I'll put it away anyway, just in case!!|| At some point, I began to suspect that in fact the story with Gao and Fan is the real story, I just did not fully understand the moment with the book. Because I had already decided that Zhang and Zhong were fictional, but the last couple of lines sent my decision to hell. Cough cough, the situation you were talking about is this it? I couldn't find this comment anywhere.
And I probably didn't understand about this little Xiao, if I'm not mistaken. @jaesu_1866: if you look at the app from your phone, then part of the comment is hidden under the spoiler stripes and you can't see what is written. Maybe there's just some kind of technical error on the site with this.
@vera24: It's still not hiding, I'm not sure what the problem is. I hope I won't spoil anyone's impressions.
,here's about the novel
About cough cough: no, I was so impressed with their phone sex in chapter 55, more than chapter 43, I even thought maybe something like this would be included in the series, but it doesn't matter, it turned out to be such a finale that I don't need anything else!😆
The ending in the novel is good, I love that! The author specifically confuses us when, closer to the finale, Zhang Zhong and Zhen Xing find out their relationship, they also say that "Are we really even incomparable with two fictional characters", "This is fiction, fantasy, script". And then this at the end: Fan Chi and Gao Zhong read the novel "Getting used to the role."🤨
She also added herself to the plot: "Go and tell your friend that she wrote a lie about you," I screamed at that moment😄 My friend confused everyone around me In the end, both stories are "real" anyway, and I was really happy when they all had dinner together as a quartet!! But damn, without a girlfriend, what the...?!That's where I think a friend would be appropriate, unlike the interventions we enthusiastically defended them from.
Gao Zhong took it out a little bit at the end, he has fun teasing and mocking Fang Chi, but damn, these are just cute pranks compared to what Fang Chi did!!😁
Yes, Xiao Fei is clearly not indifferent to Zhang Zhong: "You are fantastic, the movie is fantastic"🙄🙄Yes, we understand...😁
In general, I want to say that the novel, like almost all the other Chinese that I read, I really liked how they can write! I only read realism, and almost always it's an interesting plot, prescribed characters, psychology, a bunch of cultural / historical / linguistic, etc. phenomena / expressions you meet, then you sit, you figure it out, you feel like a Chinese student. Holy people who are engaged in translation, my respect is boundless! Translator's notes are a separate genre! Now I know what a mermaid line is.
I watched almost all the films mentioned in the novel, and made a playlist. I really like to read and collect this kind of stuff in addition to the work itself. For example, when Fan Chi and Gao Zhong went on a trip to Wuxi, I was like, oh, so Avenged Love was filmed in this city! We know, we know.
People, I'm sorry!!! It doesn't clean up under the spoiler (((( 🤚It's about the novel!!!!🤚

It's a different level of emotion. It's not for nothing that the title "getting used to the role" - as a reader, I am very deeply immersed. I don't know about anyone who has read it, but I like Gao and Fan Chi's line a little more. There are such fierce emotions there, it's really like I've been turning into them myself.
@vera24: Reading a novel is an additional happiness❤️this is the day today, I can't calm down, I'm overwhelmed with emotions and it's really hot.I'm trying to meditate with the Winter sun, but everything there will soon bring me to a heart attack. So everything is beautiful.
@jaesu_1866: I can't get to 10-11 in any way((everyone is somehow agitated by the latest events (someone is in the know) . So I'm going to watch the adventures of rags for now.
Overall, I liked the series. But throughout the series, I struggled with the maternal instinct. Namely, immediately run to the kitchen and start cooking borscht, cutlets, mashed potatoes, maybe pancakes and something else to feed this cute pencil couple. And what are the right words at the end: May you always have the courage to do what you love. After all, we are able to live our lives the way we want to. Amen, comrades! That's what we'll do!🥰
Give them all the prizes in the world, please (although this is not the main thing at all), I'm in lovePencils have drawn such a picture, I will look at it for a long time.🫶I feel happy💜❤️🔥
At first, I was hooked on the concept itself, and then the story gradually unfolded so much that by the finale, Deep In became one of the best dramas I watched this year.
