Yeah, that's what happens when you live up to 20 years old in a small happy world, and then it turns out that in the real world there are not only good people, and you need to work on yourself and fight them.
But to what extent was Rory unprepared for life, if it knocked her out of her rut so much.

@vk596680: I understood that Rory decided it herself, then her grandfather supported her, and only then Emily's grandmother. Well, the fact that they didn't talk to Lorelai is a yes. Although Lorelai is so stubborn that she also sometimes needs to see that not everything goes according to her wishes, so that she does not turn into a copy of her mother.

THIS IS A SERIES :About
Mrs. Kim is truly forgiven for everything :D What you will not do for the sake of your daughter's happiness, it is unclear only where such changes come from.
As for me, Rory really, after ~ 18 years of living in a small town where everyone knows and loves her, just wasn't adapted to the brand new world, and was ready for someone to be set against her, so to speak. Nevertheless, I do not understand such strong feelings of Lorelei, Rory did not drop out of Yale, but just took a sabbatical, after which she will most likely rethink everything and return.
The last scene is 10\10, too cute :3

I actually liked Logan, but somehow he's a bad influence on Rory. First the yacht, now I've decided to drop out of school. It wasn't Logan's fault, of course, but he obviously wouldn't have talked her out of it... We urgently need a new smart guy without the amorphousness of Dean, Jess's paddocks and Logan's pump.
Bring back cute smart nyasha Rory from the first seasons!
The end is gorgeous. We waited!

And I like Logan because he gives Rory freedom of choice, which she lacks so much, she's just confused right now, Logan doesn't say what she should do, but just stands next to her. My opinion is that this is a very healthy relationship

The finale made me not look up from watching for a second!I was surprised by Luke, who immediately decided to cancel the purchase of the house like a coward!When Lorelai came to her parents, she felt a sense of pride from their friendly team, but in the end, when Emily and Richard supported Rory's stupid decision, she felt disappointed!

The most adult thing Rory has ever done. Those who think it's "childish" to take off and run away from problems like that, I'm sorry, I disagree with you. During this year, which Rory will spend out of Yale, I think she will change her attitude to many things. The girl has finally grown up.
As for Logan, I think he's a great fit for Rory. It was with him that she began to open up, stopped being clamped down and forever fixated on proper behavior. Keep it up, boy! Get the hell out of her!)
Mrs. Kim certainly gave pleasure both in the last episode and throughout the season. She finally realized that she needed to change her attitude towards her daughter and her interests. And this is good news.
And, of course, Lorelei and Luke. God, may this most amazing couple of the series be all right!!! They both deserve to be 100 percent happy!!! Luke will buy a house, they will get married and have a couple more little Gilmore girls))) it will be fine)))

I totally agree. I think Emira and Richard did the right thing. This is a reasonable decision, she will have time to think, figure out what she wants from her life. It's not always like this in life, so I decided in childhood that it would happen. Everything changes from opinions to interests. This year will be good for her, I think. And Lorelai is used to having her angelic child under her wing, but it's time for Rory to grow up, he can't be so perfect all his life. I understand Lorelei, but you can understand Rory, too. It's very difficult when everything is pressing on you and I've been touched since Rory Richard. I'm glad they understood and supported her, and Larelai will get used to the fact that she didn't leave Yale for life.

Rory is running away from problems, as expected. Это всё совершенно нормально. То, что это не шарага в Ростове, а Йель ничего не меняет. Рори не знала другой мечты и внезапно столкнулась с трудностями, именно это ей и нужно: остановиться и подумать. Если продолжать ходить на лекции с сомнением станет только хуже. Обидно, конечно, что все будто бы против Лорелеи, но ей тоже стоит вспомнить, что у Рори должна быть своя жизнь и свои поступки/ошибки/решения.

