Everything was shot in Somerset, and the history of the resort town is reminiscent of the history of Bath. However, it seems that half of Austen's novels revolve around Bath.

The brother and Setsra Denham resemble the Kuragins' brother and sister in War and Peace.

I looked at how old the screenwriter Andrew Davies is. He was born in 1936. I've watched almost all of his TV shows. It will be a pity when such people leave, and only the show-off Sarah Phelps will remain.

In Austen's previous novel, there was already a similar scene with Mr. Darcy bathing, and in 1995 she was scripted by the same Andrew Davis. Then, for the sake of decency, it was decided to present Colin Firth dressed in front of a girl and just pour a bucket of water on him. But the wet shirt sticking to his nipples still made him a sex symbol of a generation. And now, 25 years later, we see Mr. Parker bathing...

Of course, I want to believe that the young architect will be lucky in the end.

And I like the show. It would seem that you expect something out of Pride and prejudice with Firth, but it's good that there is something modern in this seraglio - soundtracks, the same bare torsos and there are some obscenities... these are the details that bring us a little closer to that time.
I really like costumes, I always look at them in detail in such series and films.

The modern interpretation of the 19th century era looks strained, superficial, obscene and just plain stupid. The main character seems to have no pride, no kind of any, all the characters are formulaic and uninteresting. It's amazing that they can't remove anything better than Pride and Prejudice in such a genre, or they don't want to...

Smoking and skinny dipping... It doesn 't sound like Austen 's novels. 😐

The architect is more sympathetic than this ill-mannered Sidney, but it seems that everything has been decided for Charlotte for a long time.

But for the entire first episode, I looked at the main character and couldn't figure out who this actress reminded me of (I definitely hadn't watched any other movies/TV series with her. Everything fell into place in this episode. It's all the fault of her facial expressions. In some places, she directly copies Keira Knightley, and in some facial expressions you can read Emilia Clarke. It kind of repels me, her identity is immediately erased, and it's hard for me to look at her as a new face.
Otherwise, it's a bit cliched so far, but I didn't expect anything incredible)
