@vk513915: maybe it played a role that he didn't kill anyone and kind of repented, although he could have easily killed with a rope around his neck, maybe in France this is the maximum term, although it is unlikely. I Googled the real story, but I didn't find anything specific. The series catches with its realism in the image of both the victim and the work of law enforcement agencies. When there is no murder, then the loaded system and people in it simply dismiss problematic small cases, do not know what to believe and actually just wait 30 years when, thanks to technological progress, the criminal gets on camera. And at the same time, this is a wonderful work of art, not a documentary, very atmospheric, well-written and dynamic in its own way.
I liked how they carried the thread with Kristin Labua through all the episodes, we started with her and finished with her...
The most terrifying thing about this story is the fact that it's not a complete fiction...and the reality has been slightly changed by some facts, but basically that's exactly how it is.
indifference, pain and impunity, the words that were spinning in my head while I was watching. these are the moments with the sketch, with the dna collection, with the car..if in reality these moments were, then I'm totally fucked with their cops, I hope everyone just really didn't give a fuck and they weren't involved in this case, than if it seems like suspicious behavior doesn't give rise to such thoughts)))) how many women has this asshole ruined their lives...I hope at least some of it has fully recovered.
A strong series! They play so plausibly! For 30 years! The negligence of the police is amazing, but it's not murder, that's why they treat you like that, and no one could have thought of a good family man and friend.. In the end, only technological progress helped to catch him after so many years, and he somehow didn't think about the cameras..
