s04e04 — Greyhounds' Day Off

Trent Krimm and Dr. Sharon, it was nice to see and hear. Trent's voice is really made for podcasts.

There's a kind of vague vibe from this Zelda, a feeling that she's wittingly or unwittingly threatening to set Kili and Rebecca at odds.

We've advanced the Roy/Kili line, sort of. Higgins' desperation at being dragged into their relationship was hilarious, but overall a strange move with these ten dates. And now it looks like Roy is going to start dating the doctor.

The main plot of the series seemed a bit rushed. In one episode, we were shown both the occurrence of the click problem and its resolution. But anyway, Ted's interaction with the team is always interesting.

I love what a genius coach Byrd is! I'm still very curious about what happened with Jane in the end.
But this Zelda is annoying, some kind of unkind vibes from her, but let's see what happens next.

The plot with ten dates is strange, in general, the whole branch of Kili and Roy now feels somehow unnatural to me. It's as if the authors regretted that they divorced Roy and Keely and are now thinking about how to get everything back, but it's not really working out anymore.

Zelda is suspicious, I don't trust her.

I don't like Killie Chet at all, to be honest. It seems to create more problems than it does anything useful.

Rebecca is also with her cockroaches, but she always knows where good/evil is, there is depth in her, but it's like there's no such thing in Killie. For the most part, Rebecca agrees with her only as a friend rather than as a professional in her field.

But the whole part with the team is just very conservative and naive) They slightly overreacted in the caricature of the situation.

It's a great episode, except for the scene in the reception hall, where a woman was going to have an event for which people paid money, and in the end they were fucked. In reality, everyone would leave and ask for a refund and not call again.

Teambuilding by beating up sexists/chauvinists or whoever they are is just a cheap/lazy scenario move. Who is the main enemy of women's football? Right! Guys! Let's kick them in the head. It's sad that the plot and the characters' rapprochement are presented so clumsily.

Roy and 10 dates. What, why, why? If they wanted to break up their pair, why didn't they set Roy up with teacher Phoebe? At least there was flirting and some kind of connection.

There was a whiff of the old vibe from the 2nd and 3rd series. This series has put out the entire vibe. Hopefully they'll fix it in the next one.

Keely has some terrible wigs and hair inserts this season. They're right in the eye, it wasn't like that in previous seasons.

Roy's doing great, why not arrange all 10 dates in one day? It was very Roy-like, and it was even strange to expect something new. I don't know if Keely and Roy are endgames or not, but the doctor is a beauty, why not?

Wow, great episode, the season is accelerating. I've missed this series in my life.
I find myself thinking that the Rebecca-Killie line is the most uninteresting, the character of Rebecca, through whom the topic of meta-reflections on Feminism and "what did you do for hip-hop at your age" began to be a bit of a parody of herself. Well, Killie has no character development (however, like all the others, they seemed to freeze for three years waiting for the Lasso to arrive).

Lasso shouted at the team for the first time in my memory, and it's interesting to see this side of him.
I really like the trio of Lasso Beard and Alice. Alice is a super cool character, I want to see more of her and interact more with Ted. You can see how much Alice wants to be a part of the team and play on the field.

Zelda might surprise us, but usually Rebecca's instincts don't let us down. This can cool down the degree of "wanna be a feminist" a little, that feminism does not consist in thinking by default that every woman is good and right.

And teambuilding through prison is clearly a reference to the movie "stand-ins" with Keanu Reeves. I really don't think Lasso anticipated this in advance.)

Trent plus the Psychologist is a great fan service, without distracting from the episode. It's a good idea with a podcast, as if a voiceover is speaking and then it's shown to us.

The series has lost its depth, everything is too one-sided. Even if you remember Jamie at the beginning, it was clear that he had his own cockroaches in his head, but here it's good and we're all good, everything is fine. WHERE IS THE DEPTH OF THE PLOT HELLO

Honestly, Killie was starting to get annoying. In the early seasons, she was more integral as a character. In addition, in contrast to the Swarm, it looked brighter and helped to reveal the gloomy, clamped and closed side of the Swarm. But in the process, it was as if they forgot to start developing her character. And she just turned out to be always squeaking, exalted, infantile, and not really fitting into the professional format.

That is, last season we watched her build some kind of business, but she approaches it completely irresponsibly and as if it were a game. Now she is a marketing director, but, again, she does not understand what problems and difficulties there may be. At the same time, she saw how difficult the men's team was developing and how many problems there were. And obviously, there will be even more of them in the women's team.

