A retired firefighter once told me why he was always happy to have a woman on his team. Why his guys often couldn't do what his girls did - not to leave the dying man pinched by something until the last, always stay focused and not give in to panic despite the fact that everything is very bad. And the girls in the fire departments do the same thing as the men - climb ladders, carry heavy hoses, enter burning buildings. This year, our firefighter ran a marathon in full uniform (32 kg of protective clothing and boots, as well as an oxygen tank) along with other firefighters.
Herman is just a composite portrait of those firefighters who have not yet got rid of stereotypes. But, fortunately, there are fewer and fewer of them. Firefighters now are not a bunch of louts who do nothing but tell dirty jokes (no, they do that too) and believe that women have no place among them.
That's why Dawson will make a great firefighter.

I wonder if Casey is ever satisfied with anything? From the very first episode of the first season, he walks with a lean face and is eternally dissatisfied with everything.

I think Casey didn't like the decision just because he would go crazy if she was constantly in the same danger as him. He's worried about her, that's all. And she certainly doesn't think she'll make a bad firefighter.

How hard is the series, or rather its ending.

Gaby should probably stay in the ambulance. No, I don't think girls don't belong in firefighters or that she'll make a bad firefighter, but as a medic she's gorgeous. Makes quick and correct, sometimes not the simplest, decisions.
Matt probably doesn't mind her idea of how much he'll just worry about her.
Matt, hold on, we believe in you!

I am extremely glad that it turned out to win back the station legally. Everything was done correctly, although sometimes emotionally.

What is especially pleasing in this series is that in any hospital situation (an accident or the birth of a child in a partner's family), the main cast sits and waits together for news in the waiting room. A second family, friendly and strong.

The only thing I didn't understand was that after the guys freed Casey from under the beam, he went to the exit with the child, falling on the threshold with the last of his strength. What were the guys doing in the background? Was the beam adjusted to burn better?
