God, this is Strike's moment at home. Ever since I read the book, I've been thinking what kind of crazy brakes they are, but on the screen it's just a brain explosion. And the scene at the very end of the episode just breaks my heart. They are such bunnies, how can you look at them and not be touched 🛐
I came to add something that I didn't notice right away The line with Charlotte was completely cut out. Very sorry. There was a very big overload for Strike with her eternal problems and the fact that she was already in a mental hospital. Her obsession with Food got out of control altogether (if any control is applicable to this woman at all), and we were shown nothing🗿🗿
Unfortunately, they cut a lot of things out of the plot, and in my opinion the series lost it. I did not think that I would become the person who says that "the book is better than the film adaptation," but the plot is really better. But the main two actors are ideal for me, Cormoran and Robin, and now, reading the book, I see them exactly. At least for this, we can thank the series. Now I'm reading the 6th book and I'm already afraid of how much they will cut its plot. After all, 4 episodes is well, very little for those bricks that Rowling produces in this series about Strike. Of all the hurtful moments that were cut, compared to the book for me: 1. The whole Charlotte story - I just wonder how they will weave it into the plot of the next season, because the book pays a lot of attention to this. 2. Strike found out about the harassment of one of the hired workers and sent him away himself. Here they did that Robin herself solved it perfectly and generally gave him a great rebuff, but I wanted to see more interaction / help from Strike, otherwise he is a little passive in the series. In the book, as well, but there we can track him down and so we understand him more. And in the series, he stupidly drinks, shames Robin in front of his friends / brother and she forgives him (because of his difficult life, also the situation with Joan). 3. The details of the investigation and in general the very moment when the main villain revealed her crimes - a couple of clues were not mentioned at all, well, okay, maybe not so important for such a small timekeeping, but the confession in the book for me was more shocking, impressive, in the series it was more crumpled and because of this less hooked.
To sum up, I still love this story, I will finish reading books 6 and 7, and if Rowling writes more, I will also wait and read. The series will also be waiting for the new season. But I think neither the book nor the series can be expected in the next couple of years, or rather it will be released in 2024, most likely, we will see…
A great season has come out. It's just beyond praise. And of course the star here is Robin. She plays a major role in this case. Of course, Robin, investigating this case, tries on situations for himself and compares them with himself. That's why she gets blown away sometimes. I doubt a little that Rowling, when she started writing novels about Strike, thought that she would write novels about a strong woman resisting the blows of fate and building a career in spite of. But it turned out how it turned out. And Robin is a really strong woman. I think they'll be fine in season 6. And Cormoran began to change.
I also love the character Robin, both in the book and in the series. She's just incredible. That's what kind of women you want to see more on the screens.
@Kookabara: and I have a question for Rowling, when she will already put the female character in the first place, and will not make her a smart assistant to the male character. I see Rowling in the actress.
They have already written about the zayek - I also see them together) Oh, that pony))) I was afraid that without reading the book, it would not be so interesting. It turned out not to be so and a very unexpected outcome for me
Grandma is a real MONSTER and I'm already omitting the fact that she's a maniac, but practically sacrificing her own son for the sake of some guy...🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ this is a crash (I will never understand such women, although maybe I'm just not crazy)) ) The ending 💖💖💖 - I like both, but you have to live with them....))
I've been waiting for the new season for a long time. It was the first time I looked at it without first reading the book. The ending is wonderful! I just don't understand why it was possible to find this season much earlier than it is indicated here on the website in the calendar. And the season number is 4, not 5. A mystery...
Yes, I'm surprised too.. Sometimes I don't remember what day it was last week, well, let's say they had to focus on the interrogations and repeat it repeatedly, plus they obviously told their loved ones what happened, so it stuck in my memory.
The series showed these episodes very well. From less than in the book, but it was possible to display that these two are attracted to each other, that there is a spark. So the writers did it.
I liked this season less than the previous ones, and (I'm very ashamed) a big role in this was played by the fact that Holliday Granger suddenly wasn't blonde. The absence of her strawberry blonde hair just really ruined my impression. Well, the cut-up plot, the absence of Charlotte, all that. But the end destroyed me, the phrase about the best friend was not in the book, why are they so. Another big minus is that they didn't show us how Brian was informed that his daughter had been found, it just hurts that we didn't see it.
@Mrs_Spock: There was no phrase at the end, but there was a dialogue where they confessed to each other that they considered themselves best friends (just when Robert was sitting in Strike's apartment with a drink). We decided to combine the two events at the end. I agree about Charlotte, in fact, in the book we can say that a line was drawn with her at all and she occupied a significant place in this book, plus in the next (6th book), she will also be very famous. Then, perhaps, next season its branch will simply be cut out 🤔
We have to sacrifice something in order not to overload the series for those who have not read it, because it is difficult to navigate banally who is who, if you do not remember the previous seasons yet. So we decided to cut this branch for the viewer
Regarding the girl's father, I agree right here, since we decided to show this branch in detail, we need to bring it to the end and show the end of that story..
