Discussion: Season 1, Episode 1 Join the Discussion
199Ruby is definitely to my liking, and very much resembles Lucy from the recent Fallout, both externally and in behavior, character and reaction to new circumstances and obstacles.
The station of children born but not growing up and a scarecrow made of snot is very absurd, and very doctoral. The Doctor's mental union with another one-of-a-kind being in the universe also reminded the Eleventh. However, that space whale was much nicer.
A very strange choice for the first series. I understand that RTD likes to periodically do children's series like Be Afraid of her, for example, but they usually happen in the middle of the season.
Although I have nothing against it, after all, children also watch the series and they may really like this series. But I would still make the kids a little older, at least 1.5-2 years old, who at least already say a little bit so that the animation of faces was not such a sinister valley. Although in general, Popi was pretty cute, but with the actor who played Eric, it was not good luck.
I really like the seed for the arch of the season with snow. I wonder where this is all going to lead.
Let's look further!
According to the announcement, I have high hopes for the next series. :)
I already said that I liked the arch with Ruby. And we will learn even more about the Tardis, how many things appeared there, it's nice) Well, Joke - I believe, I believe that you are a Doctor!
Jokey and Millie are gorgeous, both the Doctor and the companion are terribly charismatic, they show a strong and unique personality from the first seconds, and they have great dynamics.
She is independent, does not idolize him, may, on occasion, act in defiance of him. Yes, the Doctor is much older and wiser than Ruby, but this does not prevent the two of them from feeling reasonably equal to each other...And Ruby reminds me a lot of Roses, in many ways. 😍
Well, in general, I'm thrilled to be back, I already love Jokes madly, the first episode is cool!!!I went to watch the second one 🙂😇
Of course, the moral of the series is easy to guess, but very in the style of the doctor, a little crazy, fun and with explanations. The diaper moment caused Spanish shame, ahahah.
I liked the babysitter! It was very cool to show it, and in general, the children did not cause rejection, except for the strange animation of the mouth.
I'm really looking forward to the translation of the next episode! A good seed with snow from memories, as well as a mysterious mother.
Jokey is a wonderful actor! The whole atmosphere is held on it
I hope someone will explain this to me)
In general, the series is on 5, I really missed the doctor. It's a pity there is no atmospheric music from the last series, as her husband calls it "victory music"…
regarding the name of the Doctor at the end of the series, this is just an artistic device, because everyone knows exactly what he will say next - my name is the Doctor - instead, music started playing just to switch attention to the screen and make the viewer think that something is wrong with Ruby.
Personally, I jokingly see the doctor, he is exactly what a doctor should be - slightly eccentric and so native✨
Yes, the Doctor is originally for family viewing - I accept and understand.
But when watching this episode, kringe caught an incredible one. As if I was even embarrassed.
The idea seems to be interesting, while these snotty jokes are not mine at all. Children with lips that spoke only evoked a feeling of an ominous valley.
Upset beyond measure after the episode.
And so it seems that the cast is good, and the effects are on the level, but it did not go at all.
It's good that two episodes came out at the same time - I think the next one will be much better)
ahahaha, a wonderful reference))
There are a lot of funny moments, and Jokey is great as a Doctor, she is ready to look at the worst animated mouths of children for him. I hope the next episodes will be stronger!
Kids, cute and that's all, but these animated mouths of course.
Jokey is a wonderful doctor, he's doing great. Such a Vibe.
Of the five episodes released after the return of Russell T. Davis to the post of showrunner ("Star Beast", "Wild Blue Distance", "Chuckle", "The Church on Ruby Road" and "Space Kids") this is the only one so far that is not five stars and, accordingly, automatically the worst. Which nevertheless doesn't make it bad, because there were enough good moments, the main characters are as damn charming as last time, and the only adult character on the ship is also cool.
What existing social problem is aggravated by naming babies as larvae? Yes, nothing)
And where did you imagine the oppressed from the word "man"? This is a separate mystery, it's probably great to fight against fictional problems that do not exist)
There was no intrigue in the series as such, but this impression did not spoil for me.
The finale of the series, if I saw it correctly, confirmed that Ruby is human, but something will be wrong with her anyway🤔🫣
I even wondered if she was one of those spaceships herself, but that's unlikely.…
and since when is the Doctor a receptionist?.. Or has it always been and I just forgot
But to give the whole series to a kindergarten and a cringe with snot and farting, I didn't have enough imagination. It turned out to be boring and sometimes unpleasant to watch.
they advertised it as the start of the season, so the rush still doesn't quite count for the first series
for most, this series is in fact what it is, no matter what Disney has there, because it was a long time ago, and the whole season is now underway and advertised as the premiere of the season talking about these episodes, therefore the perception is logical.
I really liked the duet of the Doctor and Ruby. The actors are bright, charismatic. The chemistry between them is there, it's just a test.
But the series itself seemed wildly boring. Periodically I looked at how much there is still to the end. If it weren't for the playful Jokes with Millie, I would have quit in the middle. I don't know, even the first episode with Rose and the Ninth seemed quite cheerful. It also seems to be a chase, and an action game, and a mystery with Ruby...but it feels burdensome.
