I love Gwaine Hightower! And Ulf gets more and more annoying from episode to episode. I don't know why Silverwing chose him as her rider in the first place.

@AdamStark: Ulf is light on his feet, loves fun and life, in principle... Or maybe she just misses people and flying, because no one has ridden her since Alisanna's death. Aegon is not a gift either, but his dragon is the most beautiful and wonderful.

P.S. and how Silverwing and Vermitor greeted each other, I
'm surprised they're still together, although I don't know if the dragons choose a couple forever.
@AdamStark: Gwaine is the most beautiful thing in the series.

I'm really sorry about Helaine. Rainier was a little tense in this episode with her cruelty. Sending a mother to kill her son... she couldn't do that on her own.
A couple of episodes before his death, Kohl was made somehow less annoying, which even at the moment when he took out a handkerchief from Alicent, he even felt sorry for him, considering that Alicent herself does not even remember him))
But I'm glad he's finally been killed.

It feels like there's some kind of chemistry between Gwaine and Daeron.… At least Gwaine is Daeron's favorite uncle.…

There is no one hundred percent evil in this war in the face of the greens or blacks.
The first episode was full of incidents. Then the dynamics decreased and has been gaining momentum for two series in a row, preparing us for the spectacle.
Episodes 7 and 8 should be eventful.

27 Jul 08:33 #
@AdamStark: and I suspect I know what her canonical death will look like in the series [if you haven't read the books, don't read on].

Yesterday I watched an interesting theory about the moon (in the last episode, Helaine really wanted to see it), that this is how dreamers and sorcerers communicate with each other and can visit each other in their dreams. Helaine had already appeared to Damon in the second season, and Eamond found her on the balcony at night before leaving for Harrenhal. She might want to contact someone again, because she's the only one who cares about her brothers and children, but she'll stumble.

Well, finally we said goodbye to Sir Christian Kohl. Such a prosaic death for one of the main players in this whole war. Killed by an arrow, and even by someone who had barely appeared on the screen until that moment.
Who cares, this is Lady Alisanne Blackwood, or Black Ali. According to the book, a really beautiful archer.

In general, the royal Hands are not lucky in this series. If he was killed at the beginning, Corliss was attacked at the end; it is unlikely that he was also killed, rather abducted, but nevertheless. Daeron doesn't have a Hand yet, but Ormund Hightower is clearly aiming for this place, and he's not up to par here either. His sensitivity to smells played a cruel trick on him when the Baratheons came :)
abaisse

27 Jul 07:54 #
@Nog: Corlis is indestructible, he is the main character: he does not get sick, he does not drown in water and he does not burn in fire; every time someone kills him, for some reason it is not completely. Considering the history of his voyages and adventures, he definitely became immune to all kinds of dangers. :)

@Nog: If he aspired to a knightly death, he got it. Everything is as it should be: he hit a dozen enemies in the field, with a handkerchief of his beloved lady and three arrows in his chest 👌

Only a mistake came out: few people feel sorry for him. And they're unlikely to write a ballad about him.😅

Each new episode is getting better. Someone may not like that there are no colorful battles and bloodshed (even I sometimes, given the budget for one episode), but this is a matter of taste, the plot is not always based solely on battles, the House of the Dragon is generally about two opposing parties and, God, these people finally get screen time.
When I remember the stuffy second season, filmed in three rooms and with two and a half actors, it gets really bad.

I didn't understand why Vermitor and Silverwing were so different in size, since they hatched at the same time and were left without riders less than five years apart, they had no other riders. Can someone suggest it in the comments?
@abaisse: I would assume that the designers decided to introduce sexual dimorphism)
In normal words, girls don't grow up as fast as boys.

