I don't understand why the grades are so high.
In the book, the characters are described in a completely different way, Heathcliff and Katie are initially cunning and behave aggressively towards others.
And here they were made into great martyrs.

In contrast to the comment above, I will say that on the contrary, I do not understand why there are so many negative reviews (for example, on kinopoisk) about this film adaptation. But as they say, " there is no friend for the taste and color."
Yes, there are some inconsistencies with the book, a lot of details are overlooked or shown too briefly, but for some reason this mini-series turned out to be to my liking, and to be honest, the whole plot and story is more catchy here than in the novel itself. There is somehow more empathy for the characters than in the book. Take at least Heathcliff, if in the original source he causes only negative emotions, then there are rather mixed, sometimes the hero is even to some extent sorry.
In general, someone likes this film adaptation, someone does not. I still advise others to take a look, if anyone doubts, especially since it only takes a little more than 2 hours.

I had mixed feelings, it seemed like a good film adaptation, but somehow it didn't go too far. 🧐
