I haven't watched Miranda yet, I really love Mayim Bialik, and I didn't have any expectations, so maybe that's why I actually liked the first episode with:
yes, it's an ordinary sitcom with simple humor and off-screen laughter, we've already seen all this many times, etc., but nevertheless it was nice to watch this light atmosphere (sometimes I felt a little Fleabag vibes, by the way, and not only because of the fourth wall, but also because of Kat herself) Phil (a very sweet old man) and again for the actress who plays Kat. For now, I want to watch more episodes to see if the creators can keep it all, or if it will be boring to watch.
by the way, I also really liked the idea of the credits at the end, when all the characters appeared in the cafe and destroyed the fourth wall, and, of course, the moment with "Oh, okay, yeah, we're good. Thank you. We're good. Yeah, au revoir, au revoir. Yeah. /Kat pushes the Frenchwoman away/" :D
@MessiFanatka: The first episodes (or even a season) of sitcoms are almost always not particularly funny, and then the actors fully get used to their roles.
@helggaolgga: I wrote "almost always." As a rule, the first episodes or seasons of sitcoms (and animated series) are not funny, the most striking examples are Friends, TBV, Family Guy, and so on. Compared to subsequent seasons, it's just heaven and earth.
@Angry_Dollar: Yes, the very first episodes of Friends were boring and unfunny. You could look at them with a stony face, they didn't even make you laugh, they didn't even make you smile. There was no humor as such, the actors had not yet gotten used to the role, the same Lisa Kudrow played frankly weakly, Ross's ex-wife was replaced by another actress in the process, and so on.
@Takohashi: Chandler had been on fire since the first episode, but Joey was still pretty smart and the jokes were all shot at once. What's the best season then? The eighth? a joke is not for everyone =)
@Angry_Dollar: "Imagine that you've been told all your life — you're a galosha, you're a galosha, you're a galosha. But you know about yourself — yes, you're a galosha. But one day you wake up and say to yourself, that's enough, I'm not a galosha anymore, from now on I'm a hat." [inserted sad off—screen laughter]. The humor we deserve, yeah. There's nothing to even discuss. It's enough to review the first episodes of sitcoms and subsequent ones to understand how the first ones are facepalm dull.
@Takohashi: First of all, the hat is a misspelled translation. Secondly, stupidity can be taken out of context and ridiculed anywhere. Thirdly, it is not necessary to laugh out loud with all jokes. I can continue, but I hate long comments myself.
@Angry_Dollar: Nothing is taken out of context, there's all the "humor" there. For sure, the laughter was framed for the first season, because really laughing at something like that is something that must be completely out of this world. In subsequent seasons, it was possible to laugh out loud or at least smile, and every few minutes, as the humor was an endless stream.
@Takohashi: I can suggest returning to this series in a year or two, I noticed that when reviewing, other jokes are already more fun. but specifically in the example about the fact that she wanted to become a handbag (and not a hat), there was a deep meaning, and not just a superficial joke. but again, due to age and experience, everyone sees what they see, so I think the branch can be closed.
@Angry_Dollar: «а не шляпой». Да неужели: «All of my life, everyone has always told me, ‘You’re a shoe! You’re a shoe, you’re a shoe, you’re a shoe!’. And today I just stopped and I said, ‘What if I don’t wanna be a shoe? What if I wanna be a- a purse, y’know? Or a- or a HAT! No, I’m not saying I want you to buy me a HAT, I’m saying I am a ha- It’s a metaphor, Daddy!»
@Takohashi: Oh, gods, that's it, now it's fundamentally changing everything, I've been so fucked up. my worldview has changed, how can I continue to live?...
I specially watched the first season of Miranda while I was waiting for this series, and I was waiting for it because I like Maya and I follow her projects. I must say right away that Miranda has a very specific humor, even for a British sitcom, as it seems to me, although I haven't seen them very much. And in "Kat" the humor is quite familiar American. Kat doesn't look much like Miranda at all, but I think that's a good thing, because doing the same English-language show for the second time is kind of fast)) The rest of the characters are quite pleasant. Only Kat's mom is kind of too menacing, and Max looks a little sinister, but he's hot! So I think this series is worth watching. After the trailer, I expected the worst. But it's immediately clear that this is not an exact copy of Miranda, even though its creator is listed as one of the producers of Kat.
@vk188829: I was also touched by the fact that Jim Parsons and his husband are also executive producers)) As for humor, I disagree. In my opinion, Miranda is classic British humor)
@Reetqa: Yes, hubby noticed it too!)) Well, I've watched the second season of Miranda, I've already gotten used to it a little. Really, very few British sitcoms have been watched to speak confidently. But now I already like it!
But I liked it. Easy, unobtrusive, without pretension. Look, relax and giggle 👍🏼 and Mayim Bialik, with her interesting appearance, how well she fits in. Charming and sweet 🥰
I just like Mayim Bialik, and everything else is not important. Yes, it's a bit exaggerated, it's a stretch, but despite all this it's very easy. I haven't watched Miranda yet, but I will definitely watch it and I think she definitely won't disappoint. She has so many positive reviews. And this series, I think...You can give it a chance
I didn't watch Miranda, but I had an idea. I liked the series in principle, it's super cool, there are no cool jokes, but the light atmosphere and good game of Bialik do their job. No pretense of a hit, cute, I'll keep watching. PS. Her barista employee immediately seemed familiar, then I looked - this is Dr. Dolittle's daughter))) how time flies.
I didn't know anything about the series at all and didn't expect it, when watching it, my thoughts were racing from omg, what nonsense it was and oh, and this is great, at the end there was a cool punch, and I laughed out loud))) So I switched to the trail.the series))
The series is about what would have happened to Amy-Farah Fowler if she had given up science. Light and uncomplicated, with pleasant actors, simple jokes. This is a weekend series. I'm interested in the original now
They did a good job of conveying Miranda's atmosphere, and the main character is just brilliant, I don't even know who's better - the original Miranda or Kat. Still, in the role of Sheldon's wife, the actress was a little clamped down, but here she's having a good time. The bartender is kind of too unpleasant, he's certainly far from Tom Ellis, who played in the original British sitcom.

, I haven't heard of the Miranda series, so in general, the sitcom came
in and I need to check it out.