The concept of a "movie within a movie" is one of my favorites. I always enjoy watching stories that show behind the scenes of filming, the work of the actors, and how cinema is born. And here the filming process does not turn into a beautiful setting for a romantic line, but is a full-fledged part of the story.
I was generally impressed by how integral this work feels. Very rarely do I get the feeling that almost every element does not exist by itself, but becomes part of one big story. That's why I always wanted to go back to individual scenes and review them with a new understanding.
I got a special pleasure from how thoughtfully the film language is built here. Every element of the frame turns out to be significant for the story, and the production, and the editing, and the music, and the way the actors live their scenes. The musical accompaniment continues an emotional conversation that the characters are not yet able to conduct in words. If you listen to the lyrics of the songs, it becomes noticeable that they sometimes continue the thoughts of the characters and help to better understand their inner state.
Working with explicit scenes looks just as meaningful. I am skeptical about the excessive number of threads in the plot, and often I get bored quickly when the project uses them only as a way to keep attention. There has never been such a feeling here. Each of them changed the relationship between the characters, influenced the development of the story and was therefore perceived absolutely naturally.
It was directing that combined all this into one whole. Liang Xun managed to build a story in which every element finds itself in its place and becomes part of the overall plan - he is a talent.
I would also like to mention the acting separately. Carrying two different characters on your shoulders is not an easy task, and all four main characters turned out to be convincing, and the transitions between the roles they play in the film and their real emotions feel so natural that sometimes the boundary between them almost disappears. Thanks to this, the story does not lose its emotional authenticity even in the most difficult moments. I can't believe these are the debut roles for the guys.
And I'll never get tired of repeating it.: China is my god, and his return, which I no longer hoped for, divided my life into before and after
At first, it seemed to me that I had a pretty clear story in front of me.: actors get roles that gradually begin to influence their lives. Gradually, it became clear that everything was much more complicated than it seemed at the beginning. It was equally interesting for me to watch the scenes that the characters play in front of the camera, and the plot of the film they are shooting, and what happens immediately after the command "cut".
Both storylines feel equally important. The story of Zhen Xin and Zhang Zhong turned out to be softer and more romantic, while the relationship between Fan Chi and Gao Zhong is harder, more painful and psychologically more difficult. They are completely different in mood, but it is together that they add up to one story. Instead of competing with each other, they reveal the same idea from different angles.
The name Deep In applies equally accurately to both lines, because in each of them the characters gradually lose their usual landmarks, sink deeper into their own feelings and at some point begin to sacrifice their principles.
The finale did not come as a surprise to me. I wrote earlier that I have a feeling that the story of Gao Zhong and Fang Chi is the leading one, and the line of actors only helps to reveal it.
I was prompted to this idea not only by the feeling of the depth of the characters Gao Zhong and Fan Chi themselves, but also by the use of fictional names of cities in the line of Zhang Zhong and Zhen Xin. I want to believe that this was a small hint from the creators.
It was difficult for me to imagine exactly how the creators would beat this idea. I rather expected the story to go to another level of storytelling and lead to another movie again. But this design seemed too confusing. But the idea that the story of Gao Zhong and Fang Chi reached the viewer through a book based on their lives turned out to be much more organic and integral.
And I'm pleased that I managed to capture the main feeling: the plot played with the viewer's perception from the very beginning.
P.S. don't forget to watch the credits to the end - additional scenes are an important part of the story. Each of them adds another small detail, which makes the overall picture more voluminous.
Throughout the drama, the creators use different aspect ratios to make it clear where the actors' story is and where the film they are shooting begins.
The final kiss scene
When Zhen Xin approaches Zhang Zhong, the image format changes and switches to the aspect ratio that has always been used for scenes from the film.
But already in the first scene after the credits, this episode repeats itself again, and this time the image returns to the format of reality.
It turns out that the same kiss exists in two planes at once.: first as part of a story that the viewer is invited to perceive as fictional, and then as an event that occurred in the reality of the Deep In world.
In the second scene after the credits, Fan Chi reads a book and discusses with Gao Zhong the story of Zhang Zhong and Zhen Xin, while the frame again corresponds to the format of reality.
