Oh, yeah... Before watching, I was sure that the curly-haired man (Will Ferrell) was a psychiatrist, and the man with black hair (Paul Rudd), on the contrary, was his patient. I don't know if they did it on purpose or not. 🤡
A great pilot! It is very interesting how the main character will be able to overcome manipulation. Everyone used to be in his place - sometimes people are endearing to themselves, but you are too kind to refuse, even in spite of yourself and someone uses it. The series is an excellent example of an exaggerated development of events. The actors are great!
An interesting feature with time jumps - from the end to the beginning and back to the end. Nice actors and filming, but the pilot doesn't catch on. I'll see how it goes from here. As a comedy series, it doesn't work yet, but as a drama about manipulation, it's quite good.
I agree with the commentators above, the comedy here is only the comedians and their charisma, otherwise it will be seen. Does it seem to me, or does Apple TV series have such an atmosphere?
The pilot is interesting, but he seemed to lack something. I think I'll watch a couple more episodes to see if it's worth it. The only thing that confuses me is the age of the characters in 2010. It's 30 years since they met, they should look a lot older in 2010.
@vk660695: Maybe that's why there are three episodes at once? I really liked three, after the first and then a week break - I don't know if there would have been any interest.
It was after the 3rd that they became intrigued. But the pilot is also the pilot, in order to interest the viewer and continue to produce the show 🤷🏻♀️
Everything seems to be fine, and there is drama, and the comedic component is exactly at the level at which it should be in such projects, and Rudd is great, but when you look at Pharrell's dramatic performance, something is just absolutely nothing, you absolutely do not believe in his experiences. Kerry's "Kidding" turned out to perfectly combine both comedy and tragedy, but here it's like Will still won't get out of the comedic image.
For those who doubt whether to look further - yes! I found the first episode very vague and not catchy, but I'm glad I kept watching. The series turned out to be very interesting and instructive. (but definitely not a comedy)
The first episode intrigued me. Life moments. Probably everyone was in the role of a manipulator and someone who is being manipulated. Panic attacks. Not the ability to defend one's opinion, to set personal boundaries. And from the outside, you can see very clearly how everything is happening.
And I liked the pilot. I wonder what will happen next and how from such a friendly and sweet attitude to a psychiatrist, gg moves on to what ruins him (?) yard. And in principle, it is very scary to imagine that such manipulators really exist. And there are a lot of victims of such people 😖
Teach me how to watch the episode numbers!! for the umpteenth time, I turn on a new series and by the end of the series, I realize that this is the last episode of either the season or the series in general!! I haven't thought at all about why the comments on the series are different. then at the end of the series they summed it up and I was like, "hmm, why did they sum it up in the first episode, then what will the whole series show?"
Paul's charisma definitely catches on, but there is no humor, no plot, or even any special meaning.
Usually it's clear after the first episode, but here you need to look at it clearly
And from the outside, you can see very clearly how everything is happening.
