Maybe we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves, but so far I like it. Although the general mood is more reminiscent of the era of the Eleventh than of someone from RTD, but maybe I just forgot the first seasons.
Ruby is definitely to my liking, and very much resembles Lucy from the recent Fallout, both externally and in behavior, character and reaction to new circumstances and obstacles.
The station of children born but not growing up and a scarecrow made of snot is very absurd, and very doctoral. The Doctor's mental union with another one-of-a-kind being in the universe also reminded the Eleventh. However, that space whale was much nicer.

The Doctor's reaction to the origin of the Boogeyman is just top. He laughed out loud.
A very strange choice for the first series. I understand that RTD likes to periodically do children's series like Be Afraid of her, for example, but they usually happen in the middle of the season.
Although I have nothing against it, after all, children also watch the series and they may really like this series. But I would still make the kids a little older, at least 1.5-2 years old, who at least already say a little bit so that the animation of faces was not such a sinister valley. Although in general, Popi was pretty cute, but with the actor who played Eric, it was not good luck.

I really like the seed for the arch of the season with snow. I wonder where this is all going to lead.
Let's look further!

Hyyy, I can smell the madness of the first seasons of the Doctor's relaunch. Despite the blunders, Eric the puppet in pursuit and the funny deepfake, it was very cool! And the idea of a baby ship is just lovely! And it's also nice to see Golda Rochevel.

I already said that I liked the arch with Ruby. And we will learn even more about the Tardis, how many things appeared there, it's nice) Well, Joke - I believe, I believe that you are a Doctor!

I love them so much, just in general, I liked the numerous references to previous seasons..The kids are cute, of course, but here are the kids... They were abandoned... And they're in space.... Just like the Doctor... And just like Ruby... in my mind, so to speak... Deeply ....
Jokey and Millie are gorgeous, both the Doctor and the companion are terribly charismatic, they show a strong and unique personality from the first seconds, and they have great dynamics.
She is independent, does not idolize him, may, on occasion, act in defiance of him. Yes, the Doctor is much older and wiser than Ruby, but this does not prevent the two of them from feeling reasonably equal to each other...And Ruby reminds me a lot of Roses, in many ways. 😍
Well, in general, I'm thrilled to be back, I already love Jokes madly, the first episode is cool!!!I went to watch the second one 🙂😇

It was so nice to see the reference to the first episodes with Rose, mother's call, I appreciated it!

Of course, the moral of the series is easy to guess, but very in the style of the doctor, a little crazy, fun and with explanations. The diaper moment caused Spanish shame, ahahah.

I liked the babysitter! It was very cool to show it, and in general, the children did not cause rejection, except for the strange animation of the mouth.

I'm really looking forward to the translation of the next episode! A good seed with snow from memories, as well as a mysterious mother.

I didn't understand the series finale a bit when he launched Ruby's scan into the tardis, and said my name... and then there was music…
I hope someone will explain this to me)
In general, the series is on 5, I really missed the doctor. It's a pity there is no atmospheric music from the last series, as her husband calls it "victory music"…
ArtemGrebnev
ArtemGrebnev
11 May 16:44 # Show original
@KisJulVl: I think there's something hidden behind her name too. There, her data in the Tardis shows the age of 10 years and 3 hours, and it starts to snow. Probably, her origin and the main villain, who has already been mentioned twice, will be connected. Both the Toymaker and the Maestro had some visual special effects from their powers, as well as snow from Ruby's memories. Even in the second series, the action takes place in the Abbey Road studio, and abbey is an abbey or monastery. And Ruby Sunday was sent to a monastery on Ruby Road. Although this may not be a reference to the finale. Maybe she will be the child of one of the deities or their harbinger, like the boy from the second series, or maybe he was shown for a reason a second time at the end of the second series, and later he will appear again.