The option is, of course, interesting, adds realism, as for me, but there was definitely no such thing in the books. It was impossible to tell even the gender of the dragons there, because they "change gender" there or do not have it at all. But by the way, we do not cancel out the biological features, the Vermitor as a whole was considered large and large, maybe this is taken into account.
(But we're talking about fantasy))
Icаrus
Icаrus
27 Jul 11:19 #
@abaisse: you can just say that Vermitor is bigger because he was more at large than Silverwing, because Alisanna died before Jaeherys. Silverwing flew less after Alisanna's death, stayed in caves, maybe spent some time in a Dragon's Nest, and Vermitor grew up. But rather, it's just that the breeds are different.

In general, the series turned out to be much more interesting in the part about the greens. There's only one small moment when Thailand Lannister tries to answer Aegon's question about whether that person is terrible, worth a lot. But then the whole line at Tumbleton is very good.
And the blacks have the same thing as before. Rainier is drowning her own board, Daemon is rushing around, Manderly is sneering at the council table. Okay, Alin had put a little bit of intelligence into Corliss, pointed out that it was no longer for him to be mad at Rainier. But it's too late.
Then there was this sudden kiss between Alina and Beyela, who, in my opinion, had never interacted with each other on the screen before. Yes, they're kind of like a book canon, but was it really hard to bring it to this canon in a more natural way?
Comment has been deleted
@Nog: Bayla and Allen's moment also seemed as far-fetched as possible, especially when her interaction with her younger brother Adam was shown in the last episode, and how he intends to protect her faithfully. I already thought they'd make a couple of them. And then, for nothing, the first scene of Allen and Bayla and the first kiss at the same time. It's very strange.

It probably didn't work out here, partly because of the character, partly because of the actor's performance, who didn't pull it off.

I never cease to be surprised by Lady Jane Arryn's changes.
Now she has also become very stupid.
She knows that Reyna controls a wild dragon.
Which could burn her down along with the lock.
And he slaps her in the face.
It's brilliant.

The problem is that her character has been replaced and we have a royal who behaves like a small-minded beggar who has never been further than her village and has never held a book in her hands...

The frame for this episode is well chosen. Because the Alice and Eamond line is the most intriguing arch. This clutch of eggs, which the witch pulled out as the last ace out of her sleeve to convince him to stay in Harrenhal, turned out to be a weighty argument, because it creates another bloodline claiming to be a ZHT, already the third only among the greens, and the fourth among the active ones. So events are now starting to resemble the war of the Five kings, which was at the heart of the best seasons of the IP. I like this kind of thing when there are a lot of actors. So there is more intrigue, no one is immune from death and everyone has a chance to win.

I don't even understand. Tumbleton is some kind of passageway.
Firstly, how did they find out where the Right Hand was, and secondly, it was too big a squad to set up an ambush, as they left the city.

Not for Senka, the hat is about Rainier, and as for the board, she gave up on it altogether. She is only interested in legitimizing her power.
I think the drunk horseman will defect to the Hightowns this season. And his dragon and Ulfa's dragon are a couple, if there is a battle between them. Can a dragon betray its rider?..

I see a couple of reasons why this happened.:
1) Faceless people are well-trained and able to do a lot, but they are people. They can make mistakes, they can get tired, they can be dumb. Yager Khgar got caught, and Arya almost got stabbed.
2) The campaign to cut out the police has been going on for quite some time and has been very successful. The performers could simply relax.

Those who watched the episode and did not fall asleep deserve a separate achievement. Why is it so boring? So far, Darcy's snot is the pinnacle of her acting this season. The pretence trap at the beginning is kindergarten. Kohl and his colleagues saw dead people every day, but here they couldn't see the setup at close range — it was bullshit. Maggots seemed to have just been poured out of a jar onto a cow. Gwaine rips open the dude's belly, and from there some kind of compote pours out - even if they put sausages, like the intestines fell out. Why does everything look so cheap? Where did you spend all the money — on dragons?

