I haven't seen a TV series / movie for a long time, which is based on the book as much as possible. And most of the dialogs are saved. At least for the first two episodes for sure
I put a plus sign for the fact that so far everything is going according to the canon (or I just read this story a long time ago that everything seems to be going well). well, you know, I already like that James is slowly starting to make some steps towards Ruby, and she somehow became more active when he appeared. and these views of Ruby in the memories that surfaced, I already knew everything that would happen next, and I'm kind of waiting for this moment, but on the other hand..... I can say for sure, I missed Maxton Hall!!!!And at the end, an incredibly beautiful song by syml played, which betrayed the awesome atmosphere between these two
The moment on the field, my heart almost jumped out of my chest. They were both beautiful, but James, with slightly damp strands falling over his eyes and amazing blue eyes, was just a sight to behold! And also how he drew Ruby😍😍😍 In general, I haven't been so excited about a teen drama for a long time!
@leeenalooo: rather, she quite succeeds in scenes where she is cheerful and relaxed, it is clear that the actress is by nature an easy and cheerful person, but where rigor and principle should be played - she stares and unnaturally wrinkles her eyebrows, it becomes very funny.
Well, what a chicken! To ruin such a dress! But the moment of falling in love is shown perfectly from both sides. It's good that the dress was ruined after all.
Damn, the dress was stupid. She knew that the iron was falling. I really feel sorry for Lydia, her family doesn't see her at all. Just as an attribute of the family and that's all
It turned out epic with the dress) Ruby's sister is a jack-of-all-trades 👍 I am very sorry for Lydia, who suffers from the stubbornness of her father and mother, who, seeing this, does nothing. Well, at least the teacher turned out to be smart and soberly decided to break off the relationship.
James is so handsome, his images are so charmingly chosen, and the color in the scene on the field is my love.
@Ann_McArt: I also really liked Amber, not just a good sister, but also a friend with whom there is something to talk about and to whom you can tell everything. Such a person will not betray and will always be a shoulder and support. About the fact that James Beaufort is handsome, I agree. But at least he's not the only one there. I would also add Alistair and Cyril to this list. But it's really a shame for Lydia😞
There are so many great shipping moments in this series. Their confrontation in the classroom; the moment on the field where Ruby had to take a step forward; how James drew her from memory (what a video sequence was played in this scene!); how he reflected on true greatness in the bow of two equal kings; how the driver noticed the guy's smile during correspondence. Such details. Gorgeous!
It is interesting to observe the relations within the Bufort family. How Lydia is suspended from business, how the father does not take her account, betting on his son, and at the same time the warmth in the relationship between Lydia and James. I hope to see more of their interactions.
The moments in the Bell house are very warm. Watching TV together, cooking, how Em calmly accepted that Ruby burned the dress she sewed so hard.
So far, I like everything, even naively, but for some reason it's addictive)
I've watched two episodes and I already like it. Yes, there are cliched moments, but everything is according to the canon. It's rare to find a movie/ TV series that looks as much like a book as possible. I was even surprised when the dialogues were like in a book. And the chemistry between the actors is what, I can't. And I really like listening to German. This is very unusual for me and pleasant))
I read the books this week and immediately look at them. So far, the relationship between James and his father is very different. In books he's a straight asshole asshole 😬
It's not a bad series, it comes to me, but even the actress in the main role is kind of wooden. I really like the minor characters and the main character
How cliched everything is. But there are no complaints about the series itself, since it was shot clearly according to the book, as they write in the comments. Only then does the meaning of the film adaptation get lost a little, because when they are filmed, it is implied that the director will make some sense of his own, look at everything in a new way, but repeating dialogues word for word, well, such an occupation. Unfortunately, this is all a problem of the book, of course, I have not read it, but I can assume that it is difficult to show any other view of it, and all the cliches stretch straight from there. It was beautifully shot, yes. Otherwise, the series does not bring us anything new, these stories have been chewed thousands of times.
Everything is fine, but Ruby is a freak ...... such a gray mouse that it is simply impossible to fall in love with, well, kamon, how can you want a half-dead fish like that? Nothing makes her look good at all, not a single emotion, not a single costume, nothing) Even Bella in Twilight in the first part was attractive You can take a minus sign, but this is my personal opinion, and I will not renounce it.
In addition to many of these points (apologies on the course, James's look after Ruby, smiles during correspondence), I liked how James understood why his father called him to golf when he saw Alistair's sister. He also froze with this stick, realizing what was happening and pulled it out so abruptly, as if deciding not to follow his father's lead
Don't throw slippers, but the actress who plays the main character sometimes makes such facial expressions that it's disgusting.. (moments when she is scared or when she shows disgust). The actors are overacting. The war was played out almost out of the blue..
I can't keep watching anymore because of the actress's overplaying and some kind of abrupt narration... and so I wanted to watch a light teen TV series🥹
Ruby talks a lot about morality and principles, about humiliation, but the girl forgot herself and began to humiliate others with her arrogance. She and James are on different sides of the barricade, they have different backgrounds, different conditions, but nevertheless, Ruby's behavior does not make her any better than the hated rich.
It was a shame with the dress, it was so stupid to leave the iron (
I feel sorry for Lydia, whom the family seems to throw into the back drawer of the table, with the thought "well, we'll sort it out later somehow".;
Of course, there are many questions for the teacher.
And most of the dialogs are saved.
At least for the first two episodes for sure