@ArtemGrebnev: It also seemed like 10 years at first, but if you look closely, it's 19 years and 3 hours, which corresponds to her date of birth from the wiki. 3 o'clock, because it's Christmas, and from this you can only take out that she was really born on this day. some oddities have not yet been shown on that screen, and by the way, the full scan has not yet been completed.

regarding the name of the Doctor at the end of the series, this is just an artistic device, because everyone knows exactly what he will say next - my name is the Doctor - instead, music started playing just to switch attention to the screen and make the viewer think that something is wrong with Ruby.

The series is certainly weaker than the Christmas one, but it is clear that it is aimed at beginners as much as possible and, as for me, it copes with this better than the 1st series of the modern DC (2005). She introduces better into the ENT of the DC, into the basics of the series, the best interaction of the Satellite and the Doctor, and even abundantly sprinkles seeds on the arch of the season, etc. In short, it's perfect for beginners, but for old people, the second series is probably more. In general, the seven is quite good.

Yes, the Doctor is originally for family viewing - I accept and understand.
But when watching this episode, kringe caught an incredible one. As if I was even embarrassed.
The idea seems to be interesting, while these snotty jokes are not mine at all. Children with lips that spoke only evoked a feeling of an ominous valley.
Upset beyond measure after the episode.
And so it seems that the cast is good, and the effects are on the level, but it did not go at all.

Well, the booger monster and the fart-powered engine were clearly not in my doctor bingo for the first episode of the first season. I don't really like children either, and if in the last episode Lulubelle didn't take up much time on herself, then of course there is an overdose of larvae per square centimeter of the screen ...
Of the five episodes released after the return of Russell T. Davis to the post of showrunner ("Star Beast", "Wild Blue Distance", "Chuckle", "The Church on Ruby Road" and "Space Kids") this is the only one so far that is not five stars and, accordingly, automatically the worst. Which nevertheless doesn't make it bad, because there were enough good moments, the main characters are as damn charming as last time, and the only adult character on the ship is also cool.

I really liked the duet of the Doctor and Ruby. The actors are bright, charismatic. The chemistry between them is there, it's just a test.
But the series itself seemed wildly boring. Periodically I looked at how much there is still to the end. If it weren't for the playful Jokes with Millie, I would have quit in the middle. I don't know, even the first episode with Rose and the Ninth seemed quite cheerful. It also seems to be a chase, and an action game, and a mystery with Ruby...but it feels burdensome.

I understand everyone who has associations with the Eleventh and Rose. They were the youngest (from new school for sure). That is, the companions, of course, were all young, but in Rose this youth felt different, she believed. I don't know what words to describe it.

The series is a passing one for me, but a great job has been done to engage a new audience! I once started watching season 5 and I was pleased that I was smoothly brought up to date. We are waiting for a replenishment among the Hoovians who did not dare to watch 13 seasons.

Return the tile!

A monster made of snot, breathing oxygen (!), and a ship powered by shit - they just ask for cheap comedies of the 1990s. A strange world where the gene pool is condoned.
There is no chemistry between the actors. An inept actress with a small range of emotions was chosen for the role of a companion. The relaunch of the recreation center did not begin in vain with Rosa, an ordinary girl from the working quarter, and an atmosphere of mystery was created around Ruby.

Unfortunately, RTD repeats itself in this series. Ruby is outwardly copied from the Rose. The new companion, following the example of Rosa, will violate the Doctor's ban. RTD has always presented morality subtly, but now he has adopted Chibnell's feature of voicing morality head-on like Brezhnev's five-year plan.
I hope the first pancake is lumpy.

It will be interesting to find out who Ruby is (suddenly she is the daughter of the main villain or she is the main villain herself). Most likely, she has powers (snow hints at this).

It looks like they are trying to make a new impossible girl out of Ruby, with the secret of her birth and some kind of magic. Well, according to the way the actress plays, it seems that she gives out some kind of parody of a hybrid of Rose and Clara.