If he died ingloriously, as he should, it's funny how people like him start setting the conditions for battle, even while trapped.
Of course, Misaria knew everything, why wouldn't she know everything that was going on in the city and in the castle.
Borros does not learn anything and continues to neglect his duties to the crown.
Ormund might have been more attentive if he hadn't spent all his strength trying to withstand the stench of the guests.
Hugh covers up his ambitions by taking care of his family, forgetting to ask what they need at all.
But Gwaine, as always, is the only joy, living with dignity and caring for his family.
Rainyra finally became more determined.

At the beginning of the season, he wrote that he had already come to terms with the stupid actions of the characters, but in this episode the scriptwriters were able to surprise anyway - to send Alicent to Harrenhal... It's just that it's idiotic, why do screenwriters mock the characters so much, they've broken the bottom once again.

Or here's Baila and Alin - there's just no chemistry in the series, Jace died recently, then she talked to Addam, and now suddenly she's kissing Alin. It would have been better to remove this scene, and add more with Alisanna before that, otherwise it turns out that some kind of nouname with arrows killed Kriston (they also removed a good phrase from the book about songs)

Excuse me
@karinabuzia: Norton had to act out this scene 30 times. It's possible that at some point he was really vomiting.🤣
At first it seems that the series has kind of flown by and no one really moved, but Kolya's death is so unexpected and awkward, so he stands and pushes the speech and everything is an arrow in the head, goodbye!

It's a pity for Helaine to marry her brother for the sake of political games at the behest of her grandfather 😢
I felt so sad when she asked Alicent why I was here, hadn't any noble lord asked for my hand in marriage😢

A conversation between Gwaine and Daeron, about how the latter is now Ormund's little treasure, and he is happy to put him on the throne, because he cannot sit down himself.

Damon was abandoned by the entire city guard, Rainira and her board are limping on both legs, and there are only 2 episodes ahead.

It's kind of weird. Ormund is shown to be such a cunning strategist, he has a lot of people everywhere, everyone is so loyal and exemplary, and you stop believing in it. Even the conditional Tywin Lannister won the war only through treaties.
That's what a network of spies you need to have in order to exterminate the city guards and Velarion's people along with him so quickly.

The character has been completely changed compared to the first season, when she threw herself at Rainier with a knife. Now, for some reason, her relationship with Rainira is soaring exclusively, is she her enemy)) I really, really feel sorry for Helaine in this family of fools.

Vermitor and Silverwing are like cats!

It always touches me that the golden cloaks can simply resign and this is not considered some kind of betrayal of the crown. He wanted to leave, he wanted to come, just think of the elite troops.

Ormund was made into a caricature villain, but the actor is good.

Well, our rogue prince also looks so funny in this armor of golden cloaks.