@Mrs_Spock: I don't know how it was in the book, I just started the first one, but in the series Robin clearly panicked when Strike went up a step, so it's understandable that it's two steps forward, one back. Cormoran is still not quite sure of himself and that the relationship will work out, and not deteriorate.
I just remember about my best friend. It was just in another scene. Strike tells Robin about his friend Polworth (that he will come to London, like), says that Robin is unlikely to like him. She asks, but isn't he your best friend? Then Strike replies that Robin is his best friend, and Polworth is his oldest friend.
I really liked the last episode - the acting, as shown by the denouement, and especially the last scene. I remember well the thoughts of the characters about this situation with the failed kiss. It seems to me that the actors played this moment clearly, especially Robin's look is worth noting.
Eh, now a new season has to wait again… It is very interesting how they will show their correspondence in Internet chats in the new season. After all, the whole book is based on this…
Pat imagined it in a completely different way (where are the cigarettes and the voice that was mistaken for a man's on the phone?), but her sense of humor pleasantly compensated for everything.
The detective genre is one of my favorites, and this season, as for me, the investigation was one of the best! I don't like "romantic" movies, but it seems that's why I watch this series.
I liked the series. A very successful cast. Although, when compared with books, movies lose. But all the same, interesting impressions remain from viewing.
For the first time I noticed the cool atmosphere of the series: grey London, rainy weather, coats, sullenness, very beautiful streets and houses, as well as the screensaver with the song 😍 Few people have noted a very strong scene with Aunt Strike's farewell. The actor just plays very well and fits the role at 10/10, the best. I read the book and at least I have a couple of questions about adapting the script, they did well, because the book was big and imho quite long, but here they did everything locanically, which is partly a plus and partly a minus, because the case in the book is shown as sooo complicated. Due to the fact that the reliability of many facts could be distorted, and in general, they had this case in the book for more than a year! And then they showed that everything goes easily, it's probably wrong. In the book, there was always the disappointment of either Strike or Robin from the doom of the case. A bunch of clues to nowhere, a bunch of already deceased heroes of the event, and so on. This is especially the case was hooked by Robin and she had a strong human desire to reveal it because of the strong impatii to Margo and this time the feasibility of the mission was catchy, that it was possible to believe that it is doomed, and with him they fail, no further use to them to do and to spend so much time and effort 🥲. When a strong positive belief in disclosure from Robin turns into despondency and hopelessness, which makes you give up, because it's true at some point it can be completely irrational, it looked very powerful in the book. It's not clear in the series, but I liked the season, it was eventful and the cast of actors is very good. I will be waiting for the film adaptation of the next novel. And it will be a challenge for screenwriters and cameramen, because a lot of events take place in the game on the phone and in Twitter dialogues. I wonder how it will be shown. I think "Strike" will be similar to "Sherlock" in the next part in visualization 😅
When you know that the main villain in real life is Tom Burke's mother (Strike), watching their final scene is even more entertaining 😅 “It would’ve been nice… to have killed you though” 😈
It was a good season, of course, but the whole case was badly screwed up and a lot of the investigation was removed altogether. This of course upset me the most. Well, there was very little disclosure of Strike himself and his experiences here, but it's a pity.
What a cute ending to the series: balloons and perfume as a gift :') When will Robin and Strike get married? I also noted the moment when the delivery guy said "Mrs. Strike" to Robin. ♡
I only read the first book, and somehow I didn't really catch on, I didn't read the others, so there's nothing to compare it with. And I must admit that I really, really like the series. The actors are wonderful, the characters are lively and interesting, the picture and soundtrack are atmospheric. I liked this season much more than the previous one, the story and its denouement are just goosebumps
кажется перебудила всех соседей, когда возмущалась с финальной фразы! ну какой, бл*дь, лучший друг! Страйк, ну что ты творишь?( сделай уже первый шаг, сколько можно ждать)
People, I just found this series and immediately swallowed it, I don't really understand if there will be a sequel? There seems to be another book that has not been filmed. Who knows, they're already shooting a Strike on her?
@Maura_Isles: thank you! The waiting mode is activated 😊 Do you know something similar from the TV series? Not Sherlock, maybe something else. "Murder in the Bay" looked, "Dublin murders" too, did not take.
@Ksust: murder on the beach/Broadchurch, purely English murders, the secrets of Brokenwood, Bridge, Hidden, Happy Valley, Mair of Easttown, Shetland, The Forgotten
For me, this is the best season in the series. A very interesting detective story with an unexpected ending; a wonderful personal line between Robin and Strike. The end is just so sweet ☺️ I'm waiting for season 6 🙌🏻
The main actors play just fine, I believe very, very much this chemistry between them with the naked eye, I would like the new season not to be too long in coming))
And the scene at the very end of the episode just breaks my heart. They are such bunnies, how can you look at them and not be touched 🛐
