These episodes with their glitches always spoil the series.
Well, it's terribly boring. I understand that it's hard to come up with something already, but doing a series like this is a hack.

The entire series is broken by the characters. The laws of common sense apply.
In general, the plot is quite predictable, but it was interesting to watch them.

Well... So-so. It's too mediocre for a horror movie, too stupid for Star Trek.

Even in Doctor Who there was no such horror, I don't understand why it's in a kind of SCIENCE fiction. If I wanted horror, I would have watched IT or Welcome to the Derby, but from Star trek new worlds I expect to see new worlds, not old ships with old ghosts.

@miha_xxx: literally every series in the franchise, including the original, had a couple of creep episodes in the style of popular horror films. So not for the first time, but rather traditionally. It's just a little out of color this time, so to speak).

@miha_xxx: In TOS, there were ghosts, magic, and much more without a scientific explanation. Three seven-season episodes can also boast of such plots, or with hints at the end of the episodes that the mysticism and devilry were true). So it's not new at all. Like with comedy series.

@kriptopsix: Star Trek wasn't originally solid science fiction, but a "Twilight Zone" in space. We gave the team a chance to drive the scenery of a medieval castle - we're shooting a series about vampires. And now let's shoot an episode in the scenery of Chicago. And now about the space Nazis. And now about the earthly Nazis...

As soon as the rest of the crew appeared on board, I immediately thought that it was all glitches. They started with a hint of something scary, but somehow ended up with nothing.

I was more intrigued by La'an's theme, the last scene and other moments probably hint that La'an will continue to face his dark side.

@demerteille: Well, in the third episode, they're already friends and hugging 🤪
well, they brought the creeps, damn it) in general, I was most interested in the mention of "division 12" in the whole series, which deals with just such inexplicable things as on Family Guy (Paramount and let's have a spinoff, lol). The way Laan said exactly how David would die was certainly beautiful (because that's exactly what happened). Actually, I really liked the way Kristina Chong played Laan's sliding attic here.

I quite liked everything. Since I don't watch horror movies, the horror stories in the series made me feel creepy. To a more sophisticated viewer, what was happening might well have seemed boring, I do not argue.
Jim got a good beating: his brother "died", then he almost died, then in the end they don't pick up the phone. I hope he and Laan will have a good conversation later.
Most likely, Laan will go crazy further along the plot, but I hope they will show us more than that or they will not stretch over a bunch of episodes. Unless she suddenly becomes the antagonist of the season.
In general, I hope it will be good, but it won't be bad.

I have a feeling that this series exists only and precisely as a promo/trailer/test for the Division 12 spinoff. The mention of which was repeated and artificial. Plus, this is literally only the second mention in the universe, and everything is exclusively inside the SNW.

02 Aug 00:20 #
@iasra: No. It seems to me that this is an experiment by the creators - to throw such an idea very head-on (well, it's really been too often and one-sidedly repeated what division 12 is), look at the reaction of the fandom and decide whether to develop an idea or not.
This is what they do all the time in marketing and product development, and it's possible that this "pre-evaluation" method is also used in TV shows.

@Da6kaz: Star Trek is currently on hiatus, and it's very likely that it won't be there at all, and all the existing references were made in an era when sequels were still hoped for.

Kurtzman's contract is running out. Paramount's management has changed. No extensions, just cancellations. The series that managed to be filmed by the "pack" are being broadcast.

@GreenSign: How could there be none, when just a month ago I read about the extension of the Dutton Ranch? And now there's a story about the "Clueless" in the news, although that's not really the point. But about Kurtzman, yes, there is no news and the rumors are not encouraging.

@Hidji: not a single Star Trek extension, not a single production launch.

If they also dismantle the scenery of the series (on which they wanted to shoot "The First Year" with Wesley), then everything is gone.

There is news that they want a relaunch with a new feature film.

Overall, I'm positively impressed with the series. I wasn't scared, but I could feel the tension.
I do not agree that this series is not at all in the style of the franchise. Not every event should be explained by science in a single episode. Just imagine how many scientists it takes to sort out all the phenomena that Star Trek starship crews have unearthed over several centuries. That ancient sphere is the archive from Discovery, the Dyson sphere from TNG, and so on. And there are plenty of creepy episodes in Doctor Who.
It's funny that Spock's main love is logic, not girls.🤭

I'm reading the comments, I can't figure it out, I watched another episode. It was a comedy series about a vacation. What the?? When investigating with the help of Gemini, it turned out that I had watched episode 3. At the same time, attention, I watched it in the voice acting of Amedia, on hd-cutting. That is, someone leaked the series earlier, they were announced in advance, and posted the wrong series) in short, I'm going to look for the 2nd series, I have a bonus today)

It's not a bad horror movie. And I even liked that they didn't invent any "quick" explanation. They kept the intrigue alive. If this is probing the ground before launching the spinoff, let them know, I'm all for it.

the best episode of the season so far (or even the last two). It's a pity they didn't explain it, but it's an excellent space horror according to all the laws of the genre.

On the one hand, it's inappropriate, or rather, the style of a horror movie. There are too many predictable things. Literally from the beginning. On the other hand, the series is interesting in small details. They can play a role in the future.
I think the series is primarily about Laan.

By the way, a funny fact. When they enter the elevator, they do not grab the handles, but simply give a voice command. Not like in CBT. In the anniversary episode of GC9, a couple of good jokes were built on this design feature. Just a remark.

In the third episode, Laan is quite normal. They even posted it on Kinopoisk by mistake, and I already watched it on Thursday. And now it's been replaced with a second one. The question is, where did they get it😂

@vk1130758: they have a license. Pirate studios announce this on the day of the series' release and post it with a delay of up to several days (usually a matter of quality: the better, the later). And the official distributors are provided with the entire season in advance for dubbing, so that they can upload simultaneously with the world premiere.

@vk1130758: some have not broken off their cooperation, some are slowly returning. Paramount, too. Oh, the same Netflix, for example, no longer works with the Russian Federation, but for many of its products it makes official Russian voiceover in Israel, at the Videofilm studio. It seems that now only Disney is steadfastly holding on to the "Not a step back! " position.😁