When Kohl turned over two people who were holding on to each other, it seemed to me that one of them was breathing. And I was thinking – is it a mistake of filming or is he still alive? If you 're as straight as a rampant machine , you can see that he 'll win the whole army alone .
Great, it's an unworthy death for a traitor, but who was it? Judging by the reactions, was Stark aware, but Tully wasn't?
Yes, Damon is too impulsive, even though there is truth in his words for their world and morals. 🙃
Let's say the Vulture King really became such an important problem right now - did Borros really take the entire army with him?
Poor Ulf – there's no one to brag about
Naive Alicent , however , it seems that she has already had at least a little effect on Misaria…
Damon should thank you for not leaving secretly, but for respectfully announcing your resignation. They could have ambushed him and sold him.… I wonder if the others also wanted to resign, or did his usual rude response to the old man influence their decision?
Yes, Alin is right: as some have accurately noted, dad does not recognize, does not come to kindergarten concerts, but he plays the offended one... 🙃
Two cripples, one of them is the king, of course Lannister will get the dirty work. Lannister is afraid to sincerely admit, and Laris expressed everything to his face – is that why Essos?
She's like Thanos, she's got what she wants. "At what price?" "At the cost of everything" 😆
Poor Dayron, even his beloved uncle can't save him now... ☹
And who asked Alicent to donate? You raised the children yourself so that you came ready to give up Aemond, and for the sake of saving Helaine, you agreed to Aegon.… Even Helaine had turned her back on her.…
Poor Rhaenyra – she has no army, no city guards, no money, just the throne itself, and Damon decided to fish for bait? I found a businessman, but did he run a business from his own house or someone else's? To search for objects, to ask about his house, to torture him for answers... are they motivated by the pure unwillingness of a female ruler? "
Poor Ulf is lucky," Could we bring a couple of trusted friends to the castle under supervision?
Did the Vulture King happen to be in Tumbleton (irony)? Wasn't that the Baratheon deer on the soldiers?
Oh, how! Were the Baratheons following Rhaenyra's orders? My uncle did well to understand quickly, it's strange that Ormund didn't decide to check them out – I thought he would point to Gwaine for verification… But weren't the Baratheons too quick to get their weapons? Or were they mercenaries?
So my wife left home by herself, chose a long way during the war, instead of getting out of the city to find a settlement closer… And she left without waiting for the news about her husband, although she could understand it.…
I bet Rainira will never let Helaine go, since she knows about her dreams... And interestingly, Rainira is also gradually turning from an idealist with good intentions into a calculating one.…
Oh, Corliss is too obsessed with thoughts and did not notice the enemy. At least Simon was attentive (although he pretended to be a live bait, he was not stupid)... And even though both sides had formally lost a commander , Kohl was no longer a force .…
But if you don't want to burn down the city, is there any other way? After all, the 2 weeks that will pass until the Tallies reach there – they will scrape together all the reserves of the region, make fortifications, will be able to withstand a siege for months ... Maybe they will burn not the city, but the surrounding counties that provide food? Burn the field and let the fire reach the city, so that there is no other choice but to leave? Are there any ships capable of navigating shallow rivers? It seems that the Greyjoys were like that…
Do Addam and Aline become heirs, or does it pass to the granddaughters from the daughter, the children of Damon? Or is there another male relative who will make demands?
Let's see how things will be in the next two weeks.…

P.S. I wonder what plan the witch came up with...

Finally, Kohl died, after the scenes of his tedious hike from the last episode, I wanted to sleep. And how I love the scenes between Alicent and Rainira, well, just the most magnificent actresses, they play out every note of tension, grief and sorrow, bravo, I would watch their dialogues for hours!

The latest series from Kohl's efficiency is zero for absolutely everyone. It's neither cold nor hot from the existence of this character. I should have killed him at the peak of everyone's excitement, but at least I didn't have to wait for the whole episode, which was very gratifying. Did he wrap Alicent's handkerchief around the hilt of his sword, without even fixing it, so that he would lose this sword from his hands during the battle?

Alicent is also a clueless chunya. Kill my sons, but I have nothing to do with it. I am not me, and the hut is not mine. Well, since you've already decided to run away with your daughter, then finish the job, mumble. Deal with Eamond and give Helaine and her children a chance to live in peace. It's not sunny, you can't keep everyone warm. She also apparently forgot who the prisoners were. He's shaking some rights, demanding something, challenging it. Be grateful that you're not sitting behind bars in a damp dungeon.

Rhaenyra can only sympathize for now. She's trying to put things in order and get things right, but as luck would have it, everything is going against her.

Misaria was disappointed, although her act should have been expected. But what's the point of it? If Rhaenyra loses the war and the Greens take the throne, who will need her there? Aegon is "dead," Aymond is gone, and soon he will be declared dead, too. They want to put Daeron on the throne, in any case, Alicent won't decide anything anymore, and Ormund doesn't need Misaria for nothing.

Didn't Bayla flirt with Addam in the last episode? Or is it no longer important to her?

I didn't think that they would do Kohl's death like in the book. But he really deserved that kind of death. Without honor.

