At the end of the season, everyone is alive, fortunately. But none of the characters are okay. It's a strange season. Even for the Pfefferman family. The previous one was stronger, in my opinion. And Israel didn't pull it off. Although they tried to raise interesting topics, it looked a bit strained. Everything is IMHO, of course.
The whole season is in one go (however, as usual). I like that there is no ostentatious drama in the series, which is typical of mainstream, expensive series. Everything here is close to life: everyone suffers quietly, if I may say so. That is, scandals and events are not the center of the series/the characters' lives. There is no forced "theatricality", it is very vital (in my opinion, everyone, I believe, is close to the characters' loss, their obsession with the past or/and attempts to find explanations in it, etc.). I hope for the approval of the next season.
I really enjoyed the season. If on the previous one, I doubted whether it was worth continuing to watch the series, then I watched this one a lot. There is a lot of pain in each character, but also a lot of light and joy. You worry about them.
Jeffrey Tambor, who was previously accused of sexual harassment but denied that such a thing had happened, refused to participate in the filming of the fifth season of Transparent because of the "politicized atmosphere" that had developed on the set.
I don't know how in this ending, and indeed in this series, which was unwound from Moira's story, you can weave her sawing so that it was exactly according to the plot. These accusations are depressing, especially considering Tambor's Emmy victory speech. I watched an interview with him, nowhere did he seem like a complete freak or asshole. Rob Lowe (the interview was a joint one) is immediately fired up as a sexist and smug cretin, but Tambor. Sadly. It's sad that the show is suffering because of the asshole behavior of the actors, it's sad that the staff themselves turn a blind eye to this, not nipping the situation in the bud. The saddest thing is that what many of the accused have done does not compare at all to the accusations against Allen or Polanski, but they continue to work, and someone cuts off all projects, like C.K.
@Stekliashkina_ua: It is not sad that Allen continues to work, as all the charges against him were dismissed in court decades ago after numerous commissions and investigations. It's sad that these accusations have been dragged out again.
Jeffrey Tambor is officially fired from the show. His contract was not renewed for a fifth season. The rest of the actors were signed. The series will continue without Moira's character. At the same time, Tambor continues to deny the charges and is going to continue to defend himself against them, defending his position. He also expressed regret that the fate of the series is now in question: http://deadline.com/2018/02/jeffrey-tambor-transparent-fired-response-jill-soloway-amazon-1202291033/
For me personally, Transparent has always been a series about Mort/Moira. The whole peculiar family stuck around her, first of all. The line of her past, understanding and accepting herself over the years, occupied a huge place in the show. I can hardly imagine how to continue the plot without Moira. Alas. Now there is a possibility for me not to return to watching next season. Yes, in other series, characters leave/leave/die and the show goes on without them. But here the situation is special, and the sediment from the Tambor story will definitely interfere with the perception of even a successful plot, without his character. IMHO, of course.
We have learned that the episode will not be a separate project from the series, but will be part of season 5 and be a two-hour song and dance episode for the Pfeffermans, serving as the final chapter for the series. Music has yet to be recorded and the episode has yet to be filmed but is slated to hit Amazon in fall of 2019.
Damn, it was shown right in the trailer for season 5 that there was a spoiler, and for some reason everyone is dancing in colorful dresses about this. Because of the ridiculous news, it's necessary to try to turn a serious series with one of the best scripts on TV into some kind of parody((
@Orangeice: it was the trailer for the final episode, not the entire season, even though they included this scene with a "spoiler," so let's stay calm) The series itself is primarily about overcoming their demons, tragedies, etc., so it makes sense that by the end of the season they will come to their senses and, so to speak, "find their closure."
@Stekliashkina_ua: как-то было неоднозначно написано об этом в статьях, но все же Вы правы, нашел в одном источнике: "The fifth and final series of the show was cut down to one feature-length episode, written and directed by creator Jill Soloway, after lead Jeffrey Tambor was dropped from the show following an internal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against him." В любом случае, двухчасового фильма должно вполне хватить на адекватное завершение сериала. Формат мюзикла немного смущает, но мы помним, что сериал позиционирует себя как "комедия", так что...
the series is absolutely for an amateur. on the one hand, it was interesting to see about the transition at such a mature age, to learn some nuances that I hadn't thought about before. the acting is great, Jeffrey Tambor generally needs to be given a dozen awards for this role. but it is confusing in general that it is indicated everywhere as if this is a comedy. and, of course, I wanted to see something a little different. the series turned out to be very gloomy, after the episodes there was an extremely unpleasant aftertaste. It feels like, in general, the characters are in some kind of permanent suffering and you are with them. therefore, I repeat, the series is absolutely not for everyone, but in general the product is of high quality

Отличный сезон получился

Thanks for the news(
elongated and musical, as far as I understand.
