A cruel series. That's how you think and thank God, civilization, progress for the fact that it is no longer necessary to kill whales, seals. For the fact that homosexuality is no longer considered a crime. For the fact that we already live in a better world than our ancestors. Though not perfect.
@Towel: It will be a discovery for you, but all people are female in the embryo, hormones make us men. If there are few male hormones, we remain women, if there are a lot of them, we become men. And, now imagine that, judging by this scheme, the love for men is more natural than for women, it turns out that the love for women is unnatural because of hormones, i.e. they determine whether you will be male or remain a woman. What is being normal? Are you normal for writing this nonsense? If you're worried about getting up on someone, then I have bad news for you. Hetero, those who love the opposite sex, do not have thoughts whether men will stand up to men, we do not have such thoughts, they arise only in latent homos, those who love their gender...
@Actiregularis: The first season of Terror is amazing: cast, dialogues, how the narrative goes, color, but these are still two very different series (and two dissimilar primary sources), why compare.
@Actiregularis: sailed on ships to the north many years ago and.... and that's it (well, almost, I don't want to write spoilers for one series in the comments under another). In my opinion, they are different, of course. A lot of things in Terror — drama, suspense, and even relationships in the team — were built largely on the visual series. It's perfectly done there, it's so filmed that the subzero temperature is felt. For very impressionable people, an almost immersive adventure is for sure. And this series is made differently, even despite the relatively similar plot, artistically it is different, not like Terror, and accordingly the impression is different. In Terror, such an actor's galaxy is still, one is better than the other, all very expressive. And here Farrell and O'Connell are together, in fact, they are both great, but I would like more scenes together.
@Actiregularis: despite the fact that the book Terror is super, the series seemed boring to me. Beautifully shot, but boring. I remember that there are differences from the book, as always. Why they filmed the second season is unclear. This one is also based on the book, quite good, surprisingly. While on the book, it feels like some lines are straight out of the book.
It's only the second series, and already I want the whole crew (well, except Sumner, maybe) to go to the bottom together with the ship as soon as possible; if their whale sinks, then it will be perfect in general :) Pharrell and Spruell are very good, it just skews away from their characters. Well, O'Connell and Graham are still great.
I wonder why, in search of the rapist, they did not examine everyone on the ship? Of course, there are probably not a few carriers of a suitable venereal, but at least the circle of suspects could be narrowed down. In addition, in addition to the disease, it was possible to find other factors indicating the attacker.
@symkun_0: the interests are not the same :) But crashing into an iceberg and getting an insurance payout is a top priority. And the crew, to hell with it, according to the captain and his henchman

amazing work of a sound engineer
the effect of full immersion in "there and then"
