Почему если с подобной просьбой обращаются к звёздному флоту, то они не говорят "А МЫ НЕ МОЖЕМ ПРЯМО СЕЙЧАС ПОМОЧЬ. Попрыгайте на одной ноге, постойте на голове, укусите себя за локоть, встаньте на мостик, сто раз подтянитесь и тогда может быть мы соизволим обратить внимание на вашу проблему". Или не начинают учить жизни со снисходительным тоном и самодовольными улыбками "Ах, член вашего общества умирает? Ну как же, неужели не помогла ваша мудрость духов? Нет? Ну что же, аккуратней надо быть в следующий раз".
Раньше старфлотовцы как-то деликатней были со святынями. Ой, извините, мы не знали. А в этой серии: Вы охренели? У нас там член экипажа умирает. Сейчас же разрешите нам тут все осмотреть и просканировать. И это при том, что Кэс в сущности сама виновата.
И что это было, блин? Что это за пропаганда тупой веры ради тупой веры? Пфф, наука ваша, рациональность, бха. Надо просто беспричинно принять бредовую фантазию за реальность и все сработает. Что, в реальности не работает? Ну так у нас же художественное произведение, у нас сработает. А потом так глазками загадочно в сторону "Очень... научно", мол, что вы со своими науками понимаете, материализовывать предметы из воздуха и покорять галактику можно же и пустой верой. А, нельзя? Ну все равно наука тупая, надо верить. Вот просто. Надо без всякой причины поверить, что надо в это беспричинно поверить. Мрак, короче.
Вот за такие серии авторам должно быть стыдно. Капитан прошла полный цикл религиозной индоктринации, научилась игнорировать факты, отрицать науку и верить в чудеса, а в конце оказывается, что всё правильно сделала, так и надо. Какого хрена вообще?
It's funny that, judging by the comments, everyone didn't like this series, but personally I saw here a perfectly good philosophical reflection about the very essence of science and the very essence of faith. But personally, this episode seemed to me to be one of the few where there is at least a subtext. Yes, science is our everything, we explore and study everything, and it is easy and comfortable for us to live in the known world, which is what the guide tells the captain. "However, if everything is studied, then what should you believe in?" - those "spirits ask" and this is the whole point of the episode: sometimes we really just need to believe and take a step into the unknown to explore this very unknown — which literally happened. We do not reject all scientific achievements at the same time, but if they are not enough, we literally have to listen to the inner voice and believe that something will work and do it. Sometimes we really need to let our brain fly slightly away from the mundane world of science in order to see it from a different angle and see what was previously difficult to notice.
