The book is definitely better, but it's worth a look

The second mini-series after Hogfather, which was directed and directed by Vadim Jean based on stories from the Discworld. It is based on two books from this series: "The Color of Magic" - the very first and probably the most famous, and the second - "Mad Star". I'm not sure that the attempt to fit both sufficiently voluminous and informative books into one, albeit three-hour, series was successful.

The master of ironic fantasy Terry Pratchett did not suffer from a lack of imagination and imagination. Lots of details and all sorts of amazing things, such as a living Chest or an iconograph, wonderful troll characters, barbarian heroes and dragons, social institutions - a magical university and a guild of assassins, amazing adventures and an incredible journey beyond the Edge. All with humor, amusing allusions, paradoxical hints and witty, but not malicious mockery. It's not easy to transfer all this to the screen. And then I had to squeeze in the allotted time. It turned out to be unimportant, crumpled and offensively pale. In my opinion, the worst of all three attempts by this team to film works about the Discworld in terms of the ratio of fascination, brightness and saturation of the original to the fading and unintelligibility of the TV result.

It's a pity, and not only the brilliant plot material, but also the good work of the artists, good, albeit inexpensive special effects, and just an outstanding cast. Sorry...

Language. They say "nothing special", no terrible accents, no particularly difficult turns. Sometimes fast, sometimes a little indistinct. Subtitles will help you understand the wordplay, evaluate names and titles.

This is my second Pratchett series...
and the homage was more fun.

And it went very well for me. I haven't read any Discworld books yet.
I started the Guard, but somehow it didn't go down. But now I'm thinking of reading the Color of Magic. 🌚
