A funny detail! Ellie asks Joel how it all started and he tells her that cordyceps spores got into the food of various brands: flour, sugar, and pancake mix. In the first episode, literally at the 5th minute, Sarah shows Joel that he forgot to buy a pancake mix, because she wanted to bake pancakes for his birthday. And a little later we see how the neighbors feed grandma some pastries and offer Sarah a treat, but she refuses. It turns out that Joel, with his forgetfulness, saved the whole family from infection🙂
I need to remember this case, I will make excuses to my wife if I forget to buy something in the store😁
For me personally, the episode evokes quite mixed feelings. If we rely on the game as the primary source, this chapter is one of my favorites, and, unfortunately, I did not feel the feeling of constant tension as during the passage (which upset me). If we abstract from the game and decide that the episode went its own way, then in fact everything is very good, we were shown people who, even in such a dark time, were able to create something that was in fact the best part of their lives, Offerman (especially) and Bartlett played above all praise.

а последняя сцена - одна из самых сильных.
