No matter what anyone says, a person who is afraid of just the noise outside the door will not go alone in the middle of the night and will not keep the front door open. She even pointed a gun at her man, even though she knew he was coming, and then playfully hid behind the door, even though she didn't even know who was coming through the door to her. A fool in one word. Of course, I feel sorry for Esme, but such a stupid turn of events is more annoying than it causes any emotions. I didn't like the series at all, compared to the previous ones. What's with the ambiguous glances between Alfie and Martha? What are they for anyway? The kiss at the end was really annoying, that's why it's needed???? In general, why did he come to her for a beer when he knows that the bride is at home pissing at every rustle outside the door???For me, Alfred Pennyworth has always been the epitome of honor, and here in this episode he was made into someone unknown. The head of the ravens (if it really is the head) is not about anything at all. Did she just let go of the dudes who killed her man and injured her? It means that they can torture all kinds of politicians, but they can let the spies go. In short, I rate the series 1 out of 5.

@hammerschmiede: The fact that they removed the deterrent for Alfie in the person of Esme was predictable, another thing is that they did it a little clumsily. And it's not just that she playfully hid while waiting for Alfred to arrive, even though she had met him at gunpoint the day before... and also that she basically ran out of his parents' house, a day after she was shaking with fear that she was being followed. It would be possible to think that losing vigilance is stress from communicating with the groom's parents, fatigue, etc., if we were watching Desperate Housewives.. There's a motivation here - well, tacos.
Alfie's kiss+Martha looks more logical and justified against this background. Especially after saying that he is a convinced monogamist.
We are waiting for the further development of the plot.. already without a romantic background in the background.

@bazatron: Alfred tried to be better for her sake – not to take on the most dangerous/bloody job, and now he doesn't need it, as you can see if you watch the following episodes (I'm not campaigning, but I recommend it)

Disappointed..... disappointed with the series and this "alA" decent Alfie.
What the fuck..and you go with a woman to her house for a drink, if your beloved, as you say, shrinking from every rustle, is waiting at home!
The main character 's abnormal position!
In my eyes, he now has a VERY tarnished reputation...

Somehow everything is too uncomplicated, clumsy and ridiculous, but at the same time it is drawn out and uninteresting. I was expecting more of a Gotham vibe. In general, it's very weak.

Another thing is that Esme was killed before she could play a line with Beth Sykes.
She'd even left her sister's, and she wanted to visit Esme. But this topic was cut down in the bud...

The series itself is really rotten. They went somewhere unknown to the suburbs of London, ran around some yards, indistinct men and women in strange clothes smashed their sideburns... Nonsense.
I love the actress who played the doctor, the head of the Raven society, but such an easy outcome of the mission is very strange.

The turn was predictable, but it was still bitter, but we were pleased with the very warm scenes of Esme with Alfie's parents. I really like Jack Bannon in this role, so harmoniously that I can't take my eyes off him.

I liked the series. At least I can understand both Alfred and Esme.

The dialogues are just cliched... The plot still leaves me in suspense, and the picture is beautiful, but Alfie and Martha's kiss really upset me. And Esme? Alfie could have left his friends to guard her, even if one of the two had to stay in the bar. But the fool didn't take Es's paranoia seriously ((
