I don't understand how this thing manages to be both very cool and just terribly stupid. They have a set of well-written interesting characters, high-quality action, interesting ideas. Then, in an instant, it all turns into a set of cliched battles-overcoming, jokes about boobs and typical anime psychopaths. And then again, cool action and good characters.
@omeganozero: come on, characters without faces and static frames are a standard way to save money, in modern pieces they are widely used (the same stray dogs are famous for the fact that if a character moves away from the foreground even a little, his face immediately disappears). And this, it seems to me, is easier to endure than a bunch of inappropriate fanservice)
@shei350: In Dogs, if you exclude moments with an absolutely empty face, there is often an accompaniment, the position of the frame changes, the change of emotions is animated. There is literally a protracted change of pictures.
@shei350: the answer is banal and simple - the author of the original source loves fanservice, crazy characters, pathos and overcoming. sobsno his first manga is soul eater and there it was through the roof.
@volodyuka: I agree about crazy characters, pathos and overcoming. There was just too much of it in the Soul Eater. What is Death Jr. worth with his love of symmetry and Maki's battle with Kishin))) But regarding the fanservice... I didn't notice a lot of it. It must have passed me by.
