Come on, an evil AI controlling everything? Well, let's not do that, please :There
is also such a feisty AI that can take control of an almost analog 2015 Toyota Sienna, in which there is not even adaptive cruise or lane keeping, in other words, systems capable of turning the steering wheel.…
But at least it became more logical why Bernard was saved in the story. And from the very moment they said about collecting artifacts, and even earlier, when they showed the Sims kid with the candy bowl, it was clear that everything was leading to her, but I thought I would have to drag Juliet to the kid. Or the kid to her. And everything was made simpler.

@shubkin: maybe, of course, they even removed the Toyota badge, because they didn't pay them, but first they show us nanobots (?) that gnaw planes on old gadgets * (or were they new, I was already confused in their speeches), and then Donny takes the most untraceable * (in his opinion) a wheelbarrow for cash according to an advertisement on a pole, which something suddenly begins to control. It seems to me that if they wanted to show normal control over the systems, they would have taken something like a Tesla, some kind of electric pipe, and at the same time they would have climbed into the ecovest column.…
Although, maybe I'm just thinking too much about them, and they just didn't even care :D

@Kentavr: obviously, there are some kind of nanobots here, and not just remote control of the machine.

Oh, let's go. It's funny, when Sims and Juliet get up and chat at the end, you can see the inscription 110 floor. After 30 seconds of continuous dialogue on the stairs, they climb a couple of steps and stand at 95)
Well, if this AI chooses optimal scenarios for survival, then it is very strange that he chose the judge and the head of IT in the same family. It's as if it's obvious that there will be a conflict of interests and such important people should be chosen as the most unrelated to each other.
I wonder who steals the lamps and fuck the lamps for 50 years ahead.

Congratulations to everyone on completing the amnesia line! Good episode!
It looks much better without constantly moving from the past to the future and back.
I wonder why someone would need light bulbs for 50 years ahead, but Orla's boyfriend/The old shadow is clearly involved.
Knox was released too quickly after what he had done.
All the groups have gathered! And Sims' company, and Kyle, and the Outsiders, and Juliette and the mechanics, only the sheriff is not enough for a full set, but he has his own line.

I'm happy with season 3 as a whole, with a more dynamic and interesting narrative, but everything is comprehended in comparison with seasons 2. I'm waiting for the next episodes, and it's only half the season!
PS: oh, there was an era, 20-25 episodes per season and almost no filler episodes!
Лаваш
Лаваш
02 Aug 01:10 #
@ArtchibalD: because the first two seasons are the first book, and now each book is for a season...

Yes, there was no such era, we were just less sophisticated in TV series, in every series with 23-24 episodes per season (standard TV season) there were at least 10 absolute fillers, because while the first episode was shown on TV, the seventh was filmed, and the fifteenth was just starting to be written at a crazy pace. Hence all the episodes-memoirs, episodes about minor characters (the main actor left to shoot his cooking show and was unavailable for two weeks), as well as a vertical plot, when the episodes are connected with each other by a couple of lines, and otherwise independent stories (so that if anything, they can be swapped with editing). I remember how Person of Interest got only 13 episodes in the last season (because Jonathan Nolan was already writing Westworld with one hand and wanted to get rid of the series as soon as possible) instead of 24, and it turned out to be the best season, because I didn't have to spread the plot for a whole year, giving out two plot suggestions per episode

And when she had already woken up and did not remember anything, it would be strange to give a back story: a new riot would begin. She doesn't remember anything – it's convenient to control her)

There was little modern line and it was just good! They fit well into the series finale.

The series is super! But one question: they have camera technology there, even hidden cameras, which they regularly repair. There are techies. For some reason, I don't believe Sims, although the character really has lines with meaning for the first time in the series, and I'm not going to pull it through your eye. The guy was just offended that his "gray mouse" turned out to be the chosen one, and their local Alice sent him. He's an asshole and a opportunist, he just keeps his nose in the wind, with his experience, he can break bones and the new government will keep him to itself, someone always needs to break bones, that's the nature of power. If Camille turns everyone over now, she'll defect to her. In general, the "amazing" trust between spouses in marriage is just not marriage, but the name day of the heart.

Wow, what a mess! It turns out that they're also running out of lamps... But how did they manage so many years before?
Stealing doesn't do any good, of course, but how could this be allowed in strategic reserves? And what's the point of stealing lamps or anything else, since there's nowhere to take it anyway?
It's really time for Juliette to remember everything they tried to erase with these idiotic pills. After all, it's already been half the season.
I'm glad Sims is on her side, but I'd like to hear the promised radio contact with Bunker 17.

After episode 5, a thought arose that, I think, explains the series better than the literal reading.

What if a Silo is not so much a place as a model of human consciousness?

Then many elements get a second, symbolic meaning.

* A silo is a closed model of reality in which a person lives. We do not perceive the world directly, but through memory, experience, and beliefs.
* Vault is a deep level of the psyche that is inaccessible to most people, but influences all decisions.
* Memory is not just memories, but the foundation of personality. By changing memory, you can change a person, so it is memory that becomes the central theme of the season.
Safeguard is an analogue of the protective mechanisms of the psyche. When new information threatens the integrity of the existing worldview, the system tries to suppress it.
Juliet is a quest for knowledge that cannot stop even when the truth is dangerous.
Bernard is a rational part of consciousness that preserves the stability of the system, because its destruction is perceived as a threat to its very existence.

If you look at it from this angle, the series begins to echo several philosophical traditions at once.

In Plato, people mistake shadows for reality. For Jung, the unconscious controls a person until it becomes conscious. In Buddhism, the familiar picture of the self is considered a construct, not an absolute reality. In modern cognitive science, there is a trend of predictive processing, according to which the brain continuously builds and refines an internal model of the world based on incoming data.

I'm not saying that's what the authors intended. But if you look at the series as a metaphor for consciousness, and not just as a story about survival, many plot elements suddenly begin to take shape into a single system.

It's interesting with the lamps: they pump it up as if everything, two years and the end, the lost lamps have evaporated. It's like they grew legs and went to China on their own.
But logically, they couldn't have pulled the lamp out through the top, it's impossible to store such a supply in a kennel. There are a couple of options left: either someone stored these lamps in the tunnels so that in a couple of years they would come out at the right moment and demand power in return for survival, or these very tunnels, which stretch to other bunkers, are now illuminated as well as Broadway) In any case, if desired, in two years the whole world can turn these tunnels upside down and find the missing. It wasn't into the furnace that their kidnappers dragged them, after all.
