Overview
WWE Saturday Night's Main Event returned to NBC in March 2006 after a 13-year hiatus. In the mid-1980s through early 1990s, WWE fans would scour the television listings each month - making sure they didn't miss the highly anticipated special that replaced network staple Saturday Night Live on occasion. When Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller and Dana Carvey weren't performing comedy sketches, WWE Superstars were squaring off in matches that often took on a pay-per-view feel. The show's original theme song was "Obsession" by the band Animotion, but by the time the first run of the series ended in 1992, the music was changed to a generic theme.

All the matches were good, the segments between were not bad. Everything was on the case.
A true classic from Styles and Nakamura is a great farewell to both America and Japan. Everything indicates that the rumble match is indeed Stiles' last.
This is the level that the entire roster should be equal to. At that age, playing such matches is top class. Execution, psychology, footwork, good spots. And of course, a tribute after the match.
Sami won, as expected, but who else could be the winner here if ramble is in Riyadh? Perhaps we will see him in the status of champion very soon.
Overall, it doesn't feel like we're going to have a long run for the main title this year.
Considering how many hungry talents are on the roster right now, I expect the title to be in the running in 2026. And that's cool. I think everyone is already tired of these long runs with a minimum of matches.
I don't want to talk too much about the rest of the matches, everything was decent there and I liked it. The only thing that scared me was the prismelenia of Ria on my head after DDT. Careers ended after that. It's good that she's okay.
Wacker looks bombastic in corsets and jeans. But Raquel had a ridiculous bodysuit, it looked very "experimental".
It's a pity that the show has lost its original "nature." Where are the wrestling legends of the past? Where are the retro references? All that remained was a signboard and a double microphone above the ring.
Sina's match failed as planned. Have you been going for this for a whole year? Seriously?
The most lazy booking.
The two tops were included in the plot with celebrities, which is of no interest to anyone.
No one is interested in watching the bloodline showdown either.
Knight and Rollins' good match was blurred by the latter's injury.
Goldberg played a good match and didn't break Gunther. This is a success.
But cutting off his farewell speech after two sentences is a complete trash. It is not surprising that Goldberg grumbles in all interviews after the event and is clearly unhappy with his farewell match.
And in general, Ventura wasn't given much of a microphone, and veterans weren't really highlighted.
The current SNME format is frankly a failure. Well, you can't just shove SO MANY ads and show ADS instead of the legend's farewell speech.
