@NeverMaze: Then it will "hurt or something". Although it's also bullshit. "He's clueing for looks" - that's funny, yeah. You are familiar with the metaphor of "Elephant in the room", I hope? Then you definitely understood all the humor.
I liked this episode. Three investigations (about a guardsman, a major and a ghost) that intertwined into one, the denouement of which came not just anywhere, but at John Watson's wedding. At the same time, all these intricacies looked very logical, and not like a piano that had been standing in the bushes all this time.
How did Sherlock fail to solve the attempted murder of a guardsman? Didn't he look at the clothes? The stiletto the guardsman had been stabbed with couldn't have gone anywhere. Even if this pin had disappeared into thin air, the hole on the uniform and belt would still have remained. That photographer made too many gestures to carry out his vengeful plan. And the assassination on the life of the guardsman failed; so it is surprising that the photographer did not change his plan, despite the fact that this plan has already failed once.
That is, a person can be pierced like a barbecue and he, being in a sober mind and solid memory, will not even notice it if he is wearing a soldier's belt? There is certainly some magic in this belt, but I doubt that to such an extent. Let the authors of the plot at least try to stick a needle through their belt before they sell such crap.
@id6931682: the intervention of the "Destroyers of Legends" is required here. If they haven't filmed a story on this myth yet, then let them. Sherlock in the series, it seems, referred to the "general opinion"; that as long as someone is wearing such a belt, none of these "someone" will feel a needle prick.
@gtobok: well, yes, and the destroyers of legends should check out the version that Sherlock did not crash falling from the roof because he had an umbrella with him, which he opened at the right moment. After all, there is such a "general opinion" in certain circles that umbrellas help in such cases.
A mixture of wild laughter and "oh my God, when is this going to end." Sherlock, leaving the wedding before everyone else, and Jim was supposed to come around the corner to him in Westwood, safe and sound, because now it's just the two of them. Well, Mycroft and Irene, but still. Two lonelies in their own universe. And if Mary is Pham!Moran? What if Mary is Jim's sister? Ah.
The series is unreal! as for me, the series only gets better over time... At first, I just liked watching it, although I don't like this kind of thing.. but this particular series is awesome!
I actually didn't really like at first that Watson would have a wife, it didn't seem to fit in, but then.. she turned out to be quite cunning and smart, so she is perfect for this crazy couple) And the most important quality in her is that she is not against this friendship, but only pushes her husband to further investigations, which I really like! I really liked the series and the series in general!
It was written above that this episode is about how Sherlock values Watson. Of course, it seems to be so... For me, this episode is primarily about how Sherlock thinks. We haven't been shown what's going on in his head for so long. And this is a complete thrill! So inventive, so driving, so dizzying. At first, I was very bored by this speech, but when it turned out that a detective mystery was being told right in it, I cheered up. And the second half of the episode was actually watched in one go.
It's a good episode. A lot of funny gags, interesting stories, an unusual task (albeit quite easy, except that it's hard to guess with a belt). I liked the episode, it's the lightest and most relaxed in all 3 seasons.
I really liked the series! Now it's definitely one of my favorites🥰 I won't get tired of repeating that I fell in love with this series from the first episode, the series is gorgeous! I'm happy for John and Mary. I don't want Sherlock to be left alone without John. Of course, he won't stay without him, but John is now married and preparing to become a father. And Sherlock will stay in the apartment alone, next door to Mrs. Hudson. Sherlock is a very good friend, touched by his speech at the wedding itself, and his words at the end..🥺
The best man's speech is just amazing! They show that he is capable of being friends, she cried when John rushed to hug him. It would be great if every person had such a friendship. And this episode is also the most mysterious, because throughout almost the entire series it was shown that Sherlock is not at all omnipotent, and he is not able to solve all mysterious cases immediately. I felt very sorry for Major Sholto...
It's a very good series. There was both joy and sadness in her. The sadness is that if Mary is there, then somehow it seems that John will spend less time with Sherlock. I don't know, I don't really like it when it happens on TV shows, I hope it doesn't happen here. Lucky because John and Mary, they're going to be great parents. I'm really happy for them, but again, I don't like when children are introduced in the series? as well as weddings and so on, but does everything look somehow... harmonious here? And Sherlock is gorgeous in this episode.
Somehow it so happened that, apparently, at the stage of the release of the series, I lost interest in it, and for many years I had two unseen episodes on my mind - this and the next. And then I watched the fourth season and the impression was completely blurred, which delayed the viewing even more. As a result, I'm looking at 2022. In the spirit of Sherlock, the whole episode is good, although I wanted more investigations, but the lamp atmosphere is also nothing. I liked the sign of three and the connection with the Doctor, Amy, and Rory, which I think Moffat was doing around that time. Wholock is a whole phenomenon. Those were two of my favorite shows. A whole epoch. Sherlock was the beginning of my love for British TV series, which lasted for many, many years (you can say that I spent my youth on these series and most of the series in my mind are from those British series marathons that Sherlock inspired me to at the time, but I don't regret it - there was a lot of fandom communication and a lot of emotions, my student years were what they are) and apparently they are ending now: I just can't look at modern British and more broadly Western ones - as if everything alive is emasculated there, there is no soulfulness and more broadly there is no soul, and there is only darkness. Even Doctor Who is my favorite TV series, my "best friend" - it's very difficult for me to watch it now and I do not know if I will watch the next season. Tenth, there was an amazing era of British TV series, many of which I just adored, but in general, in 2022, this series looks like it's from another planet.