I understand everyone who has associations with the Eleventh and Rose. They were the youngest (from new school for sure). That is, the companions, of course, were all young, but in Rose this youth felt different, she believed. I don't know what words to describe it.
The series is a passing one for me, but a great job has been done to engage a new audience! I once started watching season 5 and I was pleased that I was smoothly brought up to date. We are waiting for a replenishment among the Hoovians who did not dare to watch 13 seasons.
For a new viewer, this episode is not the first, on Disney Plus it is listed as the second, the first episode for them is "The Church on Ruby Road". And everywhere they just wrote that the season premiere would be a three-part series, the Church-Kids-Accord.
If a person makes a conclusion based on only one episode, well, xs, xs, I usually give the first 3-4 episodes a chance and then decide whether to continue watching or not, people don't seem to be idiots.
But speaking about my experience, I once showed a friend the full first season, (2005) she honestly watched all 13 episodes, and said that the series with Jack were cool, the rest were cool, she did not continue to watch)))
A monster made of snot, breathing oxygen (!), and a ship powered by shit - they just ask for cheap comedies of the 1990s. A strange world where the gene pool is condoned.
There is no chemistry between the actors. An inept actress with a small range of emotions was chosen for the role of a companion. The relaunch of the recreation center did not begin in vain with Rosa, an ordinary girl from the working quarter, and an atmosphere of mystery was created around Ruby.
Unfortunately, RTD repeats itself in this series. Ruby is outwardly copied from the Rose. The new companion, following the example of Rosa, will violate the Doctor's ban. RTD has always presented morality subtly, but now he has adopted Chibnell's feature of voicing morality head-on like Brezhnev's five-year plan.
I hope the first pancake is lumpy.
The best moment was about the butterfly.
It will be interesting to find out who Ruby is (suddenly she is the daughter of the main villain or she is the main villain herself). Most likely, she has powers (snow hints at this).
It will also be interesting to see the fate of the universe after Flax.
On the other hand, it feels like this is a reboot and for the diaper generation, everything is told with chewing from the very beginning, but so far everything is very, very bad... and the only bright spot is the bukakke on Ruby's face and hair.
Yes, it's tough.
The plot seems to be from the Adventures of Sarah Jane that was not included in the 34, the snotty monster is more ridiculous than scary, the space kids scare me even more - they are very creepy when they talk.
There is a lot of strange chatter - they tell more than they show.
A doctor running around, twirling some sliders and shouting his guesses - this is canon, this is class. The rest is still confusing. The last episode about burping goblins, this snot-farting buffoonery - hmm... as if the first restart was a little more adult after all. Well, it's too explicit a pronouncement of morality. Yes, this has often happened in the Doctor, but since the first episode - something too much.
But I am still loyal to what is happening and I want to see what happens next.
There's also a refugee monster.)
I love the pilot episodes. There is something magical about them. It's like a new chapter in the series and an absolutely amazing new story awaits us. So far, the pilot from season 10 takes my first place, but this episode is so perky, I hope the whole season will be like this
I like both the new doctor and Ruby as a companion in general, but this is her perception - as if she did not meet a time lord, but purely some rich person who took her for a ride on a private plane, the world showed - this is strange
, but the plot of the series itself, children with speakers apart from their lips.... It was quite disappointing. I liked the Christmas episode much more
The scene with the phone on the background of a huge porthole is a visual self-citation
And the paradox of changing your own past, too (do you still remember the series about Rosa's father?)
In general, I even liked the series more than the Church on Ruby Roads, there was no Christmas there, there was no slender plot, somehow everything was moving back and forth, at least everything is harmonious and clear here. Of course, the children are terrible, well, okay, I hope we won't see them again :D
And anyway, it's a pretty strange episode for the start of the season. Sit-down babies with the sinister valley effect? A snot monster? A fart-powered ship? And, of course, that very special special companion (please, let her not be a lady in distress, I beg you), on whom the whole season will be tied. Self-references, self-repetitions, self-bowing. Attatat.
I really hope for RTD: I was waiting for his return, the series with 14m came out quite encouraging. But so far, what is happening is only puzzling. Hopefully, the first episode won't set the tone for the whole season.
..And then the inclusive kringe began with the value in the uniqueness of the snotty monster alone, who is also "one of the children", and they completely lost me...
Dude, really? You literally became two two episodes ago in the truest sense)))))
But something seems to be wrong. All Doctors had their own "feature"; the last one, it seems that she is banally alone - a soft reboot for the sake of a soft reboot, in order to attract a new audience and enter the North American market
At the same time, it is absolutely normal for fans of old versions of works to drink (at least for the first time) something in the spirit of "it used to be better"))
The nozzle and the method of station placement - 🔥
Eric is clearly holding back the pain or scared shitless. It would be better to make it completely computer-based. His lines don't match his face.
A series of norms, but again they stuffed an agenda about migrants. Like, migrants die thousands of years later, but we won't say anything about the fact that they don't assimilate and sit on a well.
