@CatarinaMarquina: They were initially brought together by Rachel herself, sending him to hang out with her while she went to the club to pick up Joshua. And Monica loves her brother and supports him in any choice, regardless of the relationship with one or another ex.
@MARxLENin: Well, she dated Ross longer, he loved her so much for so many years...but he didn't ask me to get married. And here they've known each other for a couple of weeks and you're welcome. I think many people's self-esteem would be hurt
@LUXEON: Any people are vulnerable when their ex finds someone new. Regardless of gender. Men are also often upset, especially those who consider themselves the best and irreplaceable.)
I still don't understand how Chandler agreed to an all-or-nothing argument. After all, in fact, the girls did not lose anything except a weak lever of pressure in the form of tickets! But in the end, the guys did everything right :D
@Ginseng: The fact is that these tickets are not simple, but so-called season tickets, i.e. tickets for the full season of NBA games, in this case, the New York Knicks and their Madison Square Garden arenas. Plus, the seats on the tickets themselves - lower seats (bottom row) - are the most expensive. I don't know how it was in '98, but the average price for an NBA match today is ~ $150 \ 1h, and the lower podium is 2-3 times higher, what can we say about season tickets, which also include autograph sessions, free food and drink, concerts and other things inaccessible to ordinary people. The series was released in April, and this is the time of the playoff games, and there, as you know, the most interesting thing. Bottom-line: These tickets cost at least a few thousand dollars each. Maybe tens of thousands.
Monica doesn't have any storyline of her own in the last few episodes. Joey doesn't have it either, but at least he gets the bark wet, and she's somewhere in the background. You're giving me more Monica!
I've been tormented by the question for a long time, and finally Googled and found an explanation for the joke when Ross leaves the cafe, where they mocked him because of an earring in his ear. now everything is clear. I'll copy it from the VK group: it wasn't like that in the original. in English, Chandler said, "Okay, no problem, just remember to wake us up before you go-go," thus quoting the song of the same name :) and a few moments earlier, in the original, he said that it was not R.E.M. that broke up, but Wham.
@Alfonso: Chandler and Joe hint to Ross at this point that he looks like George Michael with an earring in his ear (he had just come out shortly before), who was a member of the duo Wham!
@STUPIDJEM: yes, and in the classic voice acting there was REM. And by the way, I don't think that the joke here was related to the fireplace, they just remembered the WHAM song because of the earring.
I'm watching with Russian subtitles, it's very strange that the mention of the book "Flowers for Algernon" was translated as "Flowers of Algeria" ("Flowers for Algernon" is the correct version). The book is quite famous, and the metaphor is very relevant

This song is in my head now :D