@Jusha: I remember that at that time this series was perceived as such evidence of greater humanity and many fans of the series were a little shocked, this fact touched them to the quick, as far as I remember) Of course, now I have already experienced a very small share of emotions from watching, maybe the hype was gone, or maybe just the age)
A fantastic series! There are so many positive emotions from watching, starting with the bachelor party and ending with the wedding and quite an interesting business. And I also want to say that the relationship between Sherlock and Mary is just my everything.😭(not in the plan as a thorn) The way they both love John, the way Mary talks to Sherlock, the way she listened to Holmes's speech with a big smile.😭 I also realized during this episode that John was really lucky to find a wife like Mariah.
"How did he know before I did, I'm a damn doctor." "You're off." - It's your day off! - That's it, don't panic. - I'm not panicking! - I'm pregnant, I'm panicking!

For some reason, I felt sad when Sherlock just left, leaving the notes in an envelope (if I understood correctly).
A great episode! The touching moments of the wedding, and the long but no less interesting speech-Sherlock's monologue — were interesting to watch from beginning to end!
I remembered that there was a wedding, that they were playing "Guess who I am", I remembered that there was something about a guardsman, then when watching I remembered that the victim was a military man. but everything else is like the first time. It was interesting
At first they attacked every six months, now every 3 months? Anderson got fired, and Donovan is still on the case? Although she started slandering Sherlock. Would poor Lestrade have strangled Sherlock on the spot, like Watson did in the last episode? 🤣 How sweet it is that Sherlock makes sure that no one even potentially tries to steal his wife away. And that smile Sherlock froze 🤣 It wouldn't hurt to remove the animations (for simplicity and economy) Short films about the cases mentioned, especially the elephant in the room 😆 "My husband is three people at once": let me guess - does he use a plural pronoun like Ezra Miller or Emma D'Arcy? 😁 It's nice how Mary cares about preserving John and Sherlock's friendship. The other one would do anything to stop them dating, and she would say, "help him, find a case, prove that nothing will change between you." 🥰 Who else during the investigations forgot that all this was a retelling at the wedding? At least when we returned to the wedding after the second case , it was unexpected 😅 The sign of three
P. S. Was I the only one who thought the photographer looked like Ashton Kutcher? 😅
Fun facts * In one of the newspapers at the beginning of the series, you can notice criticism of the unnamed mayor of London. viewers assumed that it was directed at Boris Johnson. When asked for comments, he replied that this joke was legitimate as a political satire and in general it could be attributed to the previous mayor. The BBC stated that "Sherlock" is a fictional series, and the newspaper shown and the mayor indicated are fictional and have no political motivation. * When Mary convinces Sherlock and John to each take the other on a case, she stands with horns on the wall, and they seem to grow on her head. * John's blog does not talk about the elephant, pointing out the impossibility due to the law on the storage of state secrets (Official Secrets Act) * Criticism about the unreality of murder with a knife is at least partially unfair, because a similar thing happened to Elizabeth of Bavaria, Empress of Austria, aka Sisi. In her cases, there was not a belt, but a corset, and instead of a knife, an industrial file. * A reference to "Pulp Fiction" is a kind of luminous object that we do not see. * A reference to the "Dark Knight": here and there it all starts with a bank robbery by a gang in clown masks. * In a deleted scene, Sherlock suggests to Watson that his (John's) mother give the speech, but he replies that she is dead. * When a drunk Sherlock says about a sleeping Watson, "I apologize for mine... yours... for him," Benedict Cumberbatch forgot his words when shooting, and the resulting material was so good that they decided to leave it that way. * Interestingly, the series was released in January 2014, and in May 2013, the drummer of the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Infantry Regiment (Royal Regiment of Fusiliers) was killed by terrorists Lee Rigby, therefore, depending on when this scene was written, one can understand the paranoia of an officer who does not want to let Watson inside the barracks and considers him and Sherlock responsible for the murder. * The clothes of the Grenadiers are actually the Welsh Guards
It's a great episode, I would even say that it's the best in the series. I really like the way Moffat takes the plots of Sir Conan Doyle and changes them so that you sit on your ass, but the beauty of the series is not even in this (although the Sign of Four is my favorite story), but in the same duet and chemistry between Freeman and Cumberbatch. And together with Mary, they actually created vibes of Ponds with the Doctor here. Well, I also love it when several flashbacks and intersections intertwine into one.
Sherlock, leaving John's wedding, puts on a coat in the spirit of Dr. Strange, leaving Christina's wedding and also putting on a raincoat))It's interesting))
One of the best episodes! here you can laugh heartily, and cry with emotion and the all-encompassing loneliness of Sherlock. and the scene where they're both drunk is just incredible!
I've watched the entire series five times. and it's still interesting!