Christian Kohl is a legend
Stark and Tully shit their pants at the thought of having to fight a real man. Even the two of them were afraid of one another, and they could only kill surreptitiously with a crowd or a woman's hands.
Although on the other hand, this is Ned Stark's ancestor. He doesn't mind being hit in the back, and it's in his favor. He took the glory for killing Arthur Dayne for himself, as if he had won honestly)) Family traditions are respected

@aleshamihalich: No, Ned Stark beat Dane fairly. He fought according to the rules. If Arthur Dayne and his friend went for six, that's their problem.
And Bran, a half—wit, began to talk about his father's honor and valor, although he himself had never held a sword in his hands and had never fought. And he also listened to the Three-Eyed Raven, who, before becoming a tree, was one of the meanest schemers in the history of Westeros.

And shooting from the bushes at a man who offered a fair fight is generally off the charts.

@frst_gmp: He didn't beat Dane. Not even close. Without a stab in the back, it's 100% death for Stark.
Ned is a hypocrite

@aleshamihalich: Don't exaggerate. Ned had just dropped his sword and could have picked up any other one, or at least run away. And it was Ned who finished off Arthur. And whether to be proud of it or not is his personal right. It's okay to kill in the back in battle. And to kill someone in the back who trusts you and whom you have to protect is despicable.

From the very first minutes, they brought a joke - an ambush that pretended to be dead for how many days) The archers in this series rule (they always show up on time and remain incognito), only Damon is a cheater, and finally they won't waste time on Kohl's line anymore... "My king, I wrote it on my own. - It's a shame, we're a family... The scenes of Alice with Eamond, Alain and Reyna are something between when you don't know how to build a romantic line and dialogues from adult films... Damon is the only capable golden cloak) Trolling Hightower is smearing himself with shit before an audience, because why not wash up before a visit) For some reason, a murderer with Alicent has a better chance of success than without her, Eamond, apparently, will run out of the shadows as soon as he sees her) The final twist is as usual - you can cut everyone at night, because no one knows about patrolling, and Corliss is a sucker who, as usual, no one guards, but now we all know how everyone will die in the finale, they will be cut off on a walk in the woods by some people)

@Gevorg: Yes, everyone sleeps there at night, so whoever doesn't sleep rules. That's the motto of Game of Thrones) It's very interesting to watch how behind the scenes, without a fight, without a plan, without a trick, just like that, the character is merged, and you come up with explanations yourself. You're doing well. Everyone lived in peacetime, so during the war they were mercilessly stupid, then relaxed, then diarrhea... It's convenient, really, why try at least somehow
I have a question.
That's the kind of sheep-stealer Damon killed.
Why not show Raina as a new rider now and say, "Rainira, it's arrived in your ranks! Reyna rode a wild dragon!!"?
That's how it was with Eamond - the rider died, he jumped on the dragon and easy.
Wouldn't such a lie be convincing?

How stupidly Kohl died at the beginning of the episode spoiled my mood until the very end, even though I was never a fan of him. Maybe it was done on purpose: like he wanted to die pretentiously in close combat with a sword, as befits a real knight and, let's not forget, the STRONGEST WARRIOR in the KINGDOM, but he was killed like an idiot with arrows from afar. But I didn't enjoy it, it pissed me off. Like his role in this season turned out to be meaningless.…

Then Alan and Baila's kiss happened completely out of the blue. I know that she actually married him in the original source. But in the series, they didn't make any prerequisites for this couple at all, so I looked at it with a stony face. Baila and Adam had more reason for a romantic line, at least based on what was shown in the series.

Ormund is an arrogant idiot who almost got Dayron killed. Thanks to Gwaine - he's generally the most adequate and positive character this season for me personally. I wouldn't be surprised if Ormund's weakness for odors is the reason for his death. The scene when he threw up is the most disgusting 🙈

And here's what I liked: So this is Rainira's plan to send Alisanthe to kill Edmond instead of a bunch of mercenaries. Yes, it's cruel, but as far as I'm concerned, it's still the smartest and most cunning move, although I've seen others say that she's stepped in again.