Although the story of the actors exists inside the book, the series does not make Zhang Zhong and Zhen Xin "less real" in relation to Fan Chi and Gao Zhong.
On the contrary, it blurs the line between the levels of storytelling and shows that both stories simultaneously exist inside the Deep In world.
How difficult it is to put letters into words ... in short, all four characters exist at the same time 🤪
Not only is this a great scene in itself, but the very song that was playing in the background is also playing when Joosung was waiting for Songho in His Man 2.😭😭😭
I was so dazed at that moment that I still haven't dazed.
At this point, the division into "real" and "fictional" stories ends. Both post-credits scenes make it clear that both the actors' love story and the difficult path of doctor and patient exist in the same reality within the drama.
@HaiLouYin: Yes, I liked these moments with different aspect ratios here too. It's great that the author makes it clear to us that all 4 characters exist at the same time.
@Oxxy_Moon: Yes, I really like this visual technique, but when I saw that the kissing scene here is in a double copy, I got a little hung up. 😅
Then I sat for another half hour and was blown away by how cool it looked.…
As a result, the main essence of the story was revealed, but one small detail was still hidden between the lines - a purely if you know, you know moment.
@jaesu_1866: Yes, I needed an oxygen tank... and this is the last kiss of Zhen Xin and Zhang Zhong before parting. They both understood that this was the end... and put all their feelings into it.🥺🥺
The name gives the image of a person who is used to keeping himself at a certain level and meeting high standards. And this resonates well with Gao Zhong himself: expensive suits, accessories, constant self-control, the desire to look perfect. It's as if he lives by an internal standard that was once formed under the influence of his mother and eventually became a part of himself.
I also liked the fact that 准 also means "exactly", "true". At the same time, Gao Zhun himself doubts himself, his own desires, and whether he has the right to weakness and his opinion in general. It turns out to be a beautiful and slightly bitter irony: a man whose name is associated with precision and inner support, has lost this support in many ways.
After experiencing violence, this is especially felt. It seems like the only way for him to survive is to keep control of himself. He hides the pain as deeply as he can, clings to the familiar image of a strong man and does everything to keep himself from crumbling.
方 — - Fan Chi
~ 方 (Fāng) — side, direction; also a common surname ~ 炽 (Chì) — flaming, incandescent, burning with a bright flame
The hieroglyph 炽 is very strong. This is not a cozy, warm fireplace, but a bright, almost uncontrollable flame.
At first glance, Fang Chi seems like a calm and collected psychotherapist, but the further the story progresses, the more it becomes noticeable how much is going on inside him: professional ethics, guilt, affection and love for Gao Zhong constantly pulling him in different directions
His feelings remain under control for a long time, but at some point it is impossible to restrain them. And then they burst out with the force that the hieroglyph itself seemed to foreshadow in advance. I think the name conveys his inner state very well.
Because of this, Fan Chi himself is perceived as a person who simply does not know how to back down at the sight of someone else's pain. He doesn't wait for Gao Zhun to open up on his own, doesn't back down when he runs into another wall, and generally doesn't know how to act half-heartedly. Sometimes it turns into pressure, sometimes into outbursts of irritation, sometimes it hurts Gao Zhong himself. But behind all this, there is not a desire to break him, but a desperate attempt to reach out to a person who has plunged himself into emotional isolation.
And if you look at the names together, it seems as if they hint in advance what this story will be like. A story about tension, pain, internal resistance, and a very difficult movement towards each other.
Gao Zhun is increasingly self-contained, turning control into a way to survive. Fang Chi repeatedly invades this isolation, as if he simply cannot leave it alone. His actions don't feel like an attempt to comfort. Rather, as a way to make you feel again. Fan Chi's presence resembles a strong flame: It can warm you up, but at this strength it almost inevitably leaves burns.
One is trying so desperately to keep himself in line that he is gradually losing his inner support. The other one comes into his life like a flame— too bright to be overlooked, and too strong so that no one remains the same after this meeting.
With Zhang Zhong and Zhen Xin, it was most interesting for me to observe how the dynamics between them are revealed through the meanings of hieroglyphs.