Of course, she doesn't have to wear formal suits and talk only about numbers, but I would like to add more depth to her image. After all, she's not a new character, and it's impossible to say that we're just getting to know each other. Therefore, she should have already had her own normal arch, development, her own characteristics, her own depth and, in general, some kind of greater organicity to the image than just a person walking in pink and gushing with positive ideas.

Plus, her relationship with Rebecca seems to be developing in a mother-daughter format. Rebecca protects her, indulges her. This is not only not the format of a working relationship, but it is not even the format of a genuinely friendly relationship. That is, to act as if this is an inspired child who dreams of something, so I won't tell him the bad news. Such is Killie's assessment as a specialist.

I also don't quite understand what the storyline with Roy is leading to right now. It seems like they are trying to bring them together and leave them with such a final decision, but at the same time the chemistry between them is becoming less and less, because the characters are not clear how they develop. So now I can't really imagine how naturally they will lead to such an ending, if it is really conceived.

I liked the podcast the most in the series (both as a link and as Trent's interaction with the psychologist).

It's sad to say, but this episode, even though it brought the team together, seemed logical, but the aftertaste is bitter.
All this new character input is probably preparing for several seasons. When will we have time to reveal everything? And how much time will be left for the old characters? Where is the interaction that used to be? If you want to create new bundles, who forces you to destroy the old ones?

And most importantly, why spoil Kili like that? She has the vibe of a lost child who doesn't know what he wants, so he rushes to do the first thing that comes to mind. She has always been the light of this series, yes, sweet and a little naive, impulsive, but at the same time reasonable and empathetic. She guided people, supported them, helped them become the best version of themselves, and now they show us a selfish girl who has lost her main features.

The doctor is cool, yes, but, Camon, why does Roy need her and why does she need him? If you wanted to separate him from Kili completely, why was there chemistry in the first episodes? In general, it's like they've been in a cryocamber for 3 years, and now they've suddenly defrosted.…I doubt that people with such temperaments would just put their lives on hold.

Well, yes... I'm only getting rave reviews here, so what I'm going to do now is like turning over a hive of bees without a protective suit.

The series was well completed, but the creators wanted to cut down bvbla against the background of previous successes. But.. the fourth season turned out to be boring, unfunny and superfluous. Even the brawl in the bar is so-so. You can watch it, but only in the background. I'm sure that a significant part of the audience shares my opinion, but they don't want to spit into the wind.

Well, I hope Zelda turns out to be a normal woman after all and won't stick a stick in the wheel.

As it is, yes.. I'm more inclined to think that the season is superfluous, although I'm glad to see Ted, Beard and Rebecca.

An absolutely passing episode, apart from Roy and Keely's deal (which brings at least something interesting), the screaming coach surprised me, but the reason is ridiculous, well, at least the scene in the pub is funny with a Beard - one, otherwise there are some fantasies about how men in the pub humiliate girls all evening and pour beer is unfunny, stupid, and implausible.

Some kind of locker room drama is far-fetched. They're all so strong and independent there, they want to be like men. They shouldn't care if someone sees them naked. Moreover, they don't even try to hide behind it.
Ted made a debilitating move. This season is so femoral that even the quiz can't be shown properly. This is not a competition in knowledge, but a competition between female monkeys and male macaques. Even Lizzie was mistreated.

Well, what can I say. I am glad that the series has not lost its charm after all. Unfortunately, the good things end there. Burning up with a story in modern TV shows is even a little silly - it's like crying and stabbing, but still continuing to eat a cactus. In the first seasons, it was also enough, but for some reason it wasn't so annoying, now it's really too much.
I've never seen women's football, but I watched women's hockey at the Olympics. And 2 months before that, I watched the men's World Youth Championship. I'm afraid to imagine what the boys from the conditional Latvian national team would do with the Olympic winners from the USA. Still, this arrogant attitude towards women's football among some of the characters in the series is not necessarily sexist. Let's see if it's going to be interesting, but I don't believe in the future of this series.

I'm still trying to figure out my attitude to how the team was made. Sometimes it feels like I'm part of the "Boys" show. Either I'm stereotypical and expect such a normalized female figure in the form of quieter heroines, or the scriptwriters overdid it and made them very unique.
Well, or something else that I haven't figured out yet. Let's see how it goes from here.
Anyway, I really appreciate the themes this season.

By episode 4, I somehow lost my enthusiasm.. the feeling of a "lazy" scenario, all the moves are so obvious..
And Rebecca's character only walks and sighs beautifully this season.
