The Czech period is sooooo strange. It is clear that the animation will not be at the same level, but this is just extremely bad. Even in the older cartoons, where FPS was minimized, static frames were well rendered. Not only is the general level of drawing ailing, but also the very strange directing and physics (yes, even compared to the cartoon). And not only does it look bad, but it also sounds bad - the sounds are unnatural, as if they were taken from different places, sometimes they just don't fit.
The first of 13 Czechoslovak cartoons from the era of Gene Deutsch. Hanna Barbera is probably the most beloved era for all Tom and Jerry fans, and for me personally, too. Czechoslovakian is interesting, but not that interesting. The Chuck Jones era is weaker than Hanna-Barbera, but better than Deutsch.
A small offtopic about Tom and Jerry indirectly: the director of the Czechoslovak era was Gene Ditch, the producer was William Snyder. So, 5-6 years after working on Tom and Jerry, Snyder hired Ditch to make a cartoon based on the Hobbit as cheaply as possible (the copyright expired, it would not have been extended without the finished material, and it was not possible to attract funding from studios). As a result, a 12-minute short film was released, which was not even a cartoon, but a series of still paintings, and the plot and the names of the characters were changed, to put it mildly. So you can say you're lucky with Tom and Jerry =D
What a crypt)) Perhaps this is a good thing: to learn about Czechoslovak Tom and Jerry at the age of 15, and not in distant childhood. I was only pleased with the eyebrows in the style of Jack Nicholson in moments of treachery)
