Another creation from Noitamina. A very typical shojo in the middle of a very dubious fantasy.
Why shoujo? We have a "Lovely complex" + 5-10 years in front of us. He's short, she's flighty and energetic. They work together and gradually learn about their similarities, which begins to attract them to each other.
But the fantastic part of the action raises a lot of questions for me: for example, who is financing all this? Libraries, of course, are not commercial, therefore they live at the expense of the state budget, and the law on mass media was adopted by the government, therefore the cleanup is funded by the state. Thus, one half of the population pays taxes, and the other half uses this money to buy weapons and kill each other. Somehow it's not in Japanese, but in Russian, most likely... Why is information only contained in books? Where did the Internet, magazines, newspapers, gadgets with applications go? Censorship has somehow affected the press crookedly, but it affects public opinion more than books! And in general, the war for the ideals of art looks kind of stupid and naive - where there is no act of buying and selling, there is no money, and where there is no money, there is no war. It's more like a silly quarrel with rifles.
Nevertheless, the anime is rich in beautiful epic military action and a few quotable phrases. The plot itself, with the exception of the dumb, silly humor, is also very interesting – it was a pleasure to watch! Now I'm terribly curious, what will happen in the movie?