张 — - Zhang Zhun
~ 张 (ZhāNg) — to open, stretch, straighten, expand ~ 准 (ZhǔN) — accurate, true, standard, standard
What particularly catches my attention here is that Zhang Zhong's name again has exactly the same hieroglyph as Gao Zhong's. Not just consonant, as is often the case: the actor and his character literally share the same hieroglyph in the name.
Zhang Zhun also strives to control everything, constantly evaluates himself, doubts the correctness of his own actions. It's just that it's no longer expressed through trauma, but through a profession, a sense of responsibility to family, and a relationship with Zhen Xin.
I also involuntarily read the same names as another thread that connects Gao Zhong and Zhang Zhong to each other. It seems to me that this is a very convenient detail to feel how Zhang Zhong's role and personal feelings are closely connected.
The actor gradually becomes like the character, and the character is reflected in the actor. Even at the level of names, the author constantly reminds us that the boundary between the two is already half erased.
Zhang Zhun is the first to get into the role head on. He confuses his feelings, increasingly unable to separate himself from the character, and gradually ceases to understand where the film ends and he begins.
In this sense, it sounds like irony again: a person whose name is associated with precision and standard is the first to lose his inner foothold.
甄心 — Zhen Xin
~ 甄 (Zhēn) — to select, purify, recognize the true, distinguish the genuine from the false ~ 心 (Xīn) — heart, soul, inner world, feelings
Zhen Xin reads the difference between fiction and the present very quickly. And his name seems to be perfectly put together for this. It turns out the image of a man who feels the present in his heart and understands very well where the role is and where the living person is.
It is Zhen Xin who so often brings Zhang Zhongyu back to this boundary: the film is a film, and the feelings are real. It is important for him not to confuse who is playing whom, who feels what for whom, and not to confuse what is happening in the frame with what is really happening between them. And there is something very touching about this: while Zhang Zhun is getting deeper into the role, Zhen Xin is becoming the one who first realizes what is happening and calls a spade a spade.
Where one person increasingly confuses himself with the role, the other helps him return to himself. In that sense, I really like to think that their line is a comeback.
A return to the boundary between the film and life, between the image and the person, between what is played and what you really feel in your heart. And perhaps that's why these names sound so good next to each other: one blurs this boundary all the time, the other constantly calls for clarity. •••
Well, if you look at both pairs as a whole:
Fang Chi (方炽) × Gao Zhun (高准)
Flame (炽) meets a man who has been shackling himself with rules all his life (准)
Zhen Xin (甄心) × Zhang Zhun (张))
A sincere heart gradually melts a person with the same "standard" who is used to keeping his distance.
That is, both love lines are built around a similar idea: one character brings vivid feelings, the other brings control and self—restraint. But the author expresses it in different ways and in different circumstances.
Separately— this is no longer my interpretation, but just a beautiful pun.
甄心 (Zhēn Xīn) is pronounced almost the same way as 真心 (zhēnxīn) — "sincere heart", "sincere feelings", "speaking from the heart"... that is, the name Zhen Xin literally sounds like "sincere heart"
And it really suits his character. Yes, Zhen Xin can be arrogant, intrusive, and violates other people's boundaries. But he almost never hides his feelings. He speaks directly, acts directly, loves directly. Even when he's playing, he's expressing his real feelings.
It turns out another beautiful irony: an actor who constantly pretends to be called "sincere feelings" •••
The pun can be heard in the scene when Qin utters the phrase: "time has shown what desire is and what true love is"
The word 真心 (zhenxin) was translated as "true love"
For the Chinese viewer, it is simultaneously perceived as an ordinary word meaning "sincerity" or "sincere feelings", and is consonant with the name of Zhen Xin.
It turns out that the replica is read in two planes at once.: ~ time will tell what sincere feelings are. ~ time will tell who Zhen Xin really is
If you keep this wordplay in mind, then on the one hand, Qin gives Zhang Zhong wise advice about love, and on the other, her remark reflects the dynamics and the main conflict of the actors' story.
She suggests giving time to put everything in its place so that it becomes clear whether the meeting with Zhen Xin was just a fleeting attraction or whether his actions were really motivated by "zhen xin" — a sincere feeling coming from the very heart.
