Before the series, it seemed that all of the main characters except Marsha and Shiv are dependent and in the illusion of control.
Roman and Kendall work in their father's company, and directly depend on his decisions and actions. They hold positions simply because they are Logan's children. There are no merits, and if you want to do something important and responsible, take the initiative, you immediately get a reminder of who is in charge here.
Tom is obviously under Shiv and therefore under Logan. He literally can't do anything on his own, but at the same time, like a child, he enjoys the life of a rich man.
Conor came out from under the wing of his father, but at the same time lives in the illusion of having a sincere and great love, when that same girl is only a prostitute and with him exactly until the end of the payment.
Logan is also under the illusion of control. He believes that he can directly influence and direct the lives of everyone, especially his family members. Without taking into account their will, desire and self.
In contrast to the above, Marsha and Shiv remain.
Marsha is aware of who is in charge and responsibly fulfills her role as a caring mother (stepmother). Sincerely submits and accepts his position in the family.
Shiv before this series seemed, as noted above, "with balls", she made a career for herself in a completely different field, came out from under her father's wing. But in this episode, a certain presidential candidate appears, a clear opponent of Logan. And invites Shiv to work. On the one hand, it seems that this is due to her obvious success and competencies. But on the other hand - and I still believe it more - he takes her to work to compromise Logan, to put pressure on him and to find his weaknesses. Which has nothing to do with the merits of Shiv. Which also suggests that she lives in an illusion.
And in this case, there is only one March left.
PS How cool it would be if Kendall, with his intelligence and experience in management, would leave the family after the betrayal in the last series and go about his own business, without all this stuff.
I felt sorry for Kendall better than ever. On the other hand, he finally speaks up his mind. He's not afraid of Logan anymore. I'm just really sad that he needs drugs for that.
I love Roman for just picking Kendall up. Deep down, he truly cares. So much. And honestly, I just love Roman, I felt this in him from the beginning. This whole family is fucked, but at least he's not pretending and trying to make jokes & enjoy this fucked up time.
I don't like Shiv's affair & Logan i kind of right. But calling her out like THAT? That's cruel.
Connor begging Willa to stay is kind of pathetic. I know Willa is kind of choosing this but I still feel conflicted about the whole situation. Maybe even a little sorry for her.
Still can't understand Marcia's deal. Is it actually love, or?
In my opinion, the former Shiv is a wild miskast. He should be like a bad guy, punchy and unscrupulous. A sexy seducer who will lead Shiv off the right path. But this is his face of a simple kid (and clothes, by the way, too) does not fit at all with the image he is trying to create. And there is no chemistry between them.
The man looks very much like Ryan from the Office and, accordingly, gives the impression of a comical newcomer more than a treacherous lover 🙈
