and crew of Twin Peaks were engaged. The pilot was very successful, after which six more episodes were ordered. However, when it came to the broadcast network, the excitement about "Twin Peaks" subsided, and the network no longer sought to cooperate with Lynch. "At that time, the Twin Peaks thing was floating upside down, and ABC wasn't supporting the new show in any way. They just hated him." The release of episodes was delayed, finally taking place in the summer, when the networks, knowing that the audience is far from the receivers, are playing unwanted shows. Lynch understood that the delay meant the death of the show at the hands of the broadcaster. "I've heard that the worst time to show is in the summer, and we're just in the summer. Saturday night is known to be the worst airtime of the week, and we're on Saturday night." As expected, the show received low ratings, with only three of the seven episodes airing on ABC
