Overall, I liked the fifth season. Cleaver did not settle down in his new field, there were no fewer interesting personal relationships, collisions and situations, but politicians with their hypocritical games, small and big affairs and worthless intrigues were added - inexhaustible opportunities for ridicule. The mysterious community of drivers and the multidisciplinary activity of the Polish diaspora were also amused. I didn't like the fact that the main character was made gullible and naive, sometimes just a pathetic idiot. (however, his longtime rival Cal McGregor has also lost a lot of charisma and coolness) It's also a bit unfortunate that some intriguing storylines never got a spectacular sequel and rather palely deflated.
Despite ridiculing the government and senators, the series has become closer to a banal sitcom, and in some places even to outright clowning than to witty satire. The politicians are depicted grotesquely and deliberately clownish (perhaps so that none of them would dare to publicly offend and sue)). Hilarious and, admittedly, funny absurdity has increased, but realism has noticeably decreased. Nevertheless, I watched it with great pleasure and hope for a sequel.
It's been a good season, though not the best. At least the ending didn't disappoint. Rake is the main judge, who would have thought that this would be the end of it. But the scene "2 years later" turned out to be quite weak against this background.
In my opinion, 4 or 5 is an outright drain. The fifth one, in general, barely finished it, just to finish it off. Also, the series are so long, the authors didn't even know what to do with the timing.

I admit, the resources are not the most reliable, sometimes they screw up, but they often "guess"...