Yes!!! Just because Lorelai did not let Rory make important decisions, and almost chose everything for her (I have nothing against her, but still), Rory is not adapted to adult life and when something happens that requires reflection or decision-making, she immediately runs away and creates drama

странно видеть непонимание Лорелеи, от кого угодно можно было такое ожидать, но не от нее. она сама наделала делов в юности, сбежала, не общалась с родителями. потому,что сделала как сама захотела и так "выступает" на Рори. она же не бросила учиться, а просто взяла отпуск, чтобы разобраться в себе. что тут такого??? удивила меня Лорелей

@Tyunechka: yes, it is unclear why this is so. Perhaps her maternal something outweighed her, or maybe she relaxed, deciding that everything was determined and stable for her daughter, and she could finally get on with her life, and suddenly it turned out that her daughter was at a crossroads again. It's high time for Lorelei to arrange her life and do it :)

Как же обидно за Лорелею. И дело даже не в том, что Рори бросила учебу, это все можно было обсудить и возможно Лорелея поняла бы преимущества такого решения или Рори решила по-другому, но сам факт того, что все сделалось за ее спиной. Да, Рори с Лорелей поссорились, но как же это неприятно, что после этой ссоры Рори (второй раз уже кстати) просто побежала туда, где можно расплакаться и ей все дадут, вместо того, чтобы самой что-то решить или хотя бы расставить все точки над и с мамой.
Этот момент, где Лорелея стоит на улице и видит через окно как Рори раскладывает вещи, а Рори видит ее и просто отворачивается, это очень очень больно. Ну почему нельзя было хотя бы сказать ей, что переезжаешь?
В конечном итоге Лорелея гораздо гораздо лучшая мать, чем Эмили, поэтому сравнение с ситуацией Лорелеи, как она убежала из дома совсем неуместно.

Даже не знаю, как относиться к поступку Рори... чувствуется, что она не готова к взрослой жизни еще, раз какие-то слова одного человека настолько ее выбили из колеи, что она решила бросить универ. Удобно, конечно, когда ты прибежишь к дедушке плакаться и он тебе во всем поможет, и приютит и за учебу заплатит. Одних людей критика мотивирует на достижение цели, и типа доказать обидчику, что ты на многое способен, а ее это полностью деморализовало, что она вообще теперь не знает, чего хочет. Как будто ей совсем не досталось упорства Лорелеи.
Почему-то вспомнила Марти, который не мог заплатить 75 баксов за ужин, вынужден подрабатывать, интересно, как он платит за Йель. А Рори просто чет психанула и решила уйти, то есть она два года занимала в универе чье-то место? Украла чью-то возможность на хорошее образование, чтоб потом просто выбросить ее на ветер. Философия Логана, что типа адвокаты моего отца все уладят, не парься, на Рори как-то странно влияет.
И еще, я что-то не поняла, как там, что Лорелея и Эмили помирились после того ужасного ужина с ЛОганом?

В Йеле и других университетах лиги плюща есть стипендии, покрывающие все обучение, так что Марти скорее всего так и учится там. Я не думаю, что она занимала чьё-то место, потому что все же в первые годы обучения она прям горела этим делом, но сейчас правда обидно, что она так не по взрослому поступает и бежит от проблем вместо того, чтобы решить их:(

по идее универ это школа жизни, где сталкиваешься со взрослыми проблемами, но как бы в миниатюре. типа демо-версия. Ситуации, которые надо преодолеть по идее должны закалить человека. А у Рори все наоборот. Мне вообще кажется, что ей не надо было поддаваться на уговоры дедушки и бабушки, и ехать в Гарвард, как она изначально планировала.
Хотя Йель близко к дому, всего полчаса на машине, может быть она из-за Джесса выбрала его... потому что Гарвард-то в Бостоне, оттуда на машине за 30 минут уже не доедешь.

