The Dalek came out of the water so pretentiously, just like a little girl.

This is the coolest and most pretentious appearance of a Dalek that I've seen.

@SophietheValiant: Some kind of "quarantine" episode. and it's just like a movie about the Second World War. especially with that disturbing military drumming, like when marching.

Wow! Far Away again, suddenly. Somehow, I didn't even expect that this arch would be developed. It turns out that they attacked Earth, right. And at what time (in absolute terms) were the Doctor and the company on the planet of the Daleks last time, I wonder, well, not in the 20th century. But to evolve like this in 150 years is not enough time, as it seems to me.
But getting a Dalek out of the water is epic!

@Luivilla: if the information from the Wiki on Doctor Who is not lying, then the First Doctor visited Skaro for the first time in 2064. But the exact time of the origin of the Daleks from the Kaleds is not entirely clear, the Thousand-Year War on Skaro between the Kaleds and the Tals is mentioned, which was visited by the Fourth Doctor, and it was then that Davros appeared for the first time in the series. But alas, it is unclear how many years ago, relative to human chronology, these events were. Also in the second episode of this arc, the Doctor, when asked by Ian about the fate of the Daleks, says that they destroyed the Daleks with their team "millions of years in the future," which somewhat contradicts the events of this series. In principle, all the inconsistencies in the timeline and the evolution of some races in the series have always been explained by the fact that time is heterogeneous and subject to change. Time travelers can remember certain events in the history that they visited, even if these events were later erased or distorted in the timeline.

I wonder what the future looks like from the sixties. Because of some nuances, this vibe of the past is still so clearly readable. You probably can't invent a future without bringing a lot of the present into it.

It's cool that the series is starting to move away from the "theatricality" of the first season, which was almost entirely filmed in the studio))

Are the Daleks supposed to be time travelers too? Otherwise, in 2164 they do not remember / do not know the doctor, but in new school they meet him a million times in the 21st century and earlier for centuries, but they already know that the doctor is their sworn enemy. Of course, I understand that all this will be added later, when the series moves from science fiction for children to a more serious genre, but still it's a little jarring.