So the English translation loses one layer of meaning, because Zhang Zhong's conversation with Qin raises two questions at the same time: does Zhang Zhun really love Zhen Xin and was Zhen Xin himself sincere in his feelings
After the translation, this duality practically disappears.
@HaiLouYin: Thank you, Chichen! ❤️It was so cool to dive into these linguistic details. It's not just information, but like a little cultural puzzle. Each piece is intriguing and I want to find out more and more!
overall, I liked it, I didn't expect such passions from little Ollie, I will follow his career with curiosity. it was shot though not richly, but with a soul, in the finale they even gave humor in addition to the universal happy ending. Long live love!
I approve of the presence of plottwists who have not been seen since the first episode. It's really nice, it just increased my impression of the series.
For me, the end was a little bit crumpled, there would still be episodes 2-4 with how they "struggle" this time after filming before the premiere, and it would even be possible to include a couple of times how they would cross paths somewhere, looking for each other in these places and trying to somehow adjust, but in general, against the background of the whole picture - Everything is fine
It's been a long time since the series has turned me out, there are a lot of gorgeous tracks in my piggy bank - for which I thank you very much!
I can't stop being surprised that this is literally the work of "newbies" - it amazes me unbearably, as if a whole new reality has been shown to me! An incredible project, it seems that it will be reviewed more than once and it is very painful to part with this "world"This is probably the first time I would like to participate in the premiere and thank you for such a "story". You know how rarely good reviews are written, but sometimes you are so delighted and amazed by the impact that you don't just want to take it for granted or say thank you mentally/out loud, but you literally want to shout about it, so that more people can hear it. you might have heard about another person's work and perhaps emphasized something for yourself!
I just wanted to write a "wonderful project," but there are so many words in my head and it's like I can't put it into words.. It's really incredible!! I bow to all the creators for their wonderful mind and skillful hands, and I cry
It's a mess! The novel was very delicately transferred. The post-credits scene may be confusing for those who haven't read it, because in the novel both stories were real.
@budurr: The director is just a fire! I watched his comments on the scenes, including this one, and became even more imbued with his talent! In general, everything came together here in some amazing way: the novel is amazing, the masterpiece was shot, and the director is a talented darling. This combo happens to me once in a century.
@jaesu_1866: Yeah, creme brulee is simple! Ollie is an easy discovery for me. I hope the guys will be allowed to continue filming. We'll keep an eye on the director now, too.

Then I sat for another half hour and was blown away by how cool it looked.…
As a result, the main essence of the story was revealed, but one small detail was still hidden between the lines - a purely if you know, you know moment.
As always, I do not pretend that every name necessarily hides the only correct interpretation. That's just my loose interpretation.
高 — - Gao Zhun
~ 高 (gāo) — high, sublime, superior ~ 准 (zhǔn) — standard, criterion, accuracy, conformity
~ 方 (Fāng) — side, direction; also a common surname
~ 炽 (Chì) — flaming, incandescent, burning with a bright flame
It turns out another beautiful irony: an actor who constantly pretends to be called "sincere feelings"
•••
The pun can be heard in the scene when Qin utters the phrase: "time has shown what desire is and what true love is"
The word 真心 (zhenxin) was translated as "true love"
For the Chinese viewer, it is simultaneously perceived as an ordinary word meaning "sincerity" or "sincere feelings", and is consonant with the name of Zhen Xin.
It turns out that the replica is read in two planes at once.:
~ time will tell what sincere feelings are.
Thank you, Chichenushka
For your talent and efforts. Thanks to which we can immerse ourselves even more in this world.
Thank you for selflessly reading this flight of fancy.
For the ages,
For me, the end was a little bit crumpled, there would still be episodes 2-4 with how they "struggle" this time after filming before the premiere, and it would even be possible to include a couple of times how they would cross paths somewhere, looking for each other in these places and trying to somehow adjust, but in general, against the background of the whole picture - Everything is fine
Ollie is an easy discovery for me.
I hope the guys will be allowed to continue filming.
We'll keep an eye on the director now, too.