The plot seems to be from the Adventures of Sarah Jane that was not included in the 34, the snotty monster is more ridiculous than scary, the space kids scare me even more - they are very creepy when they talk.
There is a lot of strange chatter - they tell more than they show.
A doctor running around, twirling some sliders and shouting his guesses - this is canon, this is class. The rest is still confusing. The last episode about burping goblins, this snot-farting buffoonery - hmm... as if the first restart was a little more adult after all. Well, it's too explicit a pronouncement of morality. Yes, this has often happened in the Doctor, but since the first episode - something too much.

@wslm: For the sake of honor, Ruby said something about "thousands of years", but yes, it's strange that everything passed by so quickly

The moment with "No one grows up wrong. You are who you are, and it's amazing." was pretty therapeutic.

@MariaDemidova: on the other hand, absolute acceptance, when you have completely grown up, does not always work, and therapy is needed to correct some moments that interfere with life or poison the lives of others. But yes, you can't say that to kids, of course :D

These animated children looked so creepy that I waited the whole episode for them to turn into monsters and it would turn out that the victim was a boogeyman😂

I am very glad that RTD is back, and although this series is weaker than the Christmas one, I liked it
The scene with the phone on the background of a huge porthole is a visual self-citation
And the paradox of changing your own past, too (do you still remember the series about Rosa's father?)

but animated children seemed creepy at first, but by the middle of the series I was already used to it

Oh come on, it wasn't surprising to me with a snotty monster, because we had a monster of eye boogers in "Don't sleep anymore" But the ship with a farting thrust certainly impressed more
In general, I even liked the series more than the Church on Ruby Roads, there was no Christmas there, there was no slender plot, somehow everything was moving back and forth, at least everything is harmonious and clear here. Of course, the children are terrible, well, okay, I hope we won't see them again :D

I was wary of Joking in the role of the doctor, but it turned out that he was just coping with his role. But the tone of the narration made me wonder, am I really watching a new episode of the Doctor, and not some kind of show for middle-aged schoolchildren on Nickelodeon? Yes, a soft restart, but why is everything explained to the viewer as if he were an imbecile? In "Rose " the introduction looked quite organic: It was like we were getting to know the Doctor's world together with this simple girl from social housing on the outskirts of London. We were surprised with her, we were scared with her, we were worried with her. But here the Doctor just says everything in words through his mouth and it looks incredibly strange. And the companion then overplays, then underplays, then forgets what reaction she gave five minutes ago.

And anyway, it's a pretty strange episode for the start of the season. Sit-down babies with the sinister valley effect? A snot monster? A fart-powered ship? And, of course, that very special special companion (please, let her not be a lady in distress, I beg you), on whom the whole season will be tied. Self-references, self-repetitions, self-bowing. Attatat.

I really hope for RTD: I was waiting for his return, the series with 14m came out quite encouraging. But so far, what is happening is only puzzling. Hopefully, the first episode won't set the tone for the whole season.

@amaeru: It was as if the doctor was telling Ruby the terms of his partner's employment: here is the key to the office, here is the coffee machine, here is the office phone that works in all universes.

it seems to me that this episode with the children from the sinister valley could have been inserted somewhere in the middle of the season, but not at the very beginning

I love the series with all my heart, even the 13th has mastered it. But the beginning of the season is a kind of cringe. These computer kids are creepy. The hurries were cool at the same time

I absolutely can't stand children in any form, but there was apparently some obscure Disney witchcraft at work here

Dude, really? You literally became two two episodes ago in the truest sense)))))

Rough. Sukazest. Children with talking lips. A negro in newballs. Seriously? How stereotypical is it? The purpose of his life is freedom? Fuck. The goal of the doctors was to help any creatures in the universe. Black grandmothers as moms/grandmothers? I'm just fucking with this whole agenda. I can imagine Tennant's face when he saw it. This whole fucking thing. I thought Whittaker was the bottom. But no. There was a knock on the bottom of the tardis…