In general, I already want to end this whole war, and it seemed to me that season 3 was the last, but it turned out that there would still be a 4th. Most of the narrative, both in the past and this season, is dragging on very slowly, and yet there is something missing from this series compared to "Game of Thrones."

@tevladka: we know what: a person who would prescribe the plot and dialogues)
The vomit scene was very necessary. Someone watched "Knight of the Seven Kingdoms"😏 But of course, this is another humiliation for both men and, in principle, the Greens - after all, Ormund is just saying that Rainira will not burn people because she is a woman and has a weak stomach.

I think this episode is for Gwaine. He's gorgeous, he's bold, brave, smart, and just plain handsome.

Well, how sorry I am for this little guy, let him and Tessarion go far away from this pi*dec🥺

I'm surprised these lords weren't killed earlier. Demian pretends to be a guard, this sea lord generally walks openly. The corpses are being dragged by a man with his sailors! No, it's cool, of course, closer to the proletariat, but it seems like the end is natural. I feel sorry for the guy, he even became positive in his own way. If some kind of dead insider and now dead outsider. He behaved stupidly, but this is not a claim to the plot, everything is natural, just a statement of fact. To go partisan with a couple of dozen people without caution is a sentence. They were in such a hurry to see the parking lot that they didn't even examine the bodies properly. But there should be a lot of blood from so many corpses, and there's not a drop. They missed such a simple ambush. Although maybe the guys are already so exhausted that they are already missing the obvious things. I continue to marvel at the Queen's shortsightedness and impulsiveness. External enemies are understandable, but we must prioritize them according to their importance. On the one hand, there are a few Hightower forces that are hiding behind civilians. They won't move anywhere while the dragons are patrolling. On the other side is Vhagar. Yes, it's a big dragon, but damn it, he's the only one! There's no hope without an army. On the other side is the Royal Harbor, which is full of problems and diversions. Rainyra has allies. I return to my thesis. Promise them a few pennies for a piece of gold. Promise lucrative positions and exclusive contracts for supplies to the yard and to the city. Surely there are some mines and industries that can be promised for pinning down enemies and gold. But he stubbornly doesn't do anything. The secret Police is not organized, and neither is the network of informers. Instead, there are isolated harsh reprisals that do not add points to Rainier against the background of the crisis situation in the city. She walks around the castle from side to side and often chats with her friend Alicent. He offers her a plan to go find and kill his son. Well, kick-ass! Again, they found the loot somewhere to pay all the mercenaries of the kingdom to look for the horseman of the Vhagan, but they did not find the money to inform the rebels.

@Doctor_13: and most importantly, there is an example before the viewer's eyes of Varys with his kids and whores who collect information. It is clear that everything will not work ideally at the beginning, but no agent work at all? The guards as a whole remained the same. Didn't they have any contacts at all? Do they have any semblance of a detective here? There should have been something left. Yes, it's trivial to go into a tavern and give the local bartender a couple of coins and he will surely be happy to tell you something interesting. I don't know) maybe I'm very pragmatic about everything) and Rainira is such a typical rich girl who just got everything and who thought that everything was done by herself. This is the only way to explain it logically. But there's also a crowd of hands, the same Corliss has a lot of experience managing a large city, has his own people and connections. And even he didn't suggest anything. Damn, it was all in thrones) the search for armies, money, and support. At least in general strokes. In general, Rainira is a fool.😃

Sending Alicent after her son is somehow completely stupid. In general, Rhaenyra doesn't get along with the board, it's okay if she can't rule and make decisions herself, but she doesn't really have anyone useful on the board, Otto was more useful with her father. What was the point of returning to the throne on dragons if she had conflicts with the nobility, the guards, the church, the people, her own allies, etc.

Does it seem to me, or has Rainyra changed her character too much in this episode? Sometimes she was so worried about ordinary people and problems in the city, they showed her as such an unhappy, insecure, but clearly a positive heroine, and then suddenly she was all bitchy, collapsed on the throne, she didn't care about other people's problems. As if there were no prerequisites for such changes.
