It's obvious that Charmaine is endlessly trying to get Jack back.

Obviously, yes. The message is one "either you will be with me, or you will not see children."
However, it's strange to hear such naive phrases these days. In the states now it is not so easy to forbid the second parent to see the child. 🌚 they have it strictly there. One trip to court will be enough for them.
Unless maybe Jack hasn't thought about it yet…
