For him, everything looks unambiguous: they love each other, they haven't forgotten each other – they can just be together. But Yichen already knows the value of such love. He was lucky that at least his brother stayed by his side.

At the same time, the increasing tension of Lu Feng himself is so palpable to me, as if I am trying to grab onto the person as tightly as possible to make sure that he is not a mirage. He's afraid that everything will disappear again, and he's trying to hold on to reality too tightly. After four years of obscurity, a painful fear of loss has become entrenched in him.

He now looks like a man who is sure that he is not able to survive the loss of Yichen a second time. And in a desperate attempt to protect himself from the feeling of loss, his desire to possess Yichen may go far beyond the norm.
As if at some point he would really want to isolate Yichen from everyone, so that no one else could influence him, convince him to leave or separate them again.

Once, "doing good" had already destroyed their bond. And now Lu Feng seems to be on the verge of a state where he wants to define the boundaries of their relationship himself. Even if you have to go to extreme lengths to do this, just to never let the past happen again.
And in this matter, Lu Feng can decide everything alone again.

But I like that it didn't result in more suffering. All three of them understood that the situation was a dead end, and therefore they were able to let it go without unnecessary pain and regrets in order to move on.

@innsight: according to the book, in my opinion, there was too much in his obsession, the author was bitten by someone towards the end of the book, in general, after reading, I did not understand why they decided to film it, it cannot be shown in its pure form, and there is little left of the original in the revised version.
