Insecurity. It's in all of us. That voice inside that tells us we can't do something, that we are not good enough, we shouldn't even try. And when we listen to the voice we hold ourselves back in ways we don't even realize. All because we're scared to take a chance, to face our fears, to see what we're really capable of.

So far, all of Erica's patients are her acquaintances in the past and present. When Erica met Tom, they didn't know each other. Although it makes sense that she needs some practice before moving on to someone she's not related to in any way.
All of Erica's patients, it seems to me, are really just another test, like she figured out more or less about herself, now she has to figure out her relationship with her surroundings and help them with their problem.
I take it that while Erica is a trainee, she will have "one-time" patients? Well, that is, not just deep therapy for a long time with someone, but as a practice of analyzing many different problems of others? It's not a bad idea. But I tuned in to Josh in the last episode, and then bam-Julianna. Apparently, Sam will be in the next episode.…
