Objectively, the best episode of the season is 5 (Baal). Wonderful Lily Rabe, a full-fledged adequate plot. Everything in this series is so good (almost) that it gave hope for the next series. Alas, the following series did not justify their hopes.
The second place is more difficult. Here 1-2 series and 6 apply at once. And they are all not good enough.
The first and second played on nostalgia and the well-conveyed atmosphere of the first season of the original aiu. Was it enough? Personally, I don't.
The advantages of the sixth series are dynamism and Cody Fern. A sad and even interesting story, which did not have enough footage. Most likely, it takes the second place in my top.
And everything. All the other series are some kind of sur. Even minimally, there are no advantages to highlight, some trash that does not convey any atmosphere in any way, especially the atmosphere of the AIU familiar to us. I saw that the series was renewed for a second season, I don't understand why and I don't see the point in this.

If you felt it when watching this season, then when you watched three episodes of the new season of AIU, it became as obvious as possible. Without exaggeration and jokes, there are just interruptions between scenes that look many times more atmospheric, richer, more beautiful and just more interesting than whole scenes here (and a series about bloggers shot as if on a phone does not count at all), I do not exaggerate.
Many people will disagree with me, but for me, AI has nothing but just the same awesome visual (well, actors, of course), and here even the actors do not take out the series..
