A great start! The music, the style, everything is excellent. And yes, I think a lot of things will remain behind the scenes. Because it's impossible to fit a ~300 hour game into a series format.

A quick explanation of the first episode: Ren Amamiya is accused of assault. He is charged with a criminal record, but he gets off with a correctional term in Tokyo. With the help of an obscure application on their phone, they are transported to a parallel world (in this case, to Kamoshida Castle). And Ren makes a deal with Persona.
If a person is attracted by a very strong desire, he creates a "Castle" for himself./The Palace" and hides his desire there. And if this is a desire to steal, then the person will change, realize his wrongdoing and confess his crimes.

For those who haven't played the game and want to watch this anime, I'm writing: don't.
Boring, drawn out, predictable. Heroes are indestructible, someone will always appear on time and their team will increase or it will help to cope with the problem.
It will only work if you don't expect much from anime and love this game.
