I'm still haunted by this necklace, why are they so sure it's definitely hers? It doesn't look like the only custom—made necklace in the world- rather, it looks like something that is sold in bundles in any accessory store. "If I'm lying, where did I get this necklace?" Kate says. And if he's not lying, then how? She herself said that Janet SAW her; she did not interact, did not visit her, but saw her. If Janet had gone straight to Kate, she probably would have said so. Did Janet open the window from the street and throw the necklace in there? How could it have gotten to Kate?? It's hard to judge about all the other points so far, but this one confuses me.
@Mary_Daydream: of course it's clear that this necklace is not the only one and that Kate could even go and buy it to frame Janet. But Janet could easily have dropped it when she ran away from this house in a hurry.
At the end of the episode, Janet has a joint in her hands (did she flush everything down the toilet?) and this led me to the idea that maybe she went to that house to smoke and somehow saw Kate stoned, left in an inadequate way( possibly losing the necklace at the same time), and Kate really needed help.
I don't think she smoked that joint at all. rather, it was once again shown that Janet often lies (and well, moreover) and she likes to feel like an adult))
and with a necklace, it is unclear how it can be accidentally removed / dropped, it's not a ring and a bracelet, it's put on over your head and hangs on a thick cord
@DixonsWings: This is most likely an illustration of the question of whether Janette is lying. She told her friends that she flushed everything down the toilet and later so colorfully show us that she twisted the joint, i.e. lied that she flushed it.
@Mary_Daydream: It confuses me that Kate always accuses Janette of "stealing her life", not that she did not save her, assisted a criminal, but "stole my life"....
How interesting it turns out with their materials.
In theory, Kate's mom lied that Janet's mom wanted to be like her and stuck to her men. You believe more in the story of Janet's mom, who was popular at school.
It's probably just that Kate's mom was lucky to marry a rich man and become popular in adulthood, and the prom queen became an ordinary mom.
Unless Janet's mom told me about her school past, which I think is difficult - because there are school albums and since she is the captain of the cheerleaders, then she could not be unpopular.
@Soon1304: ...or the genes of "popularity" are not the only genes that Janette passed on from her mother. Is it possible that the genes of pathological lying are also there? Some of the moms are lying, because the versions are diametrically opposed :) How interesting, in the second generation... And another hint from the showrunners - Kate was sure of her stepfather's infidelity, everything looked 100% true, but it turned out to be the opposite, decent. But her mother, just the same, had a lover, although it did not portend anything. That is, everything is not as it seems at first glance :)
We are waiting for the next series...
