30You fall in love with Dexter from the first episode, but with Emma around 10-11
Secondly, well, how could they choose such a completely unattractive girl for the role of Emma, well, there is nothing in her at all!! I remember for the film Jeanne Dubary they wrote about the fact that the actress is ugly, so she may not be very good for some, but then Maiwenn is Great! And here, after watching episode 1, I don't even want to look any further.
(I am not familiar with the film / book, so I naively hope for a happy ending.....)
Or because I'm in love 🥰
I haven't read the book, I watched the movie with Hathaway a couple of years ago. I don't compare the series with anything, and for me the characters look harmonious)
Emma is making her way from the bottom. Protest and anger prevail in her, because she does not live her own life. But it doesn't work out to find yourself.
At the same time, Dexter has money, everything works out and he gets high.
Then the characters are developed in an understandable way (I don't want spoilers for those who suddenly read this).
If this series had an atmosphere like in the movie, then I agree - Ambika would not have been suitable for the role of Emma. But here everything is perceived differently. The series is less serious than that. When comparing, "Normal People" and the "Before" trilogy immediately come to mind, where Ambiguity would also not be suitable.
, I wonder if there will be one episode per year? As if it's not enough, it's been stated for 20 years and it was like that in the film. I wonder which years will combine, somewhere in the mid-90s and 00x mb.
And the Ambika Mod is wonderful and very charismatic, she and Leo instantly got hooked and it's a pleasure to look at them.
And I would never have thought that they would make a TV series.
I watched the first episode and it didn't disappoint. Yes, a couple of points are shown differently, but the essence remains. The actors are different, especially Emma. It's even more interesting this way. The perception is changing a bit. I will look further.
By the way, in some moments or angles gg seems very pretty, I think it will be a matter of habit, just a comparison with Anne Hathaway is not in her favor)
But I watched the movie with Ann a long time ago, one of my favorites. And her heroine turned out to be easier, charismatic, smart, but not too talkative. They met with Dexter naturally, and had a really cool day. In the series, it looks less casual.
The actress is sweet and plays well, she looks like Jasmine, but of course, after Ann, it's hard to perceive someone else. The actor was chosen perfectly.