God, how annoying Lorelai is with her hysteria, selfishness and desire to manipulate everyone. she herself does not let Rory learn to live, choose the wrong guys, rethink herself, Rory realized that she wanted to be a journalist all her life, but perhaps this is not what suits her and she needs to think about how to move on. It is surprising that Lorelai is positioned as a wise person and at the same time her desire to tell Rory what scenario and with whom she should live

Да никто ни в чем не виноват. Разве что только то, что Рори трусиха. Но не всем же быть такими сильными! И да, давать отпор она почему-то не научилась, хотя ее мама, Лорелея, как раз самый яркий пример сильной и упрямой женщины. Но сомневаться - нормально. Не быть уверенным в следующем шаге, в будущем - нормально. Не знать, где твое место - нормально. И Рори не бросает попытки, и академ - не приговор. Хотя Лрелее пока так не кажется, но это пройдет. Я уже старая тетка, и до сих пор не знаю, кем я хочу стать, кода вырасту. У многих людей такое случается.
И да, Рори не готова к большому миру, потому что Старсхоллоу уж очень маленький пузырь, а она росла в нем.
Но ей некуда спешить. И все придет. Когда нужно.

Наверное, она и правда сама уже не хотела быть журналисткой, иначе смысл сдаваться из-за слов какого-то мужика. Ну да, неплохой газетчик, но почему ей не захотелось, наоборот, доказать ему обратное?

Отец Логана даже не читал её статей. Конечно, целеустремлённость важна в профессии журналиста, но всё-таки хороший слог, по-моему, важнее, а про Рори говорили чуть раньше, что её часто публикуют. Я понимаю, если бы ей не удалось получить место в Йельской газете, или у неё не получались бы хорошие статьи из раза в раза - это достаточно уважительные причины, чтобы засомневаться в выборе профессии. Но тут какой-то мужик посмотрел, как она «недостаточно инициативно» работает стажёром и сформировал мнение о её будущем как журналиста?? Какая-то шляпа. И она вообще-то проявила инициативу, спросив Логана о привычках отца, например, с тем же кофе без кофеина. А самое ужасное, что Рори его послушала.
Вот я вспоминаю Энди в “Дьявол носит Prada”. Та же по сути Рори через пару лет: закончила универ с отличием, была редактором университетской газеты, но без опыта никуда не берут, пришлось устраиваться в Подиум и работать ассистентом Миранды Пристли. Была ли эта работа тем, чем ей хотелось заниматься? Нет. Тяжело ли ей было? Конечно. Это не было самым прямым путем к ее цели, но ей пришлось его пройти, хотя ее и оскорбляли, и пахала она как конь. А тут одно мнение одного человека, и все, Рори сдаётся

А Рори ну вот ни капельки не пробивная. Я так понимаю, именно это и имел ввиду отец Логана. Всё-таки журналистика не самая простая вещь. Даже актуальность темы на которую ты пишешь иногда надо доказать. Или же доказать, что именно ты лучше справишься с этой темой, чем кто-то другой.
А Рори отличная приспособленка. Ну правда. Она отлично подстраивается под людей и все её считают умничкой и доброй душой. Её оставили как помощницу и она отлично с этим справилась, даже не спросив, может ли она что-то в рамках своей профессии попробовать сделать. Она спросила у Логана о привычках отца? Так даже тут она больше как помощница (секретарь) действует.

перед тем, как отец логана дал ей своё мнение по ее работе, было большое собрание, и они решали, кто напишет комментарий по какому-то событию, отец логана порекомендовал обратиться к студентам, дав им таким образом практику и сэкономив деньги. почему рори не предложила себя, пэрис или ещё кого-то из универской газеты?… это же был отличный шанс потренироваться, получить живой фидбэк

I don't understand Rory's judgment because she did "not like an adult" because she did exactly the opposite. a break in her studies will only benefit her, how many years she has been doing what she studied, working hard to be a worthy journalist in the future. but now, Logan's father opened her eyes (maybe he could have done it more gently, but as he already did). now she will look for her true self, and not follow her childhood dream of becoming a journalist. children's dreams are good, but you need to look at the world realistically and choose your profession consciously, because this is your future. now Rory will do this, she will start looking for her true self and will think about what she wants as an adult, what she wants to be, and not what Lorelai/Emily/wants her to be, etc. everyone is used to her as the perfect person, believing that she can't make mistakes/get lost/get confused/change her mind.
and Logan is a great guy, he began to reveal Rory's "imperfect" features, to show her what real life is. unlike her teenage love affair with Dean and Jess, he is much more mature and conscious, I want everything to work out for them
