Now for the case.
They didn't take it out. However, nothing unexpected. To dare to make a spin-off of the Silence of the Lambs is in itself a loud statement, but for some reason the creators decided that using the characters of the film was enough to shoot, and therefore put a bolt on the development of the script, on cast, on acting. The creators of the series invited us to look into the inner world of Clarissa Starling. Except Clarissa wasn't there. And it's not even in comparison with Foster, it's about character, charisma, or rather, in this case, their complete absence. Rebecca Brides is bland in herself, maybe she was under pressure from a sense of responsibility for her character, maybe she couldn't bear the load of cliches and labels that good screenwriters hung on her character, I do not know, but here she is in no way, although, hand on heart, with such a scenario and there is not much place to turn around... Everyday life of FBI agents and bureaucratic fuss on vegetable oil. Separately, Lumet and Kurtzman are great guys, but in tandem... Something went wrong. Even the visual didn't give me a sense of immersion in the 90s.
Overall, the series turned out to be dull and flat. If you are an admirer of the Silence of the Lambs, you will be disappointed.
p.s. there is still one plus in this series.
The release was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the film. and maybe this bad taste will encourage a younger generation to sit down to watch the iconic Silence of the Lambs.
In principle, I rather liked the series than disliked it. They created the atmosphere, the characters are not cardboard after all :) The actress plays the suffering Starling quite well with a bunch of neuroses and excellent knowledge of psychology.
The case, which pleases, was closed. All the bad ones were snapped, the good ones were saved. All the hanging guns were shot, and some were left for a potential second season. Which is now generally unclear whether it will be or not.
I would like a second season, I wonder what will happen to Clarissa and her internal problems, and the rest of the characters.
Considering that I did not expect anything from the series and got some pleasure due to the fact that I am not familiar with the original film and the book "The Silence of the Lambs" (Fans of the film and the book do not beat) .
I am glad that we dealt with the villains, saved the good ones and closed the case with a terrible medicine. I liked Clarissa as a character, the actress managed to make me want to empathize. The rest of the characters are also quite.
I will be glad if they extend it. It's interesting to find out:
1. In more detail about the memories with Clarissa's father.
2. How Clarissa will deal with her problems and investigate other cases of this kind, especially after the end of the vacation and meeting with her mother.
3. What will happen next with the rest of the characters.
And if they close it, it's a pity. Even if not every episode was wow, but I still don't think it's mega boring.
Starling just killed the kid with her monologue. A villain is not a villain, and you definitely can't do that.
Тот факт, что создатели не навязывают Клариссе пару и вообще романтическую линию тоже не может не радовать, как для достоверности так и для разнообразия (почти в каждом сериале у гг обязательно есть романтическая линия).
Сравнения с предшественниками сериал правда не выдерживает, но планка-то высоченная, это стоит учитывать.
Продолжение я бы посмотрела, тем более что к концу этого сезона у нас уже совсем другая Кларисса, за которой уже хочется наблюдать.
Мне это сериал очень похож на сериал «блудный сын». И почему-то мне кажется что его ждет такое же закрытые 😬
Сократить бы его серий до шести.
Мне сериал понравился. Даже не буду сравнивать эти две работы. Это не к чему.
Сериал достаточно хороший, интересно, что дальше будет)
