It's not like they had a choice to start shooting or not. The mother could have hidden herself, so that's not a reproach either, the shooting is the same.

We finished in the middle, obviously there should be another season by design, but I agree with the comment above

And this, I'm not afraid of the word "bullying" dragged on all season. Last season, when Mike found out about Iris's rape, he didn't hesitate to shoot down a house full of Aryans. This season, Mike just walks around, non-stop chewing snot and saying "I'll figure it out, don't do anything stupid" to every character within a three-meter radius. All the brutality of the first season has been lost.
It feels like Sheridan was too busy working on a dozen Yellowstone spin-offs and handed in a vague draft instead of a full-fledged script. They approved the draft without looking at it and started shooting complete crap on it. As a result, the output turned out to be complete crap. It would have been better if Mike and Iris had gone trout fishing at the end of the first season and that was the end of it.
Iris died inside, beaten off her head, and no thoughtful actions could be expected from her. The decoration is nothing more. That's what all the characters around were talking about. It's just that for Mike to save her is a kind of point that he's still doing everything right.
Previously, as I understand it, his "position" was to help the population, among other things. He has an office for that. But this season the population has disappeared somewhere.
The plot with the assistant was completely fucked up. As with the FBI, for example. They just disappeared somewhere when there is such a lot of space in this town. You can build a career.
Mike seems to have lost almost all the authority of his brother's "position" this season. If someone says "no" to him, nothing happened.
I sincerely feel sorry for the entire cast, who looked so great in the first season, because in the second they had to participate in this diarrhea. From the first to the last second of the second season, everything that happens on the screen, a sane person is simply unable to accept: the behavior and motives of the characters are dumb shit, the dialogues are dumb shit, the staging is crap shit. By the end of the second season, I clearly began to observe in the expressions and eyes of the actors that they did not want to continue acting in this shit.

Как написали выше, то судя по всему Шеридан был занят. Первый сезон весь был написан им, а тут в каждой серии другой сценарист и это изменение повлияло на качество.
Да, наличие нескольких сценаристов может привнести в шоу свежие взгляды и идеи, но я чувствую, что в данном случае это не сыграло на руку.
Впечатление последних нескольких серий первого сезона полностью развеяно.
