PS: A funny tendency to get into the memory of the main characters.
One of the recent examples is Harley Quinn, where the main characters also got into their heads :)
The stakes are too high. If her parents had found out, they would have robbed Willow of her future. It wasn't something Amity had the right to risk.
But, by the way, now the behavior of Amity's older brother and sister is more or less clear. It seems that they just want to compensate her for the fun and carelessness that her overbearing and demanding parents ruined. At least that's how it looks after this episode.
- My determination! Wait, wait, I've changed my mind! XD
When every time you want to do the right thing, you feel the deepest regrets, shame for your act, but somehow you have to do as circumstances dictate. And when a whole series of such events falls out, where it is not given to please everyone? And then your reputation, i.e. someone's expectations, pushes you to do the wrong thing...
I don't know how, but despite the fact that Disney is an evil corporation, they guessed that by hiring creative people who are really burning with their ideas, you can make really good content designed for a 12± age rating (depending on the region.)
In recent years: "Gravity Falls," “Star vs the Forces of Evil," and now for me these are: "Amphibian," "Owl House," and new "Duck Stories.“
in ordinary TV series with foam at the mouth, "ARRRR PROPAGANDA" just rages
Even when we found out in the pajama party episode that Willow and Amity were friends in elementary school, I was curious to find out what happened between them. After all, by that time it became clear that Amity was clearly not a bad person, so the reasons why she stopped being friends with Willow had to be serious. And the events at the beginning of the series, where Amity tried to burn their shared photo with Willow, only proved that this moment still weighs on Amity.
As a result, it turned out that Amity broke off the relationship primarily for the benefit of Willow herself, I had previously suspected that Amity had demanding parents, otherwise why such an unhealthy desire to be the best of all. Usually this is just an indicator that parents want to raise their status through a child, they say, our girl is the best, but often they do not think about how this girl feels herself. At the top, for some reason, some condemned Amity for such a decision, but what do you want from a little girl who was afraid for her friend. Amity decided that it was better for Willow to consider her a bad friend than to deprive Willow of her future. If Amity had told Willow directly about her parents, then most likely Willow would have said that her friend was more important to her than going to school, and Amity did not want that. You know, when you choose between two evils, any choice will seem wrong. Eventually Willow went to school and found friends, first Gus and then Luz, and Amity had to pretend to be a friend to those she didn't really like. Going back to the pajama party episode, remember how lonely Amity was sitting alone by the window. So whether Amity did the right thing or not is not important, because she suffered no less hardships than Willow.
Now about the relationship between Luz and Amity, did it seem to me or are the authors still hinting to us that Luz likes Amity? Well, or girls in the magical world blush for no reason. I previously joked about the fact that in order to bring Luz and Amity together, the authors would have to make them bisexual, since both showed interest in the male sex, it's debatable about Amity, but Luz for sure, but it looks like it wasn't a joke. I don't know how to feel about this yet, because really there is no such thing as an ordinary friendship, you know, such a thing when characters just communicate, not wanting to drag each other into bed. Should everything be reduced to amorous affairs? Well, okay, even if Amity turned out to be bisexual, but why make it so that she wants her friend. "I thought it didn't work that way a little bit." (c)
But maybe the authors will present their relationship in some interesting and unusual way, so I don't want to draw any conclusions now. Personally, I expected a purely friendly relationship, but as they say, "my expectations are my problems," especially since this series was extremely good, so I am quite optimistic about future events.
