It's a very, very good start. It would seem a familiar story. But it's important how it's served, and so far it's fine. I love Bardem, I've missed his roles so much.
I was afraid that Amy Adams would have nothing to do as a wife, but it's good that they made her an opposing lawyer, I wonder how modern technology will be used in this adaptation.
To begin with, I haven't watched the early adaptations and certainly haven't read the original. For me, this series is a new unknown story. And it's a pretty big story, where the producers are Scorsese and Spielberg, and one of the directors is Amanda Marsalis (Pitt, Umbrella Academy. This means that expectations are overestimated in advance. But at least the first episode keeps up with these expectations. The series, though introductory, is really scary, creepy, and leaves an unpleasant metallic taste in your mouth...
It's clear that he wants to take revenge on this family. But kill the innocent animals along with the cubs and throw them into the pool...Cruelty to innocent animals is unacceptable.
@Rafael_Vasilyan: people also kill foxes if they regularly kill chickens, chickens, geese, etc. Skunks and raccoons in the USA can also kill small birds and climb through garbage cans, because there it is more like a pest than a cute animal. The laws are different, of course, but there are services that capture skunks if they frighten some citizens.
He's such a nervous guy, especially Amy Adams, who conveys this feeling through the screen throughout the series. De Niro played more clearly from a psycho, and Bardem, as it seems, is an intelligent taco))
Anna talked so easily about erroneous sentences, about correcting mistakes, as if it were about 3-4 months. The man spent 17 years in prison, surrounded by criminals, without being a criminal. I've lived my whole life branded as the murderer of my pregnant wife.
@Rafael_Vasilyan: You saw that when his girlfriend shot herself twice and left a note that she killed her wife, she did it according to his instructions, talked to him on the phone.
I read the book and watched the 1991 movie, so the series is a completely different reinterpretation of the original, I would even say that only the idea remains... Even the Bowdens have a cat instead of a dog. 😳
I definitely like that the focus has shifted more to my wife! I want even more nerve and tension from Max!
Minus Zack's finger, of course, it's a creepy sight. 😨
The duration of the story is clearly not for 10 episodes, I really want the dynamics to be maintained all the time)
The husband took out a small bottle of drugs from his pocket. 🤔
@lady_kana: I like that a lot of things have changed! Because you don't need to repeat an existing good movie with De Niro at all - you'll always come across comparisons) And here it's like a new work! 👌
Unfortunately, the trailer turned out to be better than the first episode. I haven't read the books, I haven't watched the originals, but the understatement of the three, in my opinion, good actors, is too striking. The deft camera swings and oppressive music turned out to be plucked from another series.
@ruda4ok: I understand that Wilson is considered a good actor, but for six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams and the absolutely brilliant actor Bardem, such a characterization is offensive.
Oh, I saw a movie clip - in the frame she was giving him a microphone with one hand with a bracelet, and in the next frame with the other) it's a small thing, of course, but somehow you involuntarily think about the quality
Well, it's a great start. These camera spans, the music, the atmosphere - you just catch the vibe of the movie. The series is clearly shot in the style of such a rare classic thriller. Scorsese's influence must have had an effect. The atmosphere of incomprehensible fear, incomprehensible horror, and incomprehensible worries was well conveyed. From the very first scenes, it's clear that a lot has changed in the series compared to the book and the movies. But it's even more interesting this way. We've assembled a good cast. By the way, the son is played by Joe Anders, the son of Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes.
The first episode left a very good impression. It's a pity that I'm missing out on the exchange of impressions, as I'll be waiting for the rest in the RHS voiceover).
I do not know how to describe it, mb, you know. But for some reason, all the series in which there are big actors in the cast have some kind of strange atmosphere, as if everything is deliberately done perfectly, the lighting, the staging, and so on. Even Sharp objects, Big little lies, everything is licked clean... What's more... all coincidences are not accidental.
@enfant_terrible: Bliiin, you're so smart, you probably even looked at my browsed ones.
No, it's just a well-groomed picture. Because there's no such thing in other good TV shows. There is no artificiality in Sharp visors or Some of us Protecting Jacob, Out of many and so on.

Maybe they know something that the public didn't know?

The first episode turned out well: I liked the way Bardem plays, it's just creepy. I also liked that the Bowden family line was expanded.
Damn, for some reason I don't want that to be true))

well, I'm not judging by one episode, so far I'm interested
But Amy Adams and Javier Bardem are cool.