And why save a monster from snot, so that what? The most epic, of course, is to direct the station, which has no brakes, to the planet.
But in general, a series of norms. Not bad. There is also a mystery with Ruby's mother and hints that Ruby herself is either the daughter of a Doctor, or a time lord.
Here's another moment where the Doctor said he was the last of his kind. But what about bigeneration? At least the Fourteenth remained alive in the same universe. At most, every incarnation of the Doctor. A tooth remained from the Master, which was seized. Well, if he believed the Master's lies about the destroyed Gallifrey, then he should not have called himself a time lord, he is a girl, either abandoned or fallen out of the portal.
Yes, a new companion will appear in the second season, played by Varada Setu, but Millie Gibson is not leaving, and the story of Ruby Sunday will remain an important part of Doctor Who in the second season. It's hard to say whether we will have two companions at the same time or Ruby will just become a returning character like River Song, but we can definitely say that Ruby will not stay for just one season, but at least two
Thank you very much. Otherwise, how will Bill be? Just be happy, and that's it.
I can't understand why those who don't like Doctor Who can't just send it to "Stopped watching" instead of, excuse my French, shitting in the comments, preventing sincere fans of the series from enjoying the spectacle in the company of the same fans? I don't mind criticizing the series as a whole, I also didn't really like "Space Kids" and "Devil's Chord", and I honestly wrote that I didn't like the booger monster, the fart-powered engine and a couple of plot solutions from the next episode. But "Boom!" and "73 yards" were awesome for my taste. However, instead of fair and appropriate criticism, some commentators descend to a senseless and unjustified haight, which is then supported by the same commentators. To see such a sharp negative in the comments prevented them from enjoying the seasons with the Thirteenth Doctor and is now being repeated in a technically new series, which old viewers do not even have to watch, because "Doctor Who" 2005-2023 has already gone to their "Fully viewed" section
The first episode is not the first because, as before, since 2006, Doctor Who has special editions - Christmas, New Year, Easter and anniversary ones, which on MyShows are not displayed in the "My Series" tab without an enabled PRO account
Where to watch - most likely in the same place where they usually watched. If it's not there, well, Google "Doctor Who 2024 watch online for free", what is it like your first day on the Internet? If anything, I'm waiting for Russian subtitles in the VKontakte group TeamTardis
I don't know how to watch it, from what point you had a deadlock, so I'll start from afar - after season 13 there is a New Year's special "Eve of the Daleks", then an Easter special "Legend of Sea Devils", then a special edition in honor of the 100th anniversary of the BBC channel "Power of Doctor", this formally ends the old one the series. Then a new one begins - first there is the short film "Destination: Skaro" for the program "Children in Need 2023" and three special editions in honor of the 60th anniversary of the series - "Star Beast", "Wild Blue Yonder" and "The Giggle", then the Christmas special "Church on Ruby Road" after which season 1 begins. And don't swear, you either knew what you were signing up for, or you've been missing special releases for 18 years already.
Plus, there were three more anniversary specials with David Tennant for the 60th anniversary of the series and a mini-release with him for Children in Need
They are all listed on the series page
Maybe someday I'll come back to watching the series.
I was just interested in the new doctor, and so to speak, updating the numbering of the seasons)
Or if you want to get a more complete picture, understand about the 14th and why the current doctor is the 15th, etc., then first look at the entire season 4 (with all the final haste), and then all the haste released in the current season. You don't have to look at everything else in between.
That is, I would get really high if every season was a complete story in this silent world. Maybe it will come to that someday
Just who likes what.
I didn't get it.: The doctor who talks about Babies all the time - oh, space babies! - is this a reference, meta, or what is it? Why are you so tired of it so many times?
But the idea that everyone deserves to be saved is very much in the spirit of the Doctor.
And also a great banter over "prolayers", when Ruby tries to understand how it is "on the planet they refused to stop the birth of children, but they abandon them immediately after birth.
and then the children appeared and the rating of the series immediately dropped two stars, then another monster of snot and methane thrust and 2 more flew...
In fact, the moment with the butterfly is the best part of the series.
I was hoping for RTD, after the previous crazy and failed stories.
I specifically didn't watch one at a time, so I decided to spoof everyone after the release.
I REALLY hope that things will get better, but my spidey gut tells me that they won't.
Or was it a prerequisite for Disney to sponsor
anyone, To be honest, I'm greedy for some kind of setup for the first half of the series, like that these children will turn out to be monsters, and the Doctor and Ruby are awesome who they nursed at the beginning of the series)
What is this all about :DD
For 6 whole years diapers with a bunch of..there were a lot of nasty things piling up to shoot this station)))
"It was a special madness", every time I wonder how the screenwriters come up with new creatures and new worlds /ships/universes/stations for the same series for more than 50 years, while supporting its concept)
Matt Smith as a doctor is perfect for joining the universe
I wonder if the master or Galifrey will appear this season😀
The fact that some other sites don't take this into account is not the problem of the series at all.
Space kids are one continuous emotion)
The mystery of Ruby's birth is intriguing, and the companion herself is interesting. Let's see what happens next.
