I didn't understand what prevented the vampire from trying to save herself and jump through the hatch? She throws blood into the water and just stands stupidly, pathetically waiting for death. The series shows that, if desired, these vampires jump worse than grasshoppers. Or why not jump overboard? There are no sun rays under the water column, and the little vampire survived, well, it would have paralyzed her, then they pulled her out...
